We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!

lol klar wenn's steil genug bergab geht (Marke Skipiste) geht meiner auch 170km/h ;-) Ich würd das lieber lassen. Das fliegt dir sonst alles um die Ohren in dem Alter!
Use 1:100 (1%) two stroke oil in your tank to prevent tank and engine corrosion if you use the modern aggressive fuel that contain 5-10% methanol (not good for the old engine and fuel system materials!)
Wow, ich hab auch mal so einen gehabt. Bei Kassel bergab auf der BAB lief der 155 kmh. Ich dachte jetzt bin ich gleich dran (der letzte Atemzug ist nahe von mir oder/und dem Käfer)..... Das war 1969. I also had such a Beetle. When I drove down-hill near Kassel on the motorway (BAB) it did 155 kmh. I thought it will be the end (the last breath is close by me or / and the beetle )..... This was 1969th I am stil well but the beetle died long ago... lol

Ist ja ein Richtiger Rennwagen. Hab ich auch schon mal gemacht. Nur die Bremsen sind so erdenmend!! Entspricht ungefähr der Beschleunigung Rückwärts

Das Problem ist nicht das Gang einlegen.
Wenn ich im 2ten Gang beschleunige, springt der Gang von alleine raus wenn ich wieder vom Gas gehe.
