yep. i agree. i don't even eat beef or pork. of course, as a video or a piece of anthropology, it's fascinating to me. the sheer contrast between this benign, grandmotherly person and that horrible carcass is... well... dynamic and strange. my reality doesn't involve such things, but it's fascinating to me that someone's does, and they still live in the same country with me and in the same century. amazing.

when i first saw roberto's original video, i remember thinking that it reminded me of some of the best ethnographic documentary filmmaking that i've seen...very raw, very real and very human. it shows, but it doesn't judge. great stuff. and knight and i were hoping to capture some of that charm while having fun with the natural rhythms. thanks for posting. i'm glad you enjoyed it.

first of all, THANK YOU. yeah, we contacted bee before doing it, and when it was finished, and he saw it, he told us he really loved it. i love playing it for people and watching their faces go from puzzlement to laughter to shock and horror. there's just something wild about watching his sweetie pie grandmother hold up that horrible-looking thing.
