This kid doing the commentary has a bright future as a train announcer. Course his parents might be a bit pissed off that they dumped over 30K on his education, but they need to look at this less critically. If you had a son with a special interest in the inane, you would be happy if he got any sort of job.

Yes the waterloo winsor branch only uses the 450.

The male announcer is called Phil Sayer, who does many stations (most famous for Birmginham New Street). He is the best announcer IMO.

The female announcer is called Celia Drummond, also known as "Digital Doris". She does many SWT station announcements. She is not as good; her pronunciation is often strange.

try being at southampton central when you've got the bloke on platform 4 and the female on platform 2 talking at the SAME TIME, followed by the " in this state of....." in english, french and german

in QLD our CityTrains (Gold Coast EXP Line) have a really crap announcement you hear every 5 Mins

incase you have chronic amnesiabut the train only stops like every 15-30 mins

it goes "This is a gold cost train. Running express from south bank to beenleigh stopping only at yerongpilly and loganlea if you want to get on the Cleavland please change trains at loganlea." GOSH THAT IS SO ANNOYING

Great video, there are two voices that does the PA you know, a female and a male voice. The male sounds like the swt pre-recorded station anouncements person.

thanks, the voices are also at Reading station, i have never heard the female one on a south west trains train.

There is a female voice though. She also has the electronic type of voice, she is on (at least) train 450099 because I was on it!

Although I live in Southern operated sussex (where the on train announcement woman is terribly posh :P) I visit SWT operated Dorset every so often and I hear the woman on the 444s. Havent been on any 450s though.
