In concert Mick would refer to this as the 'wimpoid ballad of the night'-- and I think he meant that in the best way. This song was a harbinger of where the band was heading with London Calling.. and beyond! The Clash was the light that burned twice as bright.

My little finger tells me the Clash paid him more than Ian (rip) and he had hols paid and luncheon vouchers too...but he had to iron his own shirt and cook Topper his breakfast!
