It subconsciously creeps up to your working mind when you're shopping for pants and makes you buy the uncomfortable, overpriced, crappy-looking but fashionable ones. It makes you dream of quick cuts of pantspantspants while hearing a crappy tune that you'd never remember even if threaten to be killed.

@skydark It's impossible to say you've never inadvertently spent money on something you've heard an ad for because they are impossible to avoid all together. Speak for yourself and thoughtless consumers because I spend a miniscule amount on clothing. I put most of my money in investments, but not through the brokerages you'll see advertisements for on TV. I have yet to meet someone my age who is as conservative with they're spending as I am. Not going to a fast food joint helps ones credibility.

@skydark There are impulse buyers who see or hear a commercial and stick with the idea until they buy the product. Anyone who owns a sham-wow or a slap-chop is probably guilty of this. I don't try to keep myself up with the joneses because the Joneses are bankrupt. Another thing I've never done is made a second car payment and one who does might be guilty of this impulse. There is room for separating myself from the average american consumer with debt on they're credit card. I'm not in the herd.
