First off, this response was hilarious. But... don't hate on the Really Useful Company. They're doing what they're supposed to do. And the bootleg videos really do rob the viewer of the experience they should be having when they see these shows. Live theatre is meant to be just that!

Actually, the story I heard about the crackdown on Vegas bootlegs had to do with the uncopywrited new effects. They're more picky about this show than the others because they don't want other shows figuring out how the chandelier is done, etc.

Good point. After all, there are tons of Howard McGillin clips out there. I assumed they were from one of his previous runs, but I have recently found some new ones popping up, so I guess that's not the case.

I think the reason they don't bug many of the people is because the majority of the videos feature Hugh Panaro, John Owen-Jones, etc.; Phantoms who have all since gone onto previous projects. It is sad though to see how little they care about people who can't make it out to one of the shows...what, do they seriously think that watching a few videos on YouTube will make me think "OK, I've seen the show, I don't need to go see it live now"?
