btw - are they easy for transportation around?

(for example most cats hate any kind of closure or transportation. Dogs take up too much place (and cost extra on ships and planes))

Do ferrets mind being in a smaller cage for some time from time to time

blessings 2 all who love & care abt.ferrets i brought 1 in 2001 & adoptd 3 who came from the same household (owners moved away & thay escaped form their box & ran in frount of my ex's shop(we were on phone & i told him 2 get them 4 me) thay often played sooo rough w/ea other i was scared thay would hurt ea other esp.when thay played w/the tube,i loved them more than my cats/dogs as thay were such loving special souls & sleep/nap 16 hrs + thank u/love this as i miss em so much.thay made us all :D

@rikkuschocobos Ya I still only have one hes a load of fun, ferrets are really attention hogs they will nip you to get your attention most of the day I let him out of his cage he needs and I mean NEEDS atleast 80% of your attention. If I don't play with him on certain days he just sleeps his record for nap time is 28 hours straight ferrets are hardcore sleepers its a shame to waste all his bouncyness that way but its also a good thing when you have other things to do, just make sure he has food!

@ lol Hardcore sleepers. I'll be getting one when I finally have an apartment to myself which means he will be a spoiled rotten weasel. I may have to take 12 hr shifts with my job do you think he would be ok?

@rikkuschocobos Yup ferrets just sleep when they don't have attention or free time out of their cage 12 hours in sleep time is like 1-2 minutes for a ferret just make sure he has food and water I leave the t.v on for my ferret with the sound low. Did you know that ferrets are sometimes born deaf I thought my ferret could sleep through anything even infront of my radio it turned out he was deaf I felt really bad for him but a vet told me not to b.c 3/4 ferrets are born hearing impaired <3ferrets!

@MrRawr18 Wow I've been researching for half a year now and I never heard they could be born deaf! That's crazy but at least it lets them sleep through all the chaos. I wonder what in their genetics makes them like that?

@rikkuschocobos No idea but it doesn't seem to ruin their outlook my ferrets like the best animal I've ever had ...I tried to be a cat person I did alright had a 1 in a million cat lost him ..I tried to be a dog person but they eat way too much and are hard to make apartment friendly ...I found out I'm a ferret person my ferret is amazing he uses the restroom in one corner, never spills his food ...and sleeps when I'm too busy to play xD

How right you are. I did without some luxuries so I could afford the best food and bedding for my little guys. The return is so large, they only want fresh food, fresh water, clean surroundings and a few hours of your time every day and they give back so much more. :)

No, not really, unless they are allowed to run around the house without a cage for them to acctually live in. They are kind of like dogs. You feed ferret's once a day. They love to be petted and held. If you do get one though, I recommend putting it in a cage. They have cute ferret cages with little tunnels in them. My cutie little ferret just climbs, she doesn't use the tunnels.

@TheFunhouse1001 no you dont feed them once a day, if u are then u are depriving your ferret. ferrets eat when they are hungry so it is wise to always leave a full food bowl for your ferret. not to say anything offensive about your ability to care for your ferret, of course :)

@stephanieccat I've never had a problem with mine off-leash, just as long as I am familiar with the area and there are no holes or crevases for them to work themselves into....They really cant go that fast, and they really do love people and companionship, mine spend more time following me than anything, but until you know what your ferrets are going to do I'd be VERY careful!
