Nadal's best points boils down to two types: great passing shots and points in which he runs like crazy and gets to an almost impossible ball. Probably fastest player ever. But when one compares to Federer's best points it is clear that Roger is a shotmaker. He can come up with shots that have not been invented and his game variety is orders of magnitude above. Nadal is the stronger player physically and mentally. Federer is much more talented and versatile.

@Bostero3771 Rafa's probably the best player when it comes to running passing shots, especially his forehand on the run (his "banana" curve shot is great). This was one of his strengths- hitting winners from other "winners". Eventually this wears down on an opponent and ,then, Rafa can grind down his prey with his relentless topspin groundies and physical stamina. The success over Roger is mainly due to his ability to exploit the Swiss's one handed backhand like no other.

His serve and defense skills (and footwork, for that matter) are highly underrated, and allows him to be very competitive to this day. Fans of Federer should acknowledge, however, that his best days are behind them as the competition is bigger, stronger, and a bit faster. Good luck to both Roger and Rafa!

Elegance is not a skill which make you better. Nadal owns Federer. Fact. He beat him in all 5 set grand slam finals except wimbly 2006 2007 when Nadal was a kid. Prime Nadal is the best player of all times, healthy is unbeatable.

Lots of running around and passing shots. No question he is the best athlete in tennis. But when you watch the best 10 poinbts of Federer you see pure talent, not just speed and strength. Roger is the GOAT and it will take Nadal some MAJOR accomplishments to top what Fedez has done. 237 consecutive weeks as #1, two GS (Wimby and USO) 5 yrs in a row, most GS consecutive semifinals and finals with a major difference to #2, 16 GS, 24 finals won in a row, 50 maches or more won for 9 yrs....

As I said above, no one says that Nadal or someone else cannot do better but just to get to the 237 consecutive weeks, Nadal would have to stay as Nr 1 for the next 4 years and some months, to win 5 consecutive times two GS he would have to defend his WImby or US title 4 consecutive times and so on. Possible? yes. Probable? not really. Would have to start winning the Master's Championships to get to the 5 titles of Roger.

@Bostero3771 Sorry, I don't buy that "Roger is the best"...yet...First, to be the best you have to beat the premier players in your era (ie-Rafa), and Roger hasn't done this consistently. Second, Roger played in a weak era with no players (other than Rafa) to challenge him. If a prime Pete or Andre was around, I doubt his records would be has high. Is Roger great? No doubt he is. But to say he is the best ever is impossible to say. Remember, Rod Laver won the Grand Slam twice ( 7 yrs apart).

@adamkyo1 Some may argue that Nadal has the Davis Cup and the Olympic medal but the Davis Cup is a team title and the Olympic has never really been a priority. Just look at who has won it: Rosset, Massu... only Agassi gave it some credibility. The Master's Championship is another story. Every important player who got to Nr 1 (Borg, Connors, Lendl, Becker, Sampras, Agassi, Kuerten) won it at least once and the great ones (Sampras, Lendl, Roger) won it multiple times.
