tribu paghidaet has a clear storyline, in comparison to tribu pan ay...high endurance calisthenic dancing. tribu pan ay energize the visual senses but lacks the clarity of its supposed storyline. anways, the judges made their chioce. but if i have to make the choice, its still paghidaet who could have been the champion.
@edujan07 unfortunately, they were not able to perform consistently in all judging areas as compared to Tribu Pan-ay. makikita naman they had some parts where some of the warriors don't know what to do anymore. nagtitinginan na lang. consistency has a higher weight as compared to clarity. remember, DINAGYANG came from the word, DAGYANG. that is, to celebrate the coming of SR. STO NINO. there is no need for a storyline as long as the performance is devoted to SR. STO NINO. :)

well there is nothing we can do when it comes to evolution. it has to be that way to stick to the minimum standard of production this tribe established... yes it can be a lesson for them But they always make sure that their dance is principally related Sto Nino and they will keep the Ati' dance steps intact to modern influx of dance style...
I also agree about their 2010 performance and including 2008... those years had the most powerful choreography and Dinagyang style. well today at the very least they were able to maintain the level of standards that was also set by them.
i really wonder why storyline is not one of the major criteria in judging. the criteria should be given an emphasis so that people will not forget the story about the aetas and sad to say, i was not impressed by this year's champion, such a nonsense performance. because i really believe dinagyang is a religious festivity and not just all about dancing but giving honor to sr. sto nino.

@Framerod... During the 18th Century, there was once a Big Snake (Not exactly anaconda) lived in the mountains of Baloy in Central Panay. This has been written in the book entitled, Calinog: A Story of a People by Dolores Ravena. Paghidaet took inspiration from there. Since it is part of our history as a people, it is nice to note that Paghidaet's Choreography is truly a manifestation and is firmly rooted on Ilonggo Culture.
