average value meal 5 -6 bucks

  • Freshness? Mos? Some pretty hood burgers.

  • Hahah. "Freshness burger is KIIING." ugh, after watching all your vlogs, I just wanna fly to Tokyo and do everything you've done! You give such a fresh perspective on everything over there. I've always wondered how hard it is to learn Japanese? When compared to English?

  • Hello kenji

  • ur retarded dude...i like u!

  • This place seems like Five Guys burgers ad fries here in virginia, amazing food at good prices

Also, mcdonalds is amazingly cheap here in the US :D

  • Its funny a Starbucks grande is a tall in the usa. So their largest size is the smallest in america. Wow we must be fucking fat.

  • I tried freshness burger this spring....it was just across my hotel, the peninsula.....and it rocks ...thnx for recommendation

  • You look like Nicolas Cage in this one lol.

    Hi Kenji!

  • Hambugga! :D

  • there always has to be a BIG ASS coke lol its just a neccesity to an American meal

  • Rice patty "buns" and pork cooked in ginger. Sounds pretty good.

  • in australia, 2 burgers a large coke and regular chips would be like $12.50!

  • 8 dollars isnt cheap? WTF for all that of course it is

  • Mos burger is disgusting :( My favorite restaurant is a small one in my city, Called Cheese Roll, or Noodle Shop うどん屋 , it has many names, and sells many things. I have a question to... how is my Japanese?

  • OMG /want.

  • Mos burger's teriyaki burger was the best burger I've eaten!

  • MOS stands for Mountain Ocean Sun.

  • wow...ok so I went 3 months STARVING in Japan and never found this place? VEGETARIAN BURGERS IN JAPAN!? This blows my mind. I was SUFFERING in Tokyo trying to find vegetarian food (mostly I ate Indian Food...)...and here, a fast food place with veggie options! FML.

  • 8 bucks for 2 handmade burgers, fries, and a Coke? That would cost 10-12 euros in Ireland. That's like 13-14 bucks.....I gotta get outta this place. lol

What's it like getting a job in the service industry in Japan? Would they hire westerners in shops or restaurants? I'm thinking of taking a working holiday sometime soon.

  • Freshness Burger is KING!! :D

  • ummm that is cheap!!! especially for tokyo. two burgers a shitload of fries and a drink dayuum. you dont like fast food, but youre obviously impatient.

  • Mos burger is the best! best service and best fried chicken! only down side is, its kind of expensive and the portions are kind of small, but mosburger ftw!

  • Where can you get a burrito?

  • i can understand the coke, burger and fries at MOS Burger but adding a couple of onion rings and chicken drumstick? And its a set? I DEMAND THAT MOS BURGER EXPAND THEIR CHAIN IN AMERICA!

  • @595moore

Nice one. I hope they open MOS burger restaurants here in the UK as well.

  • yeah, fish&chips suck

  • for a second there it looked like the other fish was belly up...

  • wonder if those places had any regular burgers...like a simple quarter pounder with cheese

  • Hambaga..Hambaga!! :-p

  • that mosburger looks and sounds delicious o,..,o

  • thats actually very good for $8

  • 8 DOLLARS?? O_________OOO are you crazy for all that??? In Canada you could get half of that for $8

  • in germany you get 3/4 for that price.

of course not nearly as good as mos/freshness burger

  • mos burger ftw

  • Those burgers look good. And sweet potato fries! They sound really good.

  • Sweet potato fries are SO GOOD.

But I haven't had them in Japan. I haven't been to Japan (overnight, stop-overs don't count) for 4 years.

  • I've been in Japan a few times and I can't read any Japanese. Everything's still real easy!

  • That burger at Freshness Burger (on the right) looked really good. :P

  • I love Kenji

  • If you decide to make another burger run and want something special, check this out: watch?v=qsu2cHI10RM&NR=1

  • hahahha, you still have the fake fish in there with kenji.

  • NEO? lol

  • i dont no why but u look like the guy with the glasses :D

  • I find it fascinating the way the shops mix english and japanese together like its one language. Like on the MOSBurger menu it said "Hamburgers", but then under that, ALL the burger names were in japanese!!! They didnt even write it in romaji to give us poor gaijin a fighting chance at being able to understand it! ;-p

  • I'm Japanese. The menu is very unkind to foreigners as you pointed it out. I didn't notice it until you did. I'm afraid there might be many similar things like this in Japan. MOS should notice they'd miss a lots prospective foreigner customers due to that small thing.

  • I dont believe that any stores in Japan be REQUIRED to have their signs in english. I just think its funny to see the 2 languages mixed. When I was in Paris and Rome, only a couple of restaurants had menus in english. In Paris it wasnt a big problem since I speak some French. But in Rome I often had to guess at what I was ordering(most of the waiters in Paris and Rome were old and didnt speak english). But I EXPECTED it to be that way, so I didnt mind, and I had a GREAT vacation!!!

  • I can understand eating or ordering unknown things is one of the pleasures on an overseas tour, but I, for one, think that my country should become a more foreigner-friendly country. Japanese government has a big goal to increase the number of foreign tourists from 8 millions/yr to 10 millions/yr by 2010. Im afraid they dont see the reality, their voice is big, though.

  • Well its easy, you go by the price ^_~ just kidding.

  • I just got back from Shinjuku for five days R&R and had to say I wish I had of gone the burger route. 60$USD for breakfast every morning is a little much!

  • ...where in Shinjuku did they charge you $60 for breakfast??! There are bread shops in the station where u can get excellent quality brekky snacks like croissants and danishes for a few hundred yen...!

  • Mmmm.... Mos Cheeseburger - totemo oishii !!

Love scraping the chili off the bottom of the burger "envelope".

  • Burger king was gone ? It was back at least last year.. found one in Akiba and i've heard there where more around at that time...

  • i looove japan, some day i'm gonna go there.BTW your video is so funny, you must have learned a lot about there great culture.

    thanx

  • that is cheap, here to eat at a mc donalds just to get a big mac is pretty frieken expensive...

  • MOS - Mountain, Ocean, Sun. (:

  • yehman. 8 dollars for a burger/fry/coke is expensive, but you got a second burger there. that's a decent price. about what you'd pay in canada. a fastfood burger meal will run you 5-8 dollars depending on the burger. restaurant burger platter will cost you 8-12 dollars.

  • you'd pay at least 10 quid for that in Ldn

  • Haha, yea if you're an American you do have to have a burger. You just do lol.

  • And a big ass Coke lol

  • lol kenji is thinking mhmmm yupyup just me pimpin in my new tank... but then he knows like 50 other fish have died in there so he gets even more depressed ....

  • haha kenji !!!! still not dead yet HURRAY hes happeh :)

  • I always seem to watch this video every time I eat a burger.

  • $8 for 2 burgers, a coke and fries???THAT IS SO CHEAP, especially as they are freshly made and it's sweet potato fries...

  • yeah they are not trying to rip people off like in eu and the us

  • @tokyorose2008 thats not that cheap. mcdonalds in america has double burgers around that size for one dollar. that much soda is about 2 dollars. and id say that many fries is something like 3 dollars. maybe 4 since its sweet potato fries so its about the same.

  • those burgers look fucking awesome

  • if you eat hamburger twice in one day, i think..., potato is not good for you...

  • MOS stands for Mountain, Ocean, Sun

  • モス is king!

  • October 30, Hamburger Day! :D

  • Not that bad of a price. Hell a meal from burger king cost 8 bucks and you only get 1 burger and that looks much better, not grease balls.

  • is mos burger talking about mossberg shotguns?

  • Mountain Ocean Sun?

  • An a big ass coke

  • No way dude - Mos Burger is the best!!!!! ;-)

Btw. you should have ordered a melon-soda instead of a coke!!!

Thanks for posting this video - it was fun to watch!!! :-)

  • cool i´d like to go there

  • i live in australia

  • the cashier looked cute

  • 8 dollars for all that seems really cheap! where i live that coke would be like $6.50 and burgers $4 each lol

  • wow where u live?

  • WTF!?

  • Wow... That fried chicken looked AWESOME.

  • cute girl working there

  • hi lil gaijin fishy.

  • i love your show.

  • everything tastes like ocean...nice

  • how in the FUCK did that fish learn english so fast?!?!?!?!?

  • hahahahhaaha

  • The crazy thing is that he looks exactly like my friend Kevin, who happens to have a similar last name, but it's not the same guy (obviously). ^_^ All the more reason to watch, I suppose. I'll have to show the (other) Kevin these vids. lol

  • oh yumm! I want to go there. Freshness Burger Rules!

  • yeah man your my favorite youtuber! i love japan and I love comedie

  • i agree. :D

  • MOS is Mountain Ocean Sun

  • LOL u think 8 dollars is super cheap man...u should visit eastern europe, romania to eat with 20$ nothing :)

  • There's plenty of other options if you ever get tired of the usual Japanese food... Wendy's, TGIF's, McDonald's, BurgerKing, Denny's, Outback, all these major chain restaurants are in Tokyo. You can always have other international food too, of course: Indian, Italian, French, Brazilian, Mexican, Chinese...

    Bon appétit! =)

  • i recently had the pleasure of eating freshness burger and I must agree "FRESHNESS BURGER IS KING."

    I love your vids.

  • im pretty sure there is mcdonalds in japan.. especially tokyo...

  • simply genius!

  • 1. 423,000,000

    2. 31,800,000

  • Hello Kenji! X3 Wow that little guy is living for a good while.

  • what song is in the background at 0:53?

  • It sounds like you've set yourself up for a bad experience. Do you even speak Japanese? Do you try to go out? Ever thought of living in a place outside of Tokyo area? Not trying to attack what you're saying, just interested in more details of your experience.

  • man even my Jap friends admit that Japan is boring and years behind (lifestyle wise) ...I'm getting out of here soon (Finland possibly) Europe is cool you have tons of different countries to go to there...drive anywhere France, Italy the Balkans ..fuck JP 6days work 8-10hr days

  • If you hate Tokyocooney and Japan so much, why are TONS of videos YOUR favourites on your page ?

    Idiot .

  • @ImperialPimp o.o who are you talking to?

  • Nice video man especially when you commented on most of Japanese food tasting like ocean, being a guy living in japan myself I can relate to that. A couple of times I went into downtown Yokohama and Tokyo and at times Id get a woof or stench from the sewage underground, call me crazy but it would sometimes smell like ocean with a terrible twist, that same day i went into a combini to buy an onigiri and the smell was very similar to the sewage stench, you can bet that day I went for a burger.

  • You must have a really fast metabolism.

  • MOS = Mountain Ocean Sun

  • yeah u are right man

  • MOS means: mom of superhamburgers!!!

    lol

  • Hahaha...rice burger and sweet potato fries!!??

  • in colombia haburgers way better and bigger are about a dollar

  • papa frita =] od mayo tho lol

  • its a different type of mayo yup but its awesome i love it!! u from colombia?

  • nope Ecuador but we are neighbors so i buy it there toooo

  • nice .. my amigo un gusto parce

  • claro nano

  • yeah but you gotta think that this is good quiality, a hamburger dollar doesnt sound with hygiene and good place where to seat and good quiality...

  • yup depends where u go .. i used to go to a very clean and nice place .. and i knew another that was and is disgusting but oh well

  • MOS means Massively Oversized ShXX

  • 8 dollars is how much a combo meal from most places (not counting McDonalds, but that's cardboard anyway) costs here in Canada. As far as I can tell Japan is about on par with most things price wise as here in Canada but some important things are way cheaper like cigarettes and alcohol. (We have high as hell tobacco tax here.)

Just a question, what exactly do you do for work there? Teach English?

  • :) haha burger

  • looks good

  • i ate @ the mos burger in roppongi n it was good

  • me too!

  • oo should try out the pizzas in japan, they have so much random toppings and flavours

  • Hey Cooney, this is my first time watching your blogs. Funny stuff I actually met you randomly at Tasu Ichi in Shibuya earlier this month with Roman and them...anyway I just popped in to say you're way off base, Mos Burger beats the crap out of Freshness Burger!

  • Holy shit 8 dollars for all that! In Australia 1 burger is 10 bucks!

  • haha its like DMV. im not much of a raw foods guy so I would probably go for these types of foods most of the time

  • Mountain Ocean Sun Burger???

  • The fishy lives O_O

  • The really funny thing is that these days, 8 bucks would buy one burger a Coke and fries.

  • So True. LOL

  • second from the bottom on the Mos Burger list...the....Fresh Burger? Are all the other ones 3 days old or what

  • M ountain

    O cean

    S ky

    , right?

  • is MOS= Made Of Snake or something ???

  • OH EM EFF GEE!.

MOS Burger..... That harpy nation calls to me so much since I left, but food is the biggest temptation, I cant remember the last time I had real Yakisoba, the local Japanese restaurant seems to fail to get it right.

Great video's man, watch them for the nostalgic reminder of my own stay, but they are steadily pushing me to the idea of going back.

    Keep posting more!. :)

  • wow i love mos burger:)

It is indeed a burger day!!!

  • yay! MOS burger! franchise in chicago please!

  • its kenji still alive?

  • Cheaper than over here.

  • MOS=Mountain Ocean Sun

  • 8 bucks for all that?

Thats a fuckin sweet ass deal, for Canada it is at least.

  • Yeah, two years ago this was expensive, but now a combo at McDonald's will run $6-7 easily.

  • OMG what do you think of the rice burger and how easy or hard do you think if someone like me tried to make one! XD?

  • chick at 1.04 looks hawt ;)

and, PSH! only place to get a good burger is in Texas!!!

    Scotty P's ftw

  • I never ate at Freshness. Mosburger was good. My favorite Japanese fast food burgers are the teriyaki with egg burgers, and Wendy's deep fried pork with cabbage and that sauce they put on deep fried pork stuff.

  • is do not know how they taste ... but they do not look very good...

  • Say hi to Kenji for me.

  • Spicy Mos Cheeseburger is the best :3

  • YEAH!!!

  • MOS- mountain ocean sun.

tsukune is the best burger there.

  • 8 bucks isn't too expensive, i can barely get a subway sandwich here without spending over 10 dollars.

  • Oooo! Cool.

I heard Lotteria is okay...*shrug* But what do I know, I don't live in Japan. XD Cheers! Love your videos!

  • Cooney looks like Nicolas Cage.

Screw all ya'll fake Japanese burgers. It's all about In-n-out, suckaaaaaas. Ooh. Damn. I'm gonna go get one right effin now.
