@johnmarella its a type of pole barn. they last a very long time. one of the most efficient buildings for rural farming garage or storage space. where i live we all have atleast 1. me and my dad have 3 and theyre amazing. a lot of work but very great buildings.

This is what we call a pole barn, it just happens to have a garage door which many do. I wouldn't call this a garage. Either way, nice pole barn, I would like to build one to hold my travel trailer and bass boat. To me, a garage is identical to a house except it has a drop for a garage door to allow a car or truck in.

strange comments.... folks its a pole barn the only disadvantage is theryr a little harder to insulateand hang drywall. if your insulating for heat use foundation and walls with sheating tyvec ect.... keep footers 24 30 deep and12 inches above finish dirt grade for termites here you have pt

Fine attempt at a pole barn. A few issues though, If no sono tubes at least use crush down those holes ( dirt don't cut it!) You also have some load bearing issues, your top stringers are relying on nails alone, try notching your post and then dropping your top stringers in, if you get any kind of snow load that barn is comin down the way it is right now ( sooner or later ). You poured a slab in there?, that must have been tricky, footings would have made that a simple task.

Why is it that you decided to build a garage without a foundation? If there was any sort of whether it would quickly fall down. This does not even take into effect the raising and lowering of the dirt seasonally. You could have saved wood (money) if you would have done it the proper way. Just Sayin...

Great Video very nice work but my big concern would be laying those 4x4 directly into the ground? no foundation? aren't you worry about water?? I also didn't see any gutters so all that water from the roof will fall directly into your 4x4 post that's holding up your garage.

Just an update. The concrete was poured shortly after the building went up. The walls have been insolated and full 100 amp electric has been run. Once the walls went in with foam board insolation, the building became quite and tight.

Did you notice the poles are set 4' in the ground on 8'' concrete the owner pours the concrete floor after the building is done using the treated bottom board as a form. Makes for a much sturdier shed than walls on concrete. Pole sheds can also be built higher than stud framed

aren't you afraid of termites getting into the wood. you have no concrete and your wood is directly into the ground instead of on a foundation. the garage itself looks great, but the structure to earth deal, no good. what about rotting with moisture? when one board rots they all rot and the garage comes falling down. hey, but it looks good.
