LOL. This is an interesting video. All of what you say makes sense. However you need to look back at history. Your wrong about the one drop rule coming from slavery. One drop rule did not come into existence until 1930! The USA functioned as a mixed race and more united region. It was during the Jim Crow era that you began to see race and racial separatism occur! The one drop rule ended by 1967!
Blah blah blah. Biracial (Mixed) people are Half White Half Black! Not just Black! I myself am Half Swedish Half Nigerian and I identify myself as White because that is where I grew up, in Sweden.
You know what it's not always a good thing to have a category for mixed people, In some countries like Haiti mixed people there are called Mulatto (root word mule: a mix a horse(representation of Whiteness) and donkey (representation of Blackness) pretty racist right? well that's what the French who were there at one point came up with, now let's get real the one drop rule created a lot of solidartity amugnst Afro-Americans but let's look at Brazil there are over 120 diffrent categories of race!
U R THE DUMBEST BLACK BITCH ITS U UR CLUELESS LIKE U HAVE JUST HEARD THIS 4 THE 1ST TIME N YES U R BLACK UR A NEGRO N THE PEOPLE DNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WEATHER U R MIXED RACE NOBODY CARES IF UR MIXED ITS ALL ABOUT HOW U LOOK DNT U GET IT IF U WANT TO BE A NATIVE AMERICAN THEN ITS SIMPLE HAVE A NATIVE FATHER N MOTHER DNT RACE MIX THTS THE PROBLEM WITH U STUPID HUMANS IS THT U WANT TO RACE MIX THEN U STILL WANT PEOPLE TO CALL U NATIVE AND WHITE NO SORRY IT DNT WORK THT FUCKING WAY 1 OR THE OTHER.
I think mixed people are black AND white. it's not that they're not either...they are BOTH. and they should be proud because it's a beautiful thing. and your skin may be brown but you are black and if you are black you most likely originate from Africa which would make you African-American.
Actually ... a person CANNOT be included in the unique, & largely Mixed-Race^, ETHNIC group known as AFRICAN-AMERICAN (AA) UNLESS they are ALSO: "A 'Descendant-Of-The-Survivors' Of the Targets of the Chattel-slavery System that took place on the Continental United States in it's antebellum era" [^The Lineage of MOST (+70%) AAs is that of +20-30% European & +25% Amerindian THROUGHOUT the line] [*The Non-AA Black-Citizens of the U.S. are called Black-American (BA), not AA]
What you're dealing with is the fact that you deem anything associated with blackness and Africa as a negative thing. Then again, with Obama and his mother being the one who raised him, yes she should get praise - and he often mentions her and credits her for his upbringing - but if Obama wants to self-identify as black, he is free to, especially because all his life he has been treated as a black person, no matter what color his mother was. "Black" is not a description, it's a title.
What I don't get is that you never hear white people complain about being called "white" even though their skin isn't the same hue as say a chalk stick or white paper? Then you mention the whole notion of being called "African-American" and how you have no connection with Africa. Well, I know a lot of people who consider themselves Irish-American, have never been to Ireland and do not speak a lick of Gaelic but will gladly state their pride about being Irish.
I have never met a single person calling themselves Irish American, German American, Scottish American, Roman American, Jewish American, Arab American, Italian American.
@Sashaeharmony really you havnt heard italian, jewish, arab americam?? never heard of jersey shore.... jew and arabs many times dont even consider themselves white lol you've fukin lost it..
@ladyafrika Irish Americans are not considered Irish in Ireland or Europe. And African Americans are not African anymore. These are American terms that are not accepted in the countries they claim they are from.
im not from asia nor hav e i ever been there but im still asian-american. even if youre not from sudan, don't mean ur not african american. Umm.. im lost. im not from china, im still asian american.

@nlee035 but your parents or grandparents probably are. and if you were to go to ASIA you would probably look like all the citizens there.
However MOST black people in American don't event have great great grandparents born in Africa..they were born in America. And if we were to go to Africa we would look very different then the people who live there. Our facial features and skin tones are different. I am Black but I am not African. I am American, a black American
the problem with Mr. Jacksonvil is that he is committing genocide of white features by having a child with a white German woman. No blonde hair, a miniscule chance if any of blue eyes, i mean you may think you're above it all, but white people are upset because you are basically destroying their features. And let's be frank, a majority find caucasian features more attractive than the rest of other racial features - blonde, red, and brown hair, blue green hazel eyes, light skin, caucasian faces
Black never was a color..it is the absence of color. Conversely, the color white is made from all colors. Look up Isaac Newton and Plank if you don't believe it.
Look my daughter is Bi-Racial and I feel it doesn't matter...I was born a Jamaican...raised in America..became an American citizen..left the country..lived and worked in Europe for over 20years in the field of show business and I married a German..we have a beautiful daughter..who we consider a human being..if it society is content with all those labels then so be it...my daughter is a human being which is relevant..Creole,Colored, whatever she is for society a relevant product for the World.
When i seen Bi racial people i call them another person of color because most of them sure as heck don't look caucasian. And i don't play that one drop rule because i never knew of it.
@JonathanStalberg You argue that people call your black becuase your half black but you identify with white that's not better - mixed girl

There's no need to use the word "jigaboo" either, that's a blatantly racist term.
