yes characters like Ryu (Stop calling them shotos, they don't utilize Shotokan they are practitioners of their own style of non-lethal Ansatsuken) have an easier learning curve. duh. they've been in the game for over 20 years as well, so its not that hard to get used to them
But at the same time, RLLY good Ryu and Ken players can destroy less skilled ones with only normals
Throw, LK oil, throw, LK oil, jumping HK, crouching MK, oil slide, body press, empty jump to other side of opponent to EX 360. Wake up game: focus attack back dash cancel or oil dive. Those are the tactics I use for hakan. He has really bad counterpicks too. Just about every charge character (ESPECIALLY blanka), and just about any rushdown character (cammy, sakura, etc.) He's still a good character but he is outmatched by a lot of the other fighters.
Why is JWong continously saying characters suck. I mean, you never know, he might be beaten in the semi-finals of another EVO by a hakan. I wonder if he still remembers the time he said Adon sucks. :<

They hardly live close to each other so they only meet in tournaments, if they went toe to toe ina few matches justin is bound to win one. Daigo is good but he isn't undefeatable, heck there is a match where Daigo as his xbox name gameinn was defeated by a Dan mainer named STRIPFIGHTERIV.
@AgrivatedKillah Oh they do play xbox it's just that the ps3 is more seen as the dominant console of that region probably because sony is Japanese. It may still be possible for Justin to win staright against Daigo as it is for everyone it's just highly unlikely. I personally don't like Justin anyway, he is too cocky for his own good, I won't deny he is a great player in game but he is always dead cocky about it.
@BlackStalion116 juri recovers from fireballs pretty quickly so if dudley were to duck under one she'd be able to hit him. And he can't jump cause she has a ton of anti airs. BUt he looks to just be a bad player anyways :P
I figured. I been practicing with her a lot tho, I just want to find vids and people who are adept with her. To me, she is one of the best characters.
cause theres so many great hakan players out there... No Hakan's problem is that he doesnt really combo well and most of his moves require you to commit to the attack and hope it lands or get punished. also oiling up just takes too long.. I know there are smart players out there that can do cool stuff with Hakan but lets get real, thats just a good player not a good character.

@NinjaKinryu I don't think that's fair to say. Hakan's not TERRIBLE, you just have to work harder with him than you would with a shoto or a boxer. In my experience, Hakan is about reading your opponent and capitalising on either mistakes or predictability. For a turtle, Oil Grab. For a constant jumper, Air Grab. For an anti-air spammer, Oil Dive to punish then a free MK Oil Up. Combo the Oil Slide and follow up then a free LK Oil Up.
Hakan has viable tools. Question is can you use them? ^_^

I use Juri all the time, but I haven't figured out how to store more than one Fireball, how do you do it?

I am always using hakan online and I have yet to see another player who loves to use him also. Hakan is really good if you do know how to use him as it works with everything else as in:
"you can win with any style or character as long as you know how to use that character and style".
I am proving that with hakkan always training with him as much as possible.
@hinatasexslave I'm pretty good with the character, the thing is that its hard to use him as he doesn't have combos like the rest of the other characters. He is faster than Zangief as a wrestler but he does not have combos like Gief. I think that its a turn off for most people. But I personally think he is great for the simple fact that others don't play with him.
@LeoBlight that's how his fighting style works. Not about combos but more on grabbing. But out of personal reasons I like hakan's persona with what he says when he wins a round like "and I say Turkish oil westling rules!". Lol I just love that when he wins a fight. I hope in the next street fighter game they'll keep him in there.
@hinatasexslave Trust me, I get what you saying, but as a Hakan player myself I think that there are a few things that they could fix. For instance, when your do his oil slide, its not to hard to hit him with a projectile. I like his persona also, I think they should have made him a bit stronger seeing that he is a huge guy when he stands fully erect. But what I mostly meant is that Zangief can pull out some combos and he is a wrestler also. But overall I personally think he is a great.

@ptsigas It's a style of wrestling that's been around in Turkey for longer than you can imagine, capcom obviously exagerated it like they do with almost all fighting styles in this game, wrestlers that jump 20 feet in the air to pile drive, yoga masters that can stretch their limbs, karate masters throwing fireballs. Capcom considered that americans may think of the style as homosexual in some way because of the oil hence why they gave him a beautiful wife and daughters to be a father figure.

Light oil alot is the thing to do, then medium oil after a throw or Oil Rocket, oiled up he's really good at mid-range, realllly good.

I am always using hakan online and I have yet to see another player who loves to use him also. Hakan is really good if you do know how to use him as it works with everything else as in:
"you can win with any style or character as long as you know how to use that character and style".
I am proving that with hakkan always training with him as much as possible.

@hinatasexslave I'm pretty good with the character, the thing is that its hard to use him as he doesn't have combos like the rest of the other characters. He is faster than Zangief as a wrestler but he does not have combos like Gief. I think that its a turn off for most people. But I personally think he is great for the simple fact that others don't play with him.

@LeoBlight that's how his fighting style works. Not about combos but more on grabbing. But out of personal reasons I like hakan's persona with what he says when he wins a round like "and I say Turkish oil westling rules!". Lol I just love that when he wins a fight. I hope in the next street fighter game they'll keep him in there.

@hinatasexslave Trust me, I get what you saying, but as a Hakan player myself I think that there are a few things that they could fix. For instance, when your do his oil slide, its not to hard to hit him with a projectile. I like his persona also, I think they should have made him a bit stronger seeing that he is a huge guy when he stands fully erect. But what I mostly meant is that Zangief can pull out some combos and he is a wrestler also. But overall I personally think he is a great.

@ptsigas It's a style of wrestling that's been around in Turkey for longer than you can imagine, capcom obviously exagerated it like they do with almost all fighting styles in this game, wrestlers that jump 20 feet in the air to pile drive, yoga masters that can stretch their limbs, karate masters throwing fireballs. Capcom considered that americans may think of the style as homosexual in some way because of the oil hence why they gave him a beautiful wife and daughters to be a father figure.

I'm kind of excited to see Hakan when people really get a hold of him.
Also, I think it's a combination of the kid constantly asking him to do shit and saying 'oil up oil up, do this do that'. It's quite irritating just hearing him do it.
Either way, I'm sure he's just not used the character and more frustrated than anything with it.

It seems like super street fighter 4 will e much better.......at least I hope.

Because Akuma shot up on the list to the top 3! Above Rufus and Balrog!!? That was extreme to me because Akumas are not doing anywhere near as good as Rufus and Balrog over here in the US. The best new characters are Dudley, Ibuki and Cody and the worth is Hakan... his normal moves have no range at all and are slow and useless for what we can see and his grabs do not have enough range...
Hakan is just another joke character and no one is going to use that for competitive matches.

@ndonadio Typical retard comment. Hakan can move full screen if he's oiled, while sliding similar to Blanka's slide. As a grappler, that's a huge commodity, especially since he avoids projectiles.

@warick1991 Yeah, I know there are some beat Japanese players. I've seen video of Mago play. I really like that guy Iyo, his Dhalsim is sick as hell. But, with all that being said, if they never enter tournaments, I can't rank them higher because there is nothing to go on. I can't take someones word that "so an so" is better than Justin. They need to prove it. Maybe they are scared of entering a big tourney?

every games has it's bad character, but also the worst characters can be mastered by some badass players to even beat higher tiers.
I will laugh if a good Hakan beats an good Akuma, that's like a extremely bad set-up for hakan.

Maybe Justin shouldn't be so quick to judge. When a character requires some getting used to, he says it's bad. Same with Adon, his links aren't obivious, so he's bad too. Forget about how to exploit his strengths...
