Considering how inefficient grazing land is, surely any alternative would be worth considering even with the are flooded ... manatee?!
Seriously though, provided the water is relatively clean (unlikely in southern England but bear with me) muscle or fish farming, crabs, lobster ... with the land drained to start with surely there's hundreds of alternatives?
