  • WTF? Real talk you are retardeddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • ahh I could not handle that sound...it hurts my teeth

  • F U winter! i will go out for a leisurely row today!

  • really good sports :)#

  • adorei, uma ideia diferente de o que é o remo !

  • is it possible to build loger boats than an ice 'skiff' such as an ice 'quad' ? tat must be great ...

  • WHATT THE HELL MAN !! THATS MAD ! YOU HAVE SOME GUTS DOING IT OVER ICE....HATE TO SEE YOU FALL IN HAHAH

  • imagine if you got a crab on that.... :S

  • How do you check it down? Just like one would on water?

  • What do you mean by "checking it down"?

  • @jaasoutaja holding water to stop the boat

  • @jaasoutaja "check" means to basically stop, like if you were on a boat on the water, you would put the oar blade perpendicular to the water, and place it in the water to stop moving. or what he said, "holding water to stop the boat"

  • @REEFLeafer91 OK, thanks (to all) for explaining. You can break like on water, but it needs longer distance to stop and I quess blades don't like it. To avoid a crash, it's better to change a course, this one turns very well.

  • @jaasoutaja i think she means "catch"

  • you should build a sweeping version

  • better than erging for 4 months?

  • LOL!Nice one :D!

  • Man this is sick, you need to early square though haha

  • wow!!! Í´ve never seen sth like this...

  • That is the best thing I have ever seen.

  • haha nice, but i think i prefer rowing in water instead of ice.

  • Hey did you already try some ice rowing this winter?

    Greetings from Holland!

  • Hello! It's a snowy winter here and I haven't been able to row yet.

  • I can finaly row when there's ice!!

  • this is fantastic!

id be all over asking for the building instructions and trying it myself...except that i live in florida. we dont have much ice... : P

  • That is awesome!

  • hahaha this is fuckintastic

  • ok this is pretty cool =)

  • thats dedication

  • I Love It :)

  • Looks like so much fun!

  • i rigged up a system like this for my lolcal pond... I love ice rowing!!

  • Great! Can you send me some pics /vids? Maybe we can have a race one day! Those interested in ice rowing can contact me for detailed building instructions.

  • I'd love to know how you built this :)

Ice rowing would be combining my sport with my countries passion :D

could you send me a pm or an e-mail with the building instructions?

  • Please, send me your e-mail address for building instructions.

  • No offense but wouldn't that scratch the bottom of the Eight and like screw it up? Or did you put it on something?

  • Comment removed

  • That is so cool.

  • whats on the end of the oars? would it slip all around while you scull?

  • it will be a pick or something to grip onto the ice

  • it has to be a skating blade or something

a pick is impossible. in the middle of a stroke the pick should be more remote from the boat/sled than in the beginning and the end. so the grippoint must be able to slide sidewards

  • That's correct. I described the system better below.

  • that's really cool. Well done to the inventor of this boat if i can call it that way :)

  • Hey, great idea.

What did you use on the ends of the oars to grab the ice?

  • Thanks. I used woodworking knife blades on the ends. These blades are fixed horizontally, so that they touch the ice like a skate. An angle between the ice and blade is 90 degrees. The blade is assembled oarwise. This assembly has no moving parts.

  • Lol this is pretty handy!

  • until you fall through the ice.

  • I would not want 2 get hit by the blade

  • fetti idee!!! geilä siech!!

  • fetti idee triffts genau!=D

  • duuuuude i want one of thoes.......... DOWNHILL GLACIER ROWING im brilliant

  • @mbw12194 love it!

  • thats pretty sik

  • I want to see more about his, its great I´ve never seen that before!

  • that's fucking brilliant!

  • interesting, I would like too see more.. :)

  • holy shit that works

  • he's opening up too early

  • lmao, is it even possible to open up too early on ice? XD I don't think it quite works the same way as water =p

  • lmao 2 stay carbon riggers

    Bonyserg

  • WHAT????

  • that looks fun

  • lol

  • That's a great idea!!! The only problem is that you cant fix the "sculls" on ice and it slides on the top of ice, so it won't become a serious sport but it's the gratest idea I've ever seen in alternative rowing. Why don't you make a double oar ice shell?

  • thats very cool!

    i like to have it!!!

    but in germany is snow!

  • lol

  • YEs THIS IS GREAT lets have races like this!!!!!

A friend of mine rigged up a rowing machine with a circular saw, he said it was unbelievably fast.

  • =)) now thats something you dont see every day

  • that is sooo cool

  • Really great :D

  • damn thats cool!!!

  • Great to see it in action It works really well, seems to go quite fast! Greetings from Groningen!

  • that's soooo cooool...
