Hill 16 eh? Congrats on beating coming out of the bag hurling-wise. I knew it was going to happen. Florida is pretty hot and at times can be dry so I've been de-taping and applying oil every few months- broke someone's hurl in Dec too, just like you mention. Thanks for the input.
Thanks for your input rover. Since my first post I've tried bare wood which was great, but when the weather got cooler, my hands were slipping all over the place. Tried hockey stick tape- great stuff, but hard on the hands initially, and later that soft griptape stuff similar to tennis raquet tape.
you should put linseed oil on your hurl it makes it stronger so when you go in for a clash the other guys hurl is much more likely to snap....as for the sliothar theres not mch you can do but buy another one if the seems burst.
also deargciarog it would help 2 change da grip once it starts 2 wear r even if its 2 slippy ..it helps to put normal black tape on da end of da hurl so it makes it stronger.
Let me ask you hurlers- what's the best way to take care of the caman and sliotars? Do you treat the hurly like wood furniture? Do ya oil/stain up or do nothin cause it is doomed to get beat up. Same thing with sliotars- It's the rainy season here in Florida. Do ya wax-up the seams? Does the cork inside explode if the ball is too wet for too long? Thank you in advance. BTW- u have some of the best drills here. You're helping the sport worldwide greatly. Thank you.
