  • I have one of these for a month. Absolutely loving it. Many people bitch about the gain channel. I've learned that it sounds fantastic if you play LOUD & crank the master volume.

This is not a 'bedroom' amp!

    I use a 4X12 cabinet & that helps too.

  • I have this amp not a huge fan of the the distortion tone has weird octave sound to it(on mine that is. yours sounded pretty good!.The clean channel is great to

  • man I love bugera, I just bought the V5 and it is fantastic. And also I love the jaguar that you have and also the jazzmasters guitars , what a grate combination.

  • v55 loose the low end when using gain channel

  • @SIGN666

    How old is it?

And and yes there is a difference between tube brands.

  • These amps are the real deal!! I must have watched 20 videos of them! I have a mesa mk5 right now that ran me nearly 2000 usd! This clean channel buries the mk5 even with single coils and the gain dialed out. Nice amp my friend.

  • Is it just me, or do these amps seem like bit of a bargain?

  • Mike!

  • pixies hey!

  • so im looking to buy this off of someone on craigslist, does anyone have an idea of how much i should pay for it used?

  • @topdog2328 It only cost me 299 CAD brand-spankin' new, so going that route shouldn't even be a pain. I would go no higher than 200, but hey. If you want a mic soundclip live btw check out my video

    watch?v=dVWVBMq_ZaU

  • Nice job bro. I think this amp is also a bit louder than a tiny terror too. I think these are a better choice for me too. I also think these are better for a live show. I just posted a demo of the same amp yesterday if you want to hear it through my Les Paul. I can really hear that Fender tone come right through on those cleans

  • 1:34 hahaha hilarious!

  • i wanna get this just for the clean channel :):):)

  • Can this thing be biased for KT66s? KT88?

  • 2:59 is that the overdrive on the amp or is that a stompbox?

  • i love the pixies

    might consider this one lol

  • investing in some better tubes will make this amp sound even better. IMHO New Sensor Tung-Sol and Electroharmonix brand 6L6's are closest in sound to old American made Sylavanias and their 5881( if it can be used in this amp) are the best sounding new production available. the chinese pre amp tubes that came in this thing are absolutely the cheapest possible available, V1 and V2 at least should be replaced.

  • for 250 you just couldnt get something that sounds better. its a straight orward basic Fender rip off. Bugeras parent company Behringer has made a good living at copying name rand electronics for years. this may be their best tube amp copy yet.

  • Thanks for a great demo ... is this Bugera's attempt at a Dumble or Bad Cat or Matchless head?

  • i love u mother fucker Guitar!!

    jaguar!!

  • HOWS THE V55 DOING STILL WORKING?

  • To those slagging Bugeras...

First we had Tube amps, then Solid State amps. Eventually we went Digital. Line 6, Zoom, GuitarRig, Amplitube, Ampeg SVX... The whole Spider series from Line 6 changed everything in my opinion.

Anyways, so you're saying that it's OK to have a digital piece of hardware that emulates (ie. COPIES) the tone of another amp... BUT it's NOT OK to have a real head that copies the tone? I DON'T FUCKING GET YOU PEOPLE!!!!

    It's cheap. It's all tubes. DON'T COMPLAIN!

  • Yeah you're diggin that clean reverb tone the TT wasn't ever giving up. Looks like you'll be gettin a 2-12 so the stack doesn't look so top heavy. Looks like Hoss Cartwright on that too little horse he used to ride. As always, thanks for the soundcheck demo.

  • Dude what did you use in 8:50 or so? Sounds great!!!

  • what box did u use ?

  • Is this amp kind of in the vein of a Mesa Boogie Lonestar? It seems like it because of the 6L6 power tubes and the very good clean tones.

  • Im gonna buy this head as soon as I sell my Vox digital hybrid AD.. but man tune that Jaguar

  • Hell yes, I'm picking one of these up this weekend before they jack the price up once they've realized what a fantastic amp they're practically giving away! You've got great taste in guitars too I must say, made me a bit jealous! Rock on!

  • Great amp, and great video. I've got one V55hd too. Had a problem with the impedance switch, it had(s?) some contact problem in the 8 Ohm pos. I hope I've fixed it with some wd40. Perheps it was sitting too much on some chinese ship.. so be careful, if the amp suddenly dies, check that switch.

  • At 7:59 its looks "color blocked".the shirt jeans guitar are blue.the bed and blanket are red. and the wall the amp AND even the guitar's headstock is yellow.

  • I hope the v22 combo sounds similar...

  • The v22 is a great amp. finally played one a few weeks ago. Its just a blast to mess around with. You get very fender'ish bluesy break up at low volumes and the amps take pedals really well.. great amps!!!

  • @wedge070 awesome!I've been planning to buy one instead of a vox ac15 cc1 cuz its more in my price range.

  • @bobert995 yh don't the ac15 is a really lovely amp, a whole lot different to this but its much nicer.

  • Really nice tone !!!! Good playing too.......

  • Does this amp handle pedals alright or does it sound like crap with pedals

  • @tomtom2000able handels them pretty well

  • Comment removed

  • @LordFelix1000

yes if there is a directout or cab sim out

  • Well to make things a little simpler about that question, the head has to be plugged into something if not a cabinet, like a sound system or like that one guy said a direct out or cab sim out. But the head has no speakers in it so it has to have something plugged into it.

  • really? no

  • @LordFelix1000

No, it cannot. I love how people just mark someone down instead of helping them.

  • ...... ........ ...... ..... yes.

  • 0/10

  • whats the first song that he plays?

  • Comment removed

  • what cab are you using?

  • These things are so cheap, I'm thinking about getting 2 of them and just having one as a back up in case the first one explodes

  • congratulations for the demo. What kind of cab / speakers are you using? I 'm Looking an amp to play at home / garage, in the style of David Gilmour. Is that(V55) a good choice? thanks

  • Playing AC/DC on a Fender-based amp..interesting

  • Does this amp have an effects loop?

  • yes

  • yess the pixies

  • sweet

  • My V55hd driving a Bugera 212 cab with vintage speakers sounds great!!.

Very clean, warm, and bright. Pentode and Triode mode is a nice touch. Very versatile.

Only time will tell whether it is reliable or not. I do intend replacing the stock Bugera 6L6 tubes with SED 6L6 tubes.

  • whats the difference in pentode and triode?

i'd love to know what that is and what they do?

  • Its effectively half power but there are some suble tonal changes, Quite nice to drive the amp harder without blowing your head off

  • no you can't. idiot

  • what did you use to record this amp direct?

  • a cable.

  • Pixies! :D Good amp as well.

  • and F*ck that i can buy 4 bugera full stacks for half the cost .. i also go a splawn custom and my 6262 can be dialed in to match it strait up !! fact !!!

  • i agree with

Sydoncid ... 100% !!!... I own & Use 2 Full Bugera 6262 stacks live ..I have been playing since i was 12 or so I guess im just a old dude (lol) but am a jammin o' dude!!! Always preferred tube amps over SS amps.. but these bugera amps are all High Quality amp and Actually have high quality components if this Vintage 55 was American Made it would easily cost around 1200 retail !!(fact)!! Before I switched to bugera 6262's I was running EVH heads on 412 electro voice mesa cabs

  • Sounds frickin' great, man! I dig that Jag! I'm gonna get that V55 real soon.

  • how insanley loud can this amp get??

  • if you stick your ear right next to it, it will blow your brains out of your nose. If you had any of course!

  • got mine for 2 weeks now, it started to hum : first the hum dissappeared but later it came back and finally a very loud hum and =dead :fuse broke replacing the fuse didn't solve. I brought it back to the dealer....,

  • Got it back after "2 months !!!.(they had a lot of repairs i guess But. its sounds better then before more open sound, I like it; nice blues sound and good distortion. Certainly more bass then my jcm900... hoping it will last ....

  • Nice to someone play a jaguar, good tones from the amp.

  • I currently have a Bugera 333XL 2x12 combo with a Bugera 2x12 extension Cab. I have just orderd one of these as a backup. Also the 333XL is a serious back breaker

  • not bad i'm actually quite interesting in getting one lol

  • Bugera 55hd or Peavey Classic 50 head? im stuck

  • Bugera's sound better overall, depends what you need.

  • would this head be loud enough to gig with over drums and a bass

  • 20w tube is enough for that, so 55 should do the trick easily

  • um, not so much. i own the v22 combo and it can barely keep up in my band. i do love the amp but also bought a 1990 so now i will never have an issue with being heard.

  • yeah, but thats a combo

  • the head he is talking about is the 55w the v22 is only in combo form

  • I know, but i ment that, the v22 combo, would never be loud enough for in a band, cause of the single (10"/12") speaker

If it was a head, it would definitly be loud enough for a band

55w is always loud enough for a band btw

  • I have been playing my V-22 in a classic rock cover band and it is plenty loud. I changed out the speaker to a Hellatone 60 and it has more volume as well as sounding a bunch better.

  • Yeah, I agree, some people don't realize the difference between tube wattage and solid state wattage. There IS a difference. I once had a Fender 15-watt tube amp that was loud enough (without any pedals) to play in a classic rock band!

  • im gonna buy one thanks mate great review

  • look up the bugera 6262

  • Will this amp do good for punk? Meaning, is it tweakable to doing so.

  • Lush soundin amp man. Nice review. I shall be adding this to me collection soon. It sounds very "Brit" in your clip. I'm guessing by the way you play etc that was delierbate? I'm told it warms up nicely and can sound very "Texas Lonestar". Is that true??

Thanks for posting this, better the the usual TTK shite!!

  • Wow! I cant decide between this or the 1990.

    Can anyone help me out?

  • two different vibes altogether. The V55HD is more vintagey tone and has a little more sagging almost brown sound thing going. the 1990 is more like a jcm 900, a bit more modern high gain

  • Yeah ive think ive decided on the v55 it sounds alot smoother, the 1990 is a little to buzzy

  • i've played a v22, and the 1990. And personally i think the 1990 has waaaay better tone than the V series. They're both good though

  • What kind of cab/speakers are you using?

  • WOW!!! That just sounds too cheap to be true!!! What's the biuld quality like?? I was looking at getting a Tiny Terror thinking it was the best thing I could get for the £300 mark but that looks and sounds stonking for the money!

  • your jag sounds a lot fuller/less bright and brittle than others. is that some mods you've made, or how you have the amp eq'd, or something else?

  • amp sounds great. sounded like your guitar was out of tune on some of the riffs tho. As a proud bugera owner let me say congrats!

  • hey dude this sound's good

  • looks cool, how much clean headroom is there on the amp? how well does it take pedals?

    thanks

    chris

  • Hey Mike. Why don't you do some new demos with the Duo Sonic. Haven't seen that guitar in a while.

  • Great, thank you!

  • Pixies FTW!

  • i like this, it sounds more alive than the other one, a lot clearer

  • I think Bugera's stuff sounds awesome. Always been scared off by all the reliability issues I've seen reported though. I'd love to know what your experience is like over time.

  • absolutely. lots of folks describe them as trash, i'd really like to know why? what i've seen this far + the sound seems to be amazing, especially for that money!! this one seems to be a bogner copy, now try to buy a bogner for 250 quid!! no way you'll ever get one!

  • Earlier Bugera's had some power issues. Checkout creepingnet on youtube. He does a video where he actually had to rewire the power grid. He still likes them, but definitely problems with earlier ones. Hopefully they are fixing the issues.

  • hey, thanks for the hint. i checked the vids out and it seems as if the mesa and peavey knock-offs were lacking here and there, but the marshall and bogner knock-offs by bugera are this years babies. lets hope they learned their lessons and fixed things. this VH55HD head is something i'm really excited about, and i would like to see it doing fine, nevertheless i know there might new problems regarding the new bugeras pop up, which might need some work too.

  • ...but if anything goes wrong and they're still fragile here and there and you get a "bad" one, i think theres still lots of money left to get them fixed and running, instead of buying the "real deal" in the first place.

  • Sounds awesome man! 5 Stars all the way!
