  • holy shit I knew there was some reasonn I called it drop zone all my life. I just went there a month ago and it said "drop tower scream zone" this commercial shines some light on that

  • @UltramanGaria

  • I can't help but wonder, is the ride based on the 1994 skydiving movie of the same name that Paramount made with Wesley Snipes?

  • how things have changed.

    Houston, we have a problem

Introducing Drop Zone, the world's tallest free fall ride. You don't have to be crazy to ride it...

Thank you sir, may I have another?!

But it helps... Only at Paramount's Great America

  • how big was this?? well is this lol

  • When it opened in 1996, it WAS the tallest in the world at 224-feet.

  • KD has the tallest of all of the parks .

  • Awwhhh, good old summers of the mid to late 90's. I had so much fun.

  • i heard about this guy, who rode this ride, and he unbuckled his seat belt high in the air, and a carnie got mad and stoped the ride just to make him scared and later they all went out and ate at pizza delight

  • this ride wasn't scary! i was like "that's it?"

  • i heard to do not play with the blet like taking it off and put in it back on becuz u can fall off like in the news a person(kid)died for doing that.

  • o.O

does anyone understand what this person is sayingg?

and its kinda common sense not to take your harness stuff off when you're up there. if that is what you're trying to say..

  • hes talking about not playing with the seat belt that you have when you ride. but yeah, some mentally retarded kid (no seriously, not joking, he was mental =\) got scared whern he got to the top, and somehow found a way to slip out while taking his seat belt off and he fell to his death :(

  • well whats a tard doing at an amusement park...

  • Ohh, was it origanally Black, orange and white back then?

Cuhs now it is Black purple and white.

    Haah

  • Actually, back in the day it was like purple, orange, green and pink, I think... with checkerboard between the layers. It was SUPER '90s lookin'

  • DAMN!

I woulda killed myself ON the ride just for ridin that. And looking at it is effing ugly. Very 90's. Ehh. My opinion. It must look ugly. Prolly why they changed it. Oh yeah, I rode it twice today. (July 14 2008) Buht back in the day, they thought it was Awesome.

  • haha. true now, but it was 12 years ago.

    damn! 12 years ago!

  • i love that ride rode it 5 times in a row today record is 21

  • are you kidding me? I rode it 13 times in a row at carowinds, if I would've known there was a record I would have beat it.

  • wow that was really gay...

  • i hate this ad, its really anoying. i want the man on it to leave everyone alone.

  • lol wtf!!!! houston, we have a problem....drop!

  • Yeah, in the 90's it was the talles Free-Fall Tower...

  • I can't stop laughing at this commercial. So fricken funny. If you have any more please post them. I'd love to see more!

  • Haha. Glad you like it, man. I will have to go through my old tapes and see if there's anything else I can find. I wish I could find my copy of the original Top Gun coaster commercial.

  • Crap man that'd be great! I should look through all my tapes too. But sadly I don't have a program that would transfer vhs to my pc.

  • This is so funny! Man the 90's were good times. I still go to Great America all the time. I love that place. Thanks for posting! ... uhhh I love you. :)
