Yeah, I got bored about three quatters of the way thru this thrilling Alan "Huotter" Huot video but maybe the NoMol really works. Worth a try but, whatever you do, DON'T get your hands dirty!!!!
I recently incorporated the No-Mole traps into my business. The reason I tried the traps is because I use victor mole traps which are great in moist soil conditions and are very effective in those conditions but have a harder time to set in dryer soil conditions. The No-Moles traps work very well in dry soil conditions and in any soil conditions. The only I don’t like about them is the fact they take much longer to set up and check than victor mole traps but they do there purpose.
Jesus... This video could have been 1 minute and thoroughly explained how to set emm with 30 seconds left to just sit there and say 3 quatters of an inch...
I have Norway rats that have moved into the tunnels from the neighbors farm. They have horses and barns full of grain. Just as an experiment, I put rat bait blocks into 3 holes and one disappeared and one was eaten completely. All that was left was a small pile o crumbs. Does it get any worse that this. I have been in this house for 20 years and NEVER had sucha nightmare. Are you sure you dont want to come get rid of these monsters??? I am a clean freak. This is horrible.
I've had good luck with a very similar type of trap. I've killed as many a 15 in one year.
If you miss one though, he will learn to avoid the trap. I also like to put the wire loop closer to the end, no more than half way in. That way it catches them on the neck or chest and they die quick. Catching them by the gut area is a slow death.
Thanks for responding. This morning one trap was pushed all the way out of the tunnel. It was laying on top of the ground. The other traps are not set off and this morning there were no new mounds of dirt except where the one was pushed out. I feel like I live in the Twilight zone. These just don't act like all the stories I have read about moles. Wanna come out and get em for me????
Hmmmm, that you have "hills" or mounds means they are tunneling fairly deep as opposed to right under the surface of the sod, are you sure you are getting the traps down into their travelling tunnels ? 6 of 8 are untouched ? What happened with the other 2 ? Also, what size are their tunnels are the traps fitting in them rather snugly ?
This morning - one tap was pushed completely out of the tunnell and laying on top of the ground - still set. The other traps seem pretty snug and I did start placing them deeper, but there are soooooooooo many tunnells now.
I ordered 8 traps from you guys and let them sit in the ground for a few days and then set them exactly like the video shows. I have a WELL ESTABLISHED colony of these animals (Washington State). 6 of 8 are untouched when I check them and the hills are all around. The runs I am in are current. THEY ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Tell me more, what is going wrong ? Are the traps being set off ? Are the moles going around them ? Or is it that you just haven't caught any moles since you"ve set them ? ...........Alan
@Ambriosa007 this is not a good design at all.i have been a welder fabricator for about six years now and can tell you that he mechanics of this device is not very good. the double loop traps are a great design and they work great. just follow the directions and you will see for your self.
@Ambriosa007 I bought a dozen of these and they work great. I have caught a much greater number of moles with these traps. what you are probably doing wrong is that you are either setting the traps in the wrong places or just not setting it right. try placing the trap on long and generally straight tunnels that leads to an area with a lot of smaller, branching tunnels (the moles feeding ground.) if that isn't the problem try watching this video another time and don't forget, practice is key.
I too must agree i have spent hundreds of dollars on poisons traps and juicy fruit trying to get rid of moles. This year I have caught 4 moles on my property with these traps and now find myself kind of excited to see a mole in my yard!
Excellent, glad to hear you are having immediate success with the NoMol traps. I'm sure you can tell they are my personal favorite. I haven't found a mole trap that is as safe to leave in your lawn and operates as effectively. Good luck with them !
If you are having a particularly hard time setting the nomol traps you can take a file and very slightly flatten a spot on each side of the trigger loop where the jaws will rest. Just like riding a two-wheeled bicycle, once you get the feel for setting them it is no problem.
ALRIGHT that's what I need!! Where can I get one need to get rid of these little bastards messing up my lawn. Almost busted my ass cutting the grass last week, thanks to thses little bastards!
Can you use this method for trapping pocket gopher?

A trap being pushed all the way out of the tunnel ? Are you sure you're dealing with moles and not pocket gophers ? Just curious !
