  • For me they speak French very well, especially at 1'38

  • I'm french and she don't speak very well french :) ! but i love it

  • @Disney4ever0404 Je suis totallement d'accord :p

  • Just a small change: you wrote "funky musique" but in french we put the the adjective after the noun...

  • OMG Cheryl's accent at 1:38 ! omg stunning, I LOVE IT *_* (I am french xD)

  • @recklessoldier so she speaks really good or not?

  • @norkis2696 she does! with a good accent :p

  • I like this wayyyy better than the english version

  • J'adore francais :)<3

  • I don't know French, just a few basic words and sentences, I chose German instead of French at my school, but man that language sounds super sexy!

  • love this French version, do they have some other song in FR?

  • @SasaSakiSale it really is good isn't it! Unfortunately, no :(

  • A big thumbs up for trying to sing along to the lyrics!!! (Keep trying, you'll get there!)

  • No, the irony is not wasted on me.

  • Trop cool en français!

  • Mmmmm! French feels good on the tongue!

  • Mmmmm! French feels good on the ears!

  • And yes there is some mistakes (I'm french)

It's : J'adore si longtemps, si puissant (and not c'est puissant)

C'est juste qu'il veut causer, et je l'avoue, je comprends rien mais alors rien du tout (and not vraiment rien du tout)

Nos langues nous séparent, repasseront (and not nous repasserons)

But it's pretty good for an english

  • @Spraaw oh okay, thank you, i would change them but it takes ages to get them all into the right timing and things!

  • @Spraaw Even saying 'et je l'avoue' doesn't really make much sense - they should say something like - et en plus c'est vrai. That could make more sense

  • @Spraaw there are some mistakes, not there is. still. pretty good for a french person

  • French changes voices... but it's an amazing song in french and english :)

  • it french class our teacher was blasting it for us to listen to cuz we hadda translate it

  • Oh, the irony...

  • They say "Je ne parle francais" But I think they's speaking brilliant french :)

  • they dont speak french but they do speak french. I´m confused.

    GENÏAAAALLLL!!111!!!!

  • Am I right in thinking Nicola seems to be saying a little more in this version?

  • @selbydate16 she may be, i haven't really thought about it... but she is the only one who can actually speak decent french :P

  • J'adore ca! Les mots sont tres bien! x

  • i like cheryl's part :D

  • I remember when this was first released.

It was played on Radio 1 and Fern Cotton said Funky Music in a funny voice.

  • @DeviantRichard Yeah so do I.

  • Comment removed

  • Cheryl's french is awesome just like her...i love her <3<3 !! kim's french is not bad too!!

  • its not cant speak french, its i dont speak french, i cant speak french is je ne puex pas parler francais.

  • @DemonSheep22 well i didnt think it was right, but when you buy the singles box set, it is on one of the CD's and on the back is says 'je ne parle pas francais' so, i just put what it said on there? x

  • Cheryl actually has a good accent. Nadine has a strong accent ^^ but overall it's really sweet.

  • This Is Awesome :D

  • I can only understand "funky music" but either way it sounds good to me!

  • @msinarath haha same, its the only french i can speak;)

  • @msinarath

Actualy that is english there is no french word for funky and music is a cognate

  • wheres nicola i cant really hear her voice could someone point it out please shes my favourite

  • @6darina i dont think her or sarah has a solo part in this song, sorry :/ xx

  • @6darina shes sings 1 chord on the bridge...from 0.45 - 0.49....lol

  • at 1:02 she starts the 2nd "echo refrain" with Nadine and Sarah and then they all harmonize into the next bit and her voice in predominate in the chorus in both versions. well at least to me i also hear a lot of Nadine to but Nicola is in there... :) just listen to the original she has the same parts.. singing in a different language can make the tone sound different... sometime better..

  • @6darina Her solo in the original english version it would be "You totally got me stuck in a rut"

  • @6darina Nicola has one solo line in the song: "You got me stuck in a rut" near the beginning ... 0:46 - 0:48

  • @aussieapril Noooooooo it is Sarah who is singing this part!!!!

  • @6darina Shesings 'Got me stuck in a rut' in the original solo. Not sure about this version, though

  • @6darina she sings " comme on pourrait danser " haha

  • haha, and the person telling them how it should be spoken kept telling cheryl off because it wasnt right:')

  • Cheryl gots the better accent (I'm French)

  • this makes me realize i don't know shit about french.. haha i actually think they sound great, and the people who speak french down here say they talk/sing funny

  • I love it!

  • Umm i had french that day and we had to sing it

  • Lol heard that in french

  • It's so cute !! elles se débrouillent quand même pas mal en français, par contre je sais pas si elles savent vraiment parler français ! But it's a very good sound !!

  • this is sooo fucking funny, not that I'm the best french speaker myself o.O [nooo way] but they all sound hilarious especially nadine :DD she's still got the same accent as in english and it kinda doesn't go any well with french :P I think chezza's the best speaker honestly, but they all did a good job, just can't stop laughing though :DDDDD LMFAO, but they're gr8 for even trying :P <333 ga, get better soon cheryl!!! XXXX

  • lol their accent is not that bad even if some words are not easy to understand!(im french) but it sounds better in english!

  • Their accent kinda.... sucks. :|

    Good song though. :)

  • @781230xy lol soo true :DDD but I think chezza's alright, it sounds the most like french out of all of them I think... :)

  • I like this version with the words. A lovely song.

  • J'adore cheryl et kimberley <3 .. J'adore cette chanson en anglais et francais ..

And btw the lyrics are all right too .. great job with the video

  • J'adore Nicola et Cheryl << Oh Yes I'm Git Clever Me ;]

  • is it actually them? as in did they record a version in french?

  • yes I once saw an interview about this...

  • @freak7391 Yeah. It's Them.

  • @freak7391 can't you recognize their voices?

  • YES - and it's not actually that bad! Well, when you compare it with Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend in French, it could be world class!

  • i loves girls aloud

  • j'adore GA

they r the BEST and this sounds really authentic....

    FANTASTIQUE

  • It sounds FAIRLY authentic... if you speak some French, you can tell they're not native, but overall it's an extremely good job. I mean, they're not meant to be linguists, are they?!

  • hahaa, i cant believe you actually made it ! lol make our french teacher go on it in class and just listen to music all day call it educational ... gonna learn it now ... good vid, greaaat singerrs :)

  • luke19wales is a twat who doesnt know anything

  • well said :)

  • @GAarethebestbandeva jesus calm down :/

  • yea i said that quite a while agoo :)

  • i wouldn't blame it on them a french tutor person told them what to say and how to say it

  • Even tho, I'm French, without the lyrics, we don't understand the lyrics, god they should have got some lessons of pronunciation B4, like Enrique Iglesias did !!!

Now I just wanna say 'je parle en francais' euh ... NON je n'crois pas, non !!!

  • LMAO, I think I'm gonna actually follow your advice...

    lol

  • they are good in both french and english.. although better in english- if you dont like them in english then why th heck arre you even listening to them at all ?!

  • @Luke19Wales

what u mean by bubblegum music?

  • @MissCheekyChelz there is no deep meaning to the music, it's just superficial.

  • @Luke19Wales aaah kay. i actually agree with u tbhh :/

  • The lyrics are not translated from Can't Speak French. Actually, they are very different. For example, in the single the do not say: I love the little french accent!

And in this song the say: I CAN speak french but i'll the funky music do the talking anyway, understand? Something like that...

  • i know they arnt trnslated properly but that is what they are saying, maybe there aren't words in french for some english words ?

  • (Speaking to etreduardo!) They do say 'I can't speak French', but because the direct translation into French is rather long (Je ne parle pas francais), they leave out the 'ne', which is almost optional in French. So, they say it properly, but they abbreviate it, rather like 'I don't speak...' is short for 'I do not speak...'

  • It doesn't sound french at all xD

  • how many of them actually speak french?

  • From what I've been told by one of Nadine's cousin, none of them do; they had to learn the song phonetically.

  • Nicola speaks french. It is said in the Girls Aloud's documentary. And Kimberly also. I think so at least. hahaha

  • Im not sure about kimberley, but nicola went to a language school

  • yeah, well, no one forces them to sing in French if they can't !!!

About Nicola & Kimberly spealing French, I have some doubt about how true it can be ...

I guess they can only say , 'Hello, my name is ... I'm English, I love France ...'

  • You know nadine's cousin ?? =O OMG ! WOW , i know its not knowing nadine herself, but its close ,lol

  • Nicola can speak french

  • I think it's good, english is better, but Cheryl's right, in an interview with Paul OGrady, she said: I don't know how that sounds to a french person, but it doesnt sound french!

My cousin is french and he listened to it and later on text me asking me to send him the lyrics because he didnt understand the words pmsl

    ily cheryl = my idol
