  • A joy to hear and watch. You live the music. BRAVO

  • I forgot to say bravo before, so I'll say it now. BRAVO! This is exactly the Finlandia I have in my mind and it really touches me to hear an interpretation like this.

Finlandia gives me strong memories and feelings, it reminds me especially of my grandfather who was a veteran of the Winter War (WW II). Finlandia is always played in Finland on Independence day. Thank you for this!

  • Why does he flail his arms all over the place after he plays a note?

  • @skilltone4 And?

  • @basso64 - I'm not being judgmental, but various eminent organ teachers down the years (including C. M. Widor) say that body movements at the console should be kept to a minimum, making only the most necessary movements, that all else is a waste of energy. However, I'm not an organist so I can't comment! =)

  • @EccentricRichard

But if you have lots of energy! Do you think his playing is bad, or should we remove the video and just listen to the music itself :P

  • @basso64 - I think he is a great organist and fun to watch. Don't you dare remove the video :-)

  • My singing teacher used to say the same: no movements during singing. I think that teachers like that have it wrong. If you feel the music inyour body (many gifted musicians do), you should not tighten up your body. It gives you great strength and vitality to your performance. If you force your body not to move while playing, it is repressing and it tightens your body and creates tensions. That limits your expression. If you have tried dance therapy or yoga, you know what I mean.

  • @skilltone4 I remember how my singing teacher used to say the same: no movements during singing. I think that teachers like them have it wrong: it is vital that you let your body move to the music because it gives a lot of strength to the music and interpretation. If you feel the music in the body (many gifted musicians do), you should not prevent the body from moving: it prevents you from letting the music come through you. If you have ever tried dance therapy or yoga you know what I mean.

  • @skilltone4 Who cares??? Just listen if his body movements bother you. I find him a joy and inspiration to watch him play, especially his pedal board technique...

  • EXCELENTE!!!!! SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO :) HERMOSO SONIDO!!!

BELLO ÓRGANO, TAN SUBLIME, TAN PULCRO!

    POR EXCELENCIA...

  • This is absolutely incredible. You do great justice to the composition, the composer, and the instrument.

  • Triple bravo!

  • This is just fantastic...

  • Great! I have liked Finlandia since I was a boy. Your style reminds me of the late, great Virgil Fox! More Romantic pieces.

  • This is an awesome performance! I have watched it many times and it always a pleasure. Blessings from Wisc

  • If I was in that building and heard this plying, I'd piss my pants

  • It looks funny when those "handles" moves alone. This is great.

  • Sir, it is such a joy to hear an organ arrangement of Finlandia created and masterfully performed by someone who truly understands instrumentation and orchestration in light of the original orchestral setting. So many organists botch registrations when interpreting this piece, but you have stopped at nothing to faithfully craft and recreate the perfect sound for each phrase, and the instrument responds with mind-boggling agility. Your performance leaves nothing to be desired. Bravo!

  • @welldontdothat I Could not have said it better! Bravo!!

  • Amazing!

  • Wow, absolut fantastikt!!

Just amazing how you play the organ.

Thanks for this superb performance of Finlandia.

In my youth I took pipe organ lessons. September 2009, after 25 years, I started to take lessons again and I love it. Can you imagine that I breathlessly watched you playing. Hope you visit the Netherlands once to give a performance. The organ of St Bavo in Haarlem (near Amsterdam) must be very good, so.........

  • Trevligt!

Could you send me a picture and stop list of the organ and I can forward it on to him. You are a magnificient organist...thank you!
