  • Both excellent rifles, thanks for posting.

  • dosn't have much of a differnce

  • i'd say if the m14 did not have the traditional rifle grip (replace it with a similer butstock of the m16 family with a similer grip.) it would probably be still used as the main combat rifle for the us military. but the m1 grand dose have it's place as one of histories finest rifles.

  • They sound exactly the same. :D

  • take that you clouds you think you're better than me? oh yeah? take that

we really showed them huh billy bo-willy

    yeah dat was grate!

  • UFO! UFO! SHOOT IT! SHOOT IT!

  • its a bird! its a plane! whatever it is, it's dead now....

  • Grandpa and grandson out shootin... (the guns not the guys with the guns lol)

  • @BOT101st its actually the grandpa and the son, the grandson is the m14-ebr :)

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx actually the m14 is the m1s son and the m16 is the grandson .

  • @pacora24 so where does the m14-ebr stand? great grandson?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx m14 ebr is the retarted cousin that made love to the even more retarted m1 carbine and had a gastly sexual relationship for 9 months.

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Actually the EBR is the result of the M-14 having a long-term relationship with a lego set, and watching Transformers too much ;)

  • @LoneWolf051 u hating on the EBR, why?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx No hate, just describing its looks

  • @LoneWolf051 I agree. Not a good looking M14. They could do better.

  • @SNSkIcKaSs. About as "fucking stupid" as dumbshit people who don't read previous comments addressing that issue... Stupid shit

  • Dumbass dont shoot at thé sky! That bullet is going to hit somekid in thé head a couple miles from where you are. Dam how fucking stupid are you

  • @SNSkIcKaSs LMAO, thats like throwing a rock into the ocean and saying "Dont, you are going to hit a fish in the head!!" HAHAHAHA, god, some people are so dumb, making dumb comment of vids that they dont even have the whole picture of.

  • "pull!"

  • i love how the guy shooting the m1 pulled the trigger even after the clip ejected

  • i can see why the commments.. on the other hand tha garand looks nice.. 30-06? looks like a big ol hunk of brass flingen out... good shootingg

  • oohh boy i bet that sky's gonna have some pain

  • @SpecialOps1337 And the M1 has a CLIP, not a magazine, the magazine is what you shove the clip into when loading the rifle.

  • @SpecialOps1337 Thats not an "issue" thats just a poorly made up myth by people who dont know what they were talking about. All you do is manually eject the clip by pressing the clip release button on the left side of the reciever, and insert a new one. Or, you can dd single rounds to the clip while its loaded in the magazine, though this is difficult, its better to simply take out the the clip, and insert a new one, its way faster, and laughably easier.

  • Perfect for keeping them liberal chopper runs at bay.

    2nd amendment FTL

    Fuck

    The

    Liberals

  • @The1FastGP Fuck

    The

    Tea party

I didnt vote for obama, cause i want to PAY for my health care!

I didnt vote for obama cause hes a zombie terrorist socialist nazi and smokes!

  • @bboytobz332 Agree, it sucks that hard working ppl have to pay taxes to support women that have 8 kids from 10 guys and the taxpayee gets nothing. I despise Obama, he thinks he knows what we want when we tell him we dont want that and desire the complete opposite. The fact that he sided with the muslims on the Victory mosque....

  • @The1FastGP the victory mosque?! i was joking dude...and the mosque was a symbol of peace and freedom of religion (a certain ammendment). could you not tell i was joking with those ridiculous statements.

  • @bboytobz332

don't give zombie terrorist socialist nazi smokers a bad name.

  • @jinnwarior lol

  • @The1FastGP well said

  • @SpecialOps1337 Umm,,You can reload the M1 Garand, top it off, reload when magazine is not fully empty. Shows how much you know. Go back to playing online games.

  • luv da m1 garand

  • ill stick with the M1 Garand. that rifle maybe old but still accurate

  • @mitsubishidiamante More accurate than any 5.56mm platform by a longshot.

  • PING!

  • Make those illegals run!

  • @TLock903 LOL, BLAST 'EM TA HELL!

  • Lefty all day

  • Its so buitifull makes me wana cry :'-(

  • two works of art. Two of my favorite rifles

  • two of the greatest rifles ever made

  • @reaperflynn3 absolutely. I have used both in the military and can attest to their accuracy and worthiness.

  • u r idiots fireing into the air............... what goes up must come down

  • @baddawg209 gay

  • Totally cool guns.

  • eww the m14 looks so bad compared to the m1 garand.

  • @eifersucht2 wrong. The m14 and the m21 are the same exact gun but by law of Springfield armory, when any type of optical scope that has some sort of zoom on it is placed on an m14 it then becomes an m21

  • @Mypankakesturbo acually no... well, just because it has a scope on it doesn't mean it makes it an m21, just like how a scope mounted on an m4 makes it a sniper. i could be wrong.

  • @Mypankakesturbo haha wrong . m14 ha has a vertical recoil system when fired.. m21 does not. m14 can switch to automatic. m21 is specifically semi auto.

  • @sTriKeR502K .....fail.

  • Noooo i didn't hear the ping

  • its totaly quiet

  • Yep, thats that it sounds like on grass.

  • my 2 favorite riles, very badass.....

  • icant put one above the other......their both too fuckin awsome

  • lol the evolution of guns

    i see..... a scope lol

  • ther does alot of ducks....

  • is there a modernized verson of the M1 Garand?

  • Its called the M14 series.

  • The M14

  • Edit: this " mountain way up there" is about 175 yrds away. Unless your blind u can see every single hit.

  • Don't know why I take the time to answer ppl like you. There us a 300 ft. mountain face that is straight up and down with about 20, 3 foot caves on it. It is on private property in a national forest. It is an actual shooting range. They are far from "idiots with experience" I hope you can undestand what I'm telling you.

  • @kabenzi only an idiot wouldnt, that m1 garand is a beauty :).

  • chetaloris1 >>>>i dunno mqn..and shooting into a national forest..somebody could be hiking or camping.....i live in a national forest in kentucky..and i would never fire into it...ALWAYS SE WHERE THE BULLET HITS is what is was tought as an 8 year old

  • glad these guys aren't my neighbors...i don't give a fuk if there is a mountain "way up there"...can these guys see a target or where the rounds are going...other than ...just way up there somewhere...this trajectory sure as hell dosen't look very safe for this caliber of rifle.....and who the hell gives a damn about how many years of shooting experience they have ...i have met a lot of old experienced dumb asses...one criteria for an idiot is:> shooting a long range rifle up into the air. );

  • why are you thumbed down??? i agree you with you man.. rifle in the air.. im glad im not anywhere near..

  • Lol guess u found ur answer semperfi211. They are shooting on private property in a national forest so yah there is plenty of uninhabited. And again they were shooting at a mountain side that cannot be seen in the vid.

  • Comment removed

  • oh thx

  • an M14 is a DM gun. an M21 is considered a sniper rifle. then again, an M16 is a DM gun, and an assault rifle.

  • m14 isnt just a DM its a battle rifle too

  • isnt a m14 with a scope an m21

  • Most of the time, yeah.

  • Absolutely not, an M21 has to be made to exacting specifications to earn the designation of M21. You can read about it online and even find the specs.

  • if you put a scope on an M16 is it an M110? No, because they are two weapons that are totally different but look alike. Same thing with an M14 and M21. The M21 is much more accurate and doesn't have the option of fully automatic. Those aren't the only differences but two of the main ones

  • you play too much call of duty

  • i know lol

  • um.. no.. an m21 is basically an accurized M14. And this probably isn't an M14, probably an M1A (unless he's lucky enough to own a select-fire model).

  • @eifersucht2 the first m1a was select fire with the fire selector welded so there was no safety if i recall....

  • Can't wait to get my M-14! Such an amazing gun.

  • If I were to go to Iraq and they had the M-16 on the shelf and an M-14 on the shelf and I could grab either one I would surely take the M-14.

  • My grandpa used the Garand in WW2, and my Dad used the M-14 in Vietnam. They still have them and I shot both. I love them.

  • yeah it is but garands and m14's are better

  • Isn't it easier to hunt ducks with a shotgun?

  • there not duck hunting stupid they're shooting clouds.

    stupid

  • It's like Granpa and Grandson shooting(I'm referring to the rifles.)

  • The m16 (AR type rifle) may be the best known but if I had to choose a rifle to defend my life I'd pick a Garand over EVERY musket, rifle, & shotgun the U.S. government has used from the revolutionary war until yesterday.

  • Well..I don't know about that. The Garand sure, but there's no way the M-14 is more widely known than the M-16.

  • i agree that the m-16 is most know but maybe he was trying to say those are him most fav. i honestly like the m1 garand and the m16 the best

  • The two most famous American rifles!

  • I love the m14 but the m16 is more widely known due to the short service life in Vietnam of the m14

    too good of a gun

    (m14)

  • Still in service today though, it's a freaking beast. A friend i used to play a game online with has his dads old M14 from vietnam, still has the fun button (full auto).

  • but designated marksman in the us marine corps use the m14 DMR or now they might use the m39 EMR which i haven't heard much about. i guess marsoc or navy seals use this rifle the most.

  • Ping!

  • i have a m1 garrand

  • wath the hell are you shooting at i thew sky?

  • probably disks or some cute little birdies

  • ALIENS

  • Yah the m1 is 8 rounds internally fed.

  • I really am into WWII weapons. great video. i was wondering why nobody has made a complete video about how to clean an M1 from start to finish, i bet it would be awesome

  • I like it! But why only a 10-rounder on the m14?

  • we were using a ten rnd mag because we live in the "great" state of california..

  • oh right, damn commiefornia laws

  • Is the M1 internally fed? I did not see a clip for the M1.

    Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @kabenzi Hello sir. When you are shooting a post-1986 rifle with a ten round mag, it is allowed to be removable, correct? It is only past 10 that it has to be fixed, right? Thank you.

  • @kabenzi BOOO CALIFORNIA! LEAVE WITH YOUR GUNS WHILE YOU STILL CAN! LOL.

Nice video :-) Makes me want to go to the range right now and shoot my M1 Garand!

  • Please read all posts before saying shit like "nice gun safety, what were they shooting at". Between the two they have over 70 yrs of shooting experience.

  • I already posted earlier that they were shooting at a mountain side with several small caves at about 200 yrds away. Keep in mind this is on private property in a national forest.

  • What were they shooting at? WWII rifles, always a boner in my book (not talking about m14).

  • just so u know the m-14 is a later version of the M1

  • Correct!

  • really cool but unless your about 3 miles away from roads or civilization dont be firing in the air, cool vid both guns are sweet .30's rule =)

  • M1's Are awesome, i have three of them, I shoot mine all the time and I'm Eleven, It is really fun.

  • Great gun safety there shooting them up into the air like that....

  • Lol look at the dude with the m14. the scope was like 1cm from hi face.

  • why is ther always idiots trying to be cops, unless a cop is asking don't worry about it. What were you guys shooting at, the moon?

  • Did it never dawn on you that they could be firing blanks, lethal close range but not far out, u fucking numb nut THINK

  • Blanks WILL NOT cycle in a semi-auto rifle without the use of a special plug to build up enough pressure to cycle the bolt.

Seriously doubt those guys were using said barrel plugs since I did'nt see the giant goddam yellow things on the flash suppressor.

    THINK before you speak.

If you don't know, be quiet.

  • Why are these idiots Shooting up in the air! I hope they are hitting the side of a mountain. Otherwise they are not being veyr safe

  • ur a fuckin moron u their clay pigeon shooting and im sure their in a safe range shootin in a distance that is completly safe u twat

  • Seriously? You got shit for brains! Who the fuck shoots clay pigeons with rifles, Jack Ass! They shoot clay pigeons with shotguns and Trap Shot, Theycallme47 More like they call you Jackass

  • yeah but arent they more likely to be shooting a target than hitting the side of a mountain what target do u shoot up into the air clay pigeons i know their for fucking shotguns but its not the law twat

  • Just because they are MORE likely to be shooting a target doesn't mean that they ARE. They might be shooting at other things like birds for instance. Shooting at clay pigeons with a scope makes no damn sense because you would only get it for a moment and then it's gone. Plus a clay pigeon moves and their bodies are not in any sort of motion (besides the recoil). And, quit calling people twats I don't care if you know or think you know what it means, it's getting annoying.

  • I doubt they are shooting anything but SKY, they aren't swinging their guns as iff following any targets.. They are shooting at nothing but sky.

  • They could be shooting targets on a hill.

  • At my local range there are "gongs" set at 100 and 300 yards on the side of a hill. It is quite possible they were shooting uphill at some sort of target. I know I use clay pidgeons as distance targets. Nice bright color and usually shatter on impact. It sure is amazing how nasty people get over the most trivial things on youtube. Have a great one folks :-)

  • Yeah sad part is M-14 was originally a failure, but it led to the M-16 and is now a specialized sniper rifle so what the hell.

  • what? M-14, failure?

  • The M-14 was way ahead of it's time and used ammo that was proven to eliminate targets in one fatal shot. It also is a very accurate rifle, which is why the Marines use it today as their DMR. It was only phased out because it was hard to control because of the shape of the grip and stock and when Full-Auto was used. The ammo was heavy too. The M-16 WAS originally a failure because of vietnam conditions, it got dirty and jammed. The M-16 DOES NOT do a good job of providing single fatal shots.

  • Just had to drop a quick note. The reason for the 1 shot stop problem is the ammo. Ball ammo in a .22 cal diameter at the speeds coming from the M16/AR15 does not cause a huge amount of shock. Tho the tendancy to bouch around inside the target can cause quite a abit of damage. In my line of work there have been 2 uses of deadly force in the last few years. Both with the AR15 variant and both were 1 shot stops. The dif? We use soft point ammo.

  • The two are my favorite

  • The Garand is stronger than the M-14! But it only can hold 8 rounds plus it´s semi, while the M14 is full auto and semi but it´t not as strong as the M1.

  • the M-14 sniper rifle version is still in use?

    or am i wrong...

  • Right! But keep it apart from the M21 it looks the same!

  • yeah! i was thinking :D

in CoD 4 you got that M21 my fav sniper there but the game sucks, yo ubetter buy a real M21:D

  • its still in use..

  • You mean the M21 or the M14?

(i know the M21 is still in use:D)

  • yes i know the m21, but im not sure about the m14 thou. might be;D

  • :P I know that the A-Team used it :P

  • i have seen videos from iraq where they are shooting the m14. i think sniper spotters use it or something..

  • yeah but Coolmike1989 said that the M21 and M14 looks exacly the same.

  • yes i know, but the video said m14.

  • They are the same, just with a different name lol.

  • Actually they aren't. Here's why: 1. the M-14 has a detachable mag, the M-1 Garand has a clip. 2. the M-14 shoots 7.62 X 51 otherwise known as 7.62 NATO, the M-1 Garand shoots 30-06 "thirty aut six". 3. the M-14 was designed in 1954, the M-1 Garand was designed in 1932. Cosmetically they do look similar, although the M-1 Garand has more wood and weighs more I believe.

  • Ah...I see I see. Thanks for the info buddy. I just always thought they were kinda the same in a way. But the M14's design is based on the M1 Garand though. I'd like to purchase an M14 for Christmas but I dont know where to look lol.

  • Well, you can't purchase an M-14 legally because it is an army rifle. You can however buy its civilian equivilant which is called the M1A, try looking that up on places like gunbroker(.)com and maybe at local gun shops. I recently got one and I love the hell out of it, great hunting gun too.

  • Nice, sounds like a plan. But does the M1A fire the 7.62 NATO round?

  • Yes, it is the exact same gun as the M-14, the only difference is that it cannot shoot Full-Auto. Semi-Auto only.

  • Awesome, semi-auto is fine with me.

  • ok maybe they werent shooting at clay pigeons its one suggestion but their far more likely to be shooting a clay pigeon than you are a mountain u twat and dont act like u know what one is

  • I do know what a twat is, I hope you don't think you made up the word, someone beat you to it. Ever heard of UrbanDictionary. Who's to say they are shooting at the side of a mountain if it's his land he can do what the hell he wants. People like yourself who have to be an ass on the internet over something so pointless are pissing me off, and like the horrible state of California, we should just "REMOVE".

  • you can buy an M14 that has had the full auto removed, I have owned two of them, bit they are hard to find, the M1A does fire the same round 7.62x51mm or .308 caliber

  • Nope. Not even a semi-auto M14. By law, once a machine gun, always a machine gun. There's no way around it, other than selling it as a parts kit without the receiver, which until destroyed, will always technically be a machine gun.

  • well, I have two fully functioning M14's that are semi-automatic, and on both you can tell were the auto selector use to be. One is a Poly-Tech and the other is is an auto ordnance

  • I have a federal ordnance, and you can tell where the full-auto select use to be on it, the plug they put in doesn't quite match the rest of the wood

  • Then they weren't legally fully automatic at any point, and if they were, and you didn't purchase them as a machine gun, then you're committing a felony. I have a Springfield M1A, and it came with both a nice walnut stock and a surplus M14 stock when I bought it. It has the selector cut, but that doesn't mean anything, it was never fully auto.

  • I also have a friend that has a browning .30 caliber that was full auto, then converted to semi, by the way I'm in state law enforcement

  • Funny you should mention that. I also have a Browning 1919 made from an Izzy A6 parts kit. However, to be legal, it's required to use a semi-auto only right side plate, which is considered by law to be the receiver, and therefore the entire firearm, and have the right side of the bolt milled prevent conversion to full auto. While all of the parts in my .30 are from a machine gun, the bolt, lock frame, and trigger bits have been modified, and it's a semi-only RSP.

But I see what you mean.

  • ok, I can see that you're not going to be satisfied til I say you're right, so let's just drop it, you know everything there is to know and you're never wrong, at least when two different guys contradict what I've said I admit when I'm wrong

  • not so true. semi auto variants of any military firearm are legal in most states as long as they dont have a fully automatic select and can't easily be made fully automatic with a kit. there are some regulations though like in california guns can only have a 10 rd. magazine

  • nevermind i misunderstood what you were trying to say my bad..my bad

  • dont be so quicl to say so,of course you can buy any type of rifle that the army uses wither it being 3 round burst or fully auto you just have to go to a class three gun shop and pay the $200 tax stamp after you buy your rifle.

  • Not necessarily. Look at the M16, you cannot buy one of those, you can get remakes from companies like Armalite and RRA but you cannot buy a real-steel Colt M16. With the M14 it's the same way there is no automatic version sold to civilians, regardless of whether you have an Auto permit or not. You can only get the company's remade version called the M1A which is only Semi-Auto.

  • Actually you can buy an m14 legally, you just have to pay a $200 government tax and get approved by your County Law Enforcement Officer. Also, you have to be willing to drop about $25,000. Ouch !

  • Yeah I remembered that about 2 days ago but i thought it useless to come back and add it.

  • i think the a-team used a mini-14, err AC556; it's a little different.

  • ok :P I love The A-Team!:P

  • yeah the m14 and the m21 are still in use.

    The m14, m14 EBR, and the m21.

  • and I forgot about the m14 socom.

  • i hope you guys didn't shoot anyone like a mile away pointing them at that angle

  • actually we did.... Errrr. What you can't see is the mountainside that they are shooting at :)

  • Redneck Duck hunting???

  • doesnt the AK-47 use a 7.62 round? is that stronger or the same?

  • the AK-47 uses the 7.62x39mm, which is shorter than the 7.62x51 of the M14 and 7.62x63mm(30-06) of the Garand, so there is less gunpowder and less power. there is a video here on youtube where a guy points out the over-hyped power of the AK. he shoots two watermelons with a AK and with a 30-06, the AK splits it in two, but the 30-06 nearly vaporised it

  • then it makes me wonder why we got rid of the grand in the military and replaced it with the M16 with the 5.56 round.....

  • Well we replaced the M14 with the m16 - because It weights less so you can carry more rounds. 5.56 does have great terminal ballistics. Shot placement is more important than " knockdown power " - so with that said I think Id take 500 rounds of 5.56 vs. 380 rounds of .308 :)

    Personal preference - I like small calibers. Like I like the AK-74 5.45x39 .vs AK-47 7.62x39.

    All personal preference.
