Clearly one of the best James Bond movies in my book. My third favorite James Bond theme. The first two are

1) View to a Kill (Theme was better than the movie, but I still liked it)

2) Live And Let Die (What can I say, a sheer classic in every way).

Definitely one of the best. "For Your Eyes Only" is better, and "All Time High" from Octopussy better still. My all time favorite though is "Moonraker". Just me, but its just so much more romantic and dreamy. And I'll always have a huge soft spot for Duran Duran's "View to a Kill". Kicks serious ass and really nails the whole Bond theme to a tee.

@jo273771 There hasn't been any bad Bond actors, just bad Bond writers. Moore, Dalton and Brosnan were given scripts that were lightly entertaining but nothing special nor with any dimension. While Connery played Bond, the character was still a mystery so the search for dimension kept the audience curious. After George Lazenby's Bond, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", the producers were content with lazy writing until they erased the slate with Craig Daniel.

Yes, the ski jump was the best pre-tiitle opening. People in the theatre gasped because they could see it was the real thing, and then the suprise with the parachute at the end, which was in turn followed by this spectacular song sung by the spectacular Carly Simon. And that was before this extremely good film even got going!

I remember seeing this as a child in 1977. I love the Union Jack parochute, the Lotus Esprit S1 - whoever was in charge of the electronics set up did an amazing job. Those 7-segment LED displays popping up out of the dashboard was sooooo cool back then, not to mention the scene on the beach and "just keeping the British end up Sir!" Definitely groundbreaking IMHO and I think I jizzed from patriotism at the time!
