The US exports lots of High Tech Equipment and commodities, to quote the NY Times, "American exports rose 12.7 percent in 2006 because of the cheaper dollar, which made commodities like corn and wheat much more affordable to international buyers."

A depreciating currency is a natural phenomena that would increase exports and decrease imports to maintain an equilibrium. This process usually only flows in harmony when you have a sound monetary policy.

Currently, our policy for some time has allowed us to borrow money to consume. We run the biggest govt budget deficits in history, and an unmanageable trade deficit.
