Why did the emergency crew park on the other side of the street?
Emergency vehicles are designed to draw attention. By not parking in front of the animals, they distracted the drivers from the road in front of them. Plus, they didn't put a physical barrier between the animals and the traffic (their truck).
Obviously, the driver is mostly responsible for the horse's death, but the emergency crew contributed to the accident.

I can easily see someone being distracted by the truck and guy very easily, because I'd be watching him so I didn't hit him. People hit moose all the time here and there fucking huge. At night things are very easy to miss. You can't drive much to know that people have misaligned headlights causing them to shine in your eyes or people who won't turn of the high beams blinding you...

It's hard to say what he was paying attention too as there was so much going on at one time. The guy waving at people would have been quite distracting along with the trucks stopped, he might not have even seen the horse, something very possible dispute it's size.

stupid owner of the animals should be sued for allowing thier animals to cause wrecks. or the highway department needs to put up fences along the highway to keep the animals from wandering onto the highway. I am sure the animal owners cant afford to fence in thier animals so the highway department I am sure can afford to fence the highways then.

I can easily see someone being distracted by the truck and guy very easily, because I'd be watching him so I didn't hit him. People hit moose all the time here and there fucking huge. Yet they miss them or don't see them until the last minute because of other things.
Fine don't have sympathy, I don't care if you value a horse more then a human.

@manowartrexspacefan You don't get some countries don't have belt laws do you? Many parts of the world are like America in the 60s in regards to seat belts, with a total lack of education on them. You can't blame someone for not being educated about something and then not using it.
At night things are very easy to miss. You can't drive much to know that people have misaligned headlights causing them to shine in your eyes or people who won't turn of the high beams blinding you...

It's hard to say what he was paying attention too as there was so much going on at one time. The guy waving at people would have been quite distracting along with the trucks stopped, he might not have even seen the horse, something very possible dispute it's size.

we were driving south they were driving north we slowed down and the car on the other side didnt predicting the dog wouldnt run out but you know what the dog did people in the cars should take caution to animals being on the road i know i did.

how did people watch this, i was covering up my eyes the whole time, i have five horses who escaped thier feild, they ran down the motorway and if this had happened to any of them i would be more worried about my horses (my brothers i call them, because they are like family) than i would be about the driver of the car, i think my dad would probably kill the person that hit them, because they killed his son/s and didnt try to slow down. im glad he got stuck and hit a wall, he killed an innocent.

I used to ride horses, guys. They may not seem so, but they have somewhat poor eyesight. And think. It's night, and those headlights seemed pretty blinding. Most times, you don't see it until it is too late.
