@LayenPipes after you killed grelod, did you speak to the little boy and tell him that she's dead? if you did, then a messenger should seek you out and give you a note. After that, find a bed and sleep.

if your game is just glitched, maybe you should reload to a save before you killed grelod.

@BrasorWind Yes. You can join ever guild in the game if you want! The only guilds that are incompatible are the imperial legion and the stormcloacks (you have to chose 1).

@marianna15guajardo you could try to sleep and see if you wake up in the shack... or just go to a big building (like dragonsreach), wait and go outside. the messenger should find you pretty fast that way.

@VolendamMitchell she's located in the city of Riften. The building that she's at is called "Honorhall Orphanage". It should be marked on your map if you activate the quest.
