Reminds me of my cat. He used to take care of waking me up each morning. If it was a school day, my parents would tell him when to wake me up, and he'd jump up on me and start massaging. If not, he'd let me sleep 'till about ten or twelve. I sure miss that these days...
I haven't slept through the night in 10 years. The only time is when I travel. However, I love my cats dearly and couldn't imagine NOT waking up to see their sweet, furry bodies nestled beside me in blissful peace and contentment. :-)

But if I lock him out of the room, he scratches on the door for 10 mins, then stops and starts again 10 mins later, and again, you get the picture. Can´t win. So I rather cuddle him than really get annoyed with him scratching at the bloody door! ;)

@saikogrrl yes, and no. I had read a book a long time ago called "Mirror" by Graham Masterton, and there´s a cat named Lugosi in it.... so he´s named after that, but of course, with Bela Lugosi in mind! :)
Amuses me how he digs at your covers and tries to pull them off of you. Very few of my cats will actually sleep "normally" in bed with me, almost all of them that even like getting in the bed have a fascination with either sleeping on my chest, sleeping on my back, or on the back of my head. Heh. My cats also do the "kneading" paw thing on my stomach and chest and its just painful! lol.

Oh yeah, I know what this is like. My grandmother's cat Crystal would wake me up by tapping the bridge of my nose. Only problem was, she'd tap right beside my eye, so if I didn't wake up from her fur tickling my face, she'd use her claws. Worked every time...and ended up with her being shooed out into the hallway and my door shut behind her. lol. She didn't mind, she'd just lay outside my door and cause me to trip over her when I woke up.
My cat used to lick my eyelids to get me to open my eyes. Another one would touch noses with me and somehow manage to poke a whisker up my nostril. As Brad Solomon said, "There's no dealing with a cat who knows you're awake."
yeah, my old cat would pester me at six in the morning until I fed her. She would try to take my covers away, if that didn't work she'd try to be cute and then her final trick would be her claws on my legs or neck area.
I know this routine so well. My first cat would gently pat my face with a paw. If that didn't work, the next step was the stomp across the bladderone of my current cats does the face licking. What he will do is lie down on my chest and slowing inch his way up into position to start in on my face. Next step is to knock the book off the table next to the bed. And then my glasses.
My cat did this to me also.. he loved to play with the wooden blinds by my window and rattle them until I woke up. It was soooooooo annoying... he was very good at it. If I still didnt get up he would attack my feet. Little jerk... haha. I love my cat <3

I love my cats (because they will kill anything small and yucky that i dont want to deal with) and this used to be problem until i realized i should put food in bowl before i go to sleep. Problem solved.
There's a reason my cats are not allowed in the bedroom - I need my beauty sleep. This did not, however prevent them from learning how to open the door by jumping on the handle. The lack of opposable thumbs has so far prevented them from being able to open the lock, though I am sure that with time they'll figure it out. The current strategy is whining and clawing at the door at random times (even when no one is in the bedroom). They have food and water available and wish to be cuddled. At 3AM.
hey that's nice - at least he starts making the biscuits early!
my cat oreo (one of my many cats) comes in the room and screams in my face several times a night to let me know he is back after going outside for a bit throught the pet door.
Some cats aren't terribly forgiving when we shirk our responsibilities and cause them to doubt that they are the center of the universe.
This is why we get the unfortunate baseball bat incidents or more often, the hairball in your shoe discovery. And you thought that was just an unfortunate kitty accident. ;-)

My cat does all that, but also different things. She often sits next to my head and meows very loud in my ear. The other thing she does is punching me on my forehead, good thing she always hides her claws when she does it. :) But when that doesn't work she starts attacking my hands or feat. :P
Heheheh cute, my cat does all the above but has recently started doing a new technique - she gets up real high on top of my dresser or window sil and jumps off on to my stomach. No better start to the day than being dive bombed by a hungry cat at 5.30 in the morning...
I wish my cat did all that. Instead she has a habbit of staring at me with her whiskers touching my face - bloody scary when you open your eyes. If that fails she jumps around my bed like a lunatic and if that fails too she runs down makes the dog chase her and brings him jumping to my bed. -_-'

:D Cats always have something of Simon's Cat. Th cat is annoying , but in the place of licking me, he plays with his toys while we are sleeping, jumping, fighting with the toy and using the nails. Ouch. :|

Solution: Set an alarm for an hour and forty minutes before you normally get up. Go to bathroom, you need to anyway. Cuddle the cats and give them a modest breakfast. Go back to bed. It worked for me.
I don´t "do" alarms - over the years this has greatly benefited my health! Seriously! I suffer from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and need to slowly wake up and get my body to "work" first before getting out of bed... :O
By the time you're ready to go back to bed the delicious "lie-in" moment has gone. I've tried it. No, the best thing is to have a sealed packet of cat biscuits by the bed and just throw them on the floor then turn over.
Can't you train him to bring you tea in bed? This is the worst case of "Mummy-your-life-is-going-to-be-hell-if-you-don'tget-up-NOW" I've ever seen. Hopeless!

My cat does all that, but also different things. She often sits next to my head and meows very loud in my ear. The other thing she does is punching me on my forehead, good thing she always hides her claws when she does it. :) But when that doesn't work she starts attacking my hands or feat. :P

Heheheh cute, my cat does all the above but has recently started doing a new technique - she gets up real high on top of my dresser or window sil and jumps off on to my stomach. No better start to the day than being dive bombed by a hungry cat at 5.30 in the morning...

I wish my cat did all that. Instead she has a habbit of staring at me with her whiskers touching my face - bloody scary when you open your eyes. If that fails she jumps around my bed like a lunatic and if that fails too she runs down makes the dog chase her and brings him jumping to my bed. -_-'

When my cat was little, I'd keep him in my room at night, and he'd wake me up about an hour earlier than I needed to be up by chewing on my face -_-

LOL!! my cat looks like and acts like yours. he knows when i need to get up early for something to do also. my Spyro will bite and pull my hair as a last resort if i refuse to get up, funny and true.

:D Cats always have something of Simon's Cat. Th cat is annoying , but in the place of licking me, he plays with his toys while we are sleeping, jumping, fighting with the toy and using the nails. Ouch. :|
BTW, Lugosi has a beautiful fur. :)

My cat always wakes me up too, but she does it by biting my nose really hard. :D And she usually does it around 3:00am... But I could never get angry with my little princess, I just love her so! :))

Solution: Set an alarm for an hour and forty minutes before you normally get up. Go to bathroom, you need to anyway. Cuddle the cats and give them a modest breakfast. Go back to bed. It worked for me.

I don´t "do" alarms - over the years this has greatly benefited my health! Seriously! I suffer from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and need to slowly wake up and get my body to "work" first before getting out of bed... :O

By the time you're ready to go back to bed the delicious "lie-in" moment has gone. I've tried it. No, the best thing is to have a sealed packet of cat biscuits by the bed and just throw them on the floor then turn over.
