I love Robert Pollard, but I don't know much about Doug Gillard. Who wrote this exactly?

I believe it was Doug Gillard who wrote the music, gave it to Bob and he wrote the lyrics. Doug was in Cobra Verde who became his back up band for some or most of the Max Earwhig! tour. Bob kept Doug on.
