  • the display incase some of you dont know is not specific to the engine but the model, like the glx vr6's came with the information cluster.

  • My 24v 2002 GTI VR6 has that display. 

  • yeah i have an '01 GTI VR6, 12v, and i have the information display.

  • then it must be because its a vr6 because my GTi (not vr6) doesn't have that digital display

  • @jarhead1145 you have the 1.8t? I think I have the upgraded interior (leather, heated seats, climate control), but I thought all the dashes were the same...what year is yours?

  • wow dude, im pissed the fuck off with my car, now when i cut the wheel either all the way to the left or all the way to the right, i get a loud bang, and especially in the snow and when i go over the slightest bump, i mean shit anything else gonna happen, im just gonna get it looked over by a mechanic i trust

  • idk where your post went, but I would suggest an apr tune...but idk how well 300hp fwd car will work. The mazda speed 3 has trouble with understeer at 260 hp. 

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 oh, yea ive heard about chipping it, CAI exhaust, and getting it tuned by AWE and u can get decent hp gain just through that, and i saw a 2011 mazdaspeed3 the other day, if i were to get a new car it would probably be between the 2011 mazdaspeed3 and the 2011 GTI...but that isnt happening anytime soon.

  • now my coolant light is flashing...when i left work it was off, the this morning it was on, but not when its running bc when i started it the level went up a little more than when it wasnt running.

  • @speacialperson12345 check your coolant level to see if there is enough in there. Mine came on bc it was low.

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 i did, unplugged the sensor and and cleaned it i guess. My level is fine when the car is running, but when its off the level is just a little below the top black bar, but its fine since the light is staying off.

  • @speacialperson12345 Thanks, I thought it was pretty clever. Nice car man, I watched your vid on it. You should push your wiper handle forward to make the back one move...What mods are you going to get?

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 i figured it out like 2 minutes after this comment and mods wouldnt be major, maybe just a Magnaflow catback or AWE tuning catback exhaust, bbecause i dnt have alot of money to spend for mods, oh and i want to get the windows tinted, but thts not really a mod.

  • @speacialperson12345 sounds good. I have a borla exhaust and I love the way it sounds. I am also going to get a tint but haven't decidied how much, and also getting a cold air intake, but I think that is it

  • @speacialperson12345 turbos are pretty expensive. an exhaust is a good choice

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 yea, thts why i am staying away from them, nd i gotta wuestion, when u are pushing ur car did u ever feel a kinda thud when shifting into 2nd at about idk 5000rpm, did it to me when i was shifting fast, but doesnt when i shift slower at tht rpm...nd a little bit of smoke comes up from my engine out of my grill near my passenger headlight, nd ive been told thts an antifreeze leak nd it did smell like antifreeze when i popped the hood, but its not a major one, atm.

  • @speacialperson12345 mine doesn't do that, and idk what that is, but if you go look at some gti forums. I'm sure they will be able to help you out.

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 i have brand new motor mounts the dealership says, they are probably loose. And the smoke/steam thing, idk wtf it is, but it isnt antifreeze bc there was no evidence of a leak, my car is completely dry underneath, and theres no type of residue where antifreeze used to be. the smoke happens after i drive for like 5 minutes then shut it off, i thought it was the defroster after i use that, but it still did it when i didnt use the defroster

    oh nd would u take a vr6 over a 1.8t?

  • @speacialperson12345 ok. idk what the smoke is. idk, i would have to drive the 1.8 and see how bad the turbo lag is, but I love the torque of my vr6

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 love the torque of mine too, assuming i broke a motor mount bc well they dont come loose (the mounts are no older than like 2 months...) i need stronger ones...?

  • @speacialperson12345 yeah just take it in and get it looked at so you don't damage it any. if the motor mount is broken, when you accelerate the engine will shake a noticeable amount. it might be something in your transmission. if you let the clutch out too fast it will jerk you, especially at higher rpm's. but I'm not entirley sure what is wrong

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 im completely sure i know whats wrong, i pulled it into the shop, set it on the lift, and found tht my whole control arm and wheel assembly (pasenger side) moves bc the weld for the lower control arm broke off and the bolt could not thread into anything, tried tightening but would work, as far as i know this is from abuse, and it happened on the drivers side, and a dumbass mother fucker took a torch to the subframe to make an access point to reweld the lower control arm back to

  • @LeftLaneDriver93 only $100 to fix, i just had to pay parts, no labor, nd the dude got a good deal on the subframe, its all better now, no more bang when i let off and not more pulling to the right.

  • @speacialperson12345 nice dude. I just had to get new spark plugs and new wires for them too, which was kinda expensive, but it runs great now
