I'm was born in the church, raised and left it too, but I found years later that I was lost, I returned to the faith of Jesus Christ as it is taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I find it quite interesting that those who attack Mormon beliefs do so without reading the Book of Mormon. That would be like others attacking Christian beliefs without ever looking into a bible. Those who open their hearts to God will find that He has indeed inspired scriptures in other parts of the world than just Jerusalem. The Bible was written by prophets. Are we to believe that God would send prophets in the past but we have no need of them in our day and age, of all times?

Unlike Osteen and other megachurch boys, Mormons serve without pay and aren't compensated to say what people want to hear. That's what one would expect from the Lord's church.

THe old and new testaments are indeed the word of God. Just because the Book of Mormon was written in another land doesn't make it false. I find it quite interesting that those who attack Mormon beliefs do so without reading the Book of Mormon. That would be like others attacking Christian beliefs without ever looking into a bible. Those who open their hearts to God will find that He has indeed inspired scriptures in other parts of the world than just Jerusalem. The Bible was written by prophets. Are we to believe that God would send prophets in the past but we have no need of them in our day and age, of all times?

But yes, Christ is The way, truth, and life, which is why He visited "Other sheep which are not of this fold" (John 10:16). And what if they wrote of His visit to them and those writings were found? All the law, all the Prophets, all of the preisthood, ALL of it was nailed to the cross and was majestically illustrated by God Himself by the tearing of the temple veil from top to bottom. (Ezekiel 37:15-17) I believe that God will guide those who are seeking wisdom to Gospel Truths (James 1:5-6). In Galatians 1:6-9, the Apstle Paul warned against "another gospel," and said that those who preach it are under a divine curse. Salvation depends on the true gospel of Jesus Christ, which is only found within the Bible. There is plenty of information on the internet that compares Mormonism with Christianity, and Mormons shouldn't be afraid to check it out.

To suggest that tithing paid by Mormons goes to sinister places, including payments to its general authorities, is ludicrous, as anyone familiar with the tithing payment process and general authorities can attest. Unlike Osteen and other megachurch boys, Mormons serve without pay and aren't compensated to say what people want to hear. That's what one would expect from the Lord's church.

Where does that money go? The General Authories of the church, who work full-time-are financially compensated. Where did the money come from? The Mormon church is a multi-billion dollar industry. And, the Mormon church does not make its financial statements public to the general public or its general membership.

Contact Mormon church officials in Utah and request a Financial Statement. Also, be sure to ask them how much the President and the General Authorities are paid. That is what is so confusing that other Christians reject us because they don't believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, just like Moses, Peter, James or John.

Mormonism teaches that there are many "gods" and that they can become "gods". The Bible teaches that there is only one God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Mormonism's salvation is based on works. Biblical salvation is by grace through faith--not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Bible is God's word. The Book of Mormon is proven false!

Then, you would compare what Mormonism teaches with the Bible. Then, if you are searching for truth, you would "fully" reject Mormonism, repent, believe the gospel, and surrender your life to the Jesus of the Bible (1 Corinthians chapter 15).

@jackbartolli51 I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I do believe in the Bible fully. We just believe that Jesus came to the America's and that they wrote scriptures too. I believe it is things like this that make other Christians claim we are not Christians -- because they say there can be no more scriptures. I testify to you that we are members of Jesus's true church. If you pray about it you can know by God that this is true.

Therefore, your "testimony" is worthless, because you have been conned into believing in a false "Jesus". No one has to "pray" about The Book of Mormon. Christians test it by the Bible (1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 John 4:1). The Book of Mormon fails the test, because it is a figment of Joseph Smith's imagination.

@jackbartolli51 Where does it say in the Bible that Jesus created the angels? They are spirit children of God the father and are coming to the earth as sons and daughters of God. When they have been through this life and die, they become angels again if they have surrendered their lives to God and worshiped Him with all their hearts. What you reject is what the Bible does say -- that we are joint heirs with Christ if we suffer with him (Romans 8:17).

@GentleGiantAmI Colossians 1:16-17 teaches that Jesus is the Creator and Sustainer of everything. Psalm 148:2-5 teaches that angels are created. Luke 20:36 teaches that angels are immortal (they can't die). Being a "joint-heir" with Jesus doesn't make the believer a "god". It means that Christians will reign with Jesus (2 Timothy 2:12). There is only one God and one Savior (Isaiah 43:10-11). No Mormon will ever be a "god".

@jackbartolli51 would have you believe his interpretation of the Bible proves LDS teachings false. Well, that's pretty arrogant. LDS belief is that God is pretty huge. So huge that he wants to share what he has, unconditionally and without limitations, with all of us. Jesus said we "can be One with Them". That's HUGE. Many other teachings in this day decry LDS teachings and limit God and say that "He will not" or "He does not". A "good working knowledge" can trip-up, as well as up-lift. Beware!

@batterdown Mormon beliefs came through Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, both of whom have been proven false prophets and false teachers. Mormonism teaches that Mormon men can become a "god" and inhabit their own planet with many wives (polygamy). However, the God of the Bible teaches that He is the only God and Savior (Isaiah 43:10-11). Take your pick: Mormonism or the Bible and Joseph Smith or Jesus Christ. Your decision will affect you eternally.

I even believe there is good in the Muslim faith (until you get into the Jihadism stuff that says we all have to be killed if we don't convert - that is a bit harsh) But I don't believe it is very Christian for those that say they are Christian to bash any one else and then say it is in the name of Christianity. WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? He loves us all.

@bradleydjennings Brigham Young was the second prophet and president of the Mormon church. He taught that Adam was "God" (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 5, p. 331). He also taught that Adam "brought the animals and the seeds from other planets to this world, and brought a wife with him and stayed here." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3). Brigham Young was a false prophet! Deuteronomy 18:22 teaches that you are not to be afraid of a false prophet.

QUESTIONS FOR MORMONS: 1. If the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are actually three separate gods (according to Mormonism) why does the the Book of Mormon affirm that that there is only one God? (Alma 11:28-31) 2. If the book of Mormon is the most correct book of any on earth, and contains the fullness of the gospel, then why does it not contain the essential Mormon doctrines of eternal progression, the priesthoods, the plurality of gods, that God is an exalted man, and the 3 degrees of glory?

@ephraim888 Over the years, the founders of the Mormon church (Joseph Smith & Brigham Young), caught a lot of flak for their false teachings and false prophecies. Much of what they said and wrote has been a tremendous embarrassment to Mormons, and has led untold numbers of ex-Mormons, many of whom surrendered their lives to the Jesus of the Bible. This is nothing but damage-control on the part of the LDS officials.

@jackbartolli51 Damage control. An easy way out for you. It must be frustrating to you that the Mormon Church is doing so well with many more people joining the Church than are leaving it. If you visited a Mormon meeting with an open mind you would feel the Spirit there. This why the Church is growing so fast in the face of all of the attacks. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. BTW I have visited many Evangelical Churches and enjoyed it.

@ephraim888 No, I am not frustrated. Mormonism could grow to one billion, and still be wrong. So, numbers mean nothing. People join the Mormon church for a variety of reasons, two being they are ignorant of what the Bible teaches, and the huge differences between Mormonism and Christianity. I have visited Mormon churches and left saddened, because Mormons are precious souls for whom Jesus Christ died for. Yet, they are under a divine curse for teaching "another" gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).

@ephraim888 There is a big difference in head-knowledge than heart-knowledge. Jehovah's Witnesses and other cults read the Bible and claim to have the higest on knowledge. In Matthew 15:7-9, Jesus warned, "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: ‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN'" (NASV). Mormonism pays lip-service to the Jesus of the Bible.

The Mormon "Jesus" is a counterfeit that does not have the power or ability to forgive sins, and save, sanctify, and redeem the lost. @jackbartolli51 The best way to discern the counterfeit "Jesus" of Mormonism is to know the real Jesus of the Bible (John 7:38; John 14:6; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Hebrews 4:12; Hebrews 5:14). The Jesus of the Bible is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He shed His blood on the cross (not in the Garden of Gethsemane), and died for your sins. He was buried, then arose from the grave victoriously. He will return. That's the gospel. Jesus Christ is alive. Joseph Smith is dead.
