After all, music video's are short musical films, but most of what I see has no story, no characters, no planning and no excitement.

LRA was formally a small rebel force , that was more of a nuisance to the ugandan government than a real threat until the arab gov't of northern sudan began fully funding it and supplying weapons. The northern sudanese did this as a retaliation to the ugandan government support of SPLA (southern sudanese) a group that has been persecuted and massacred by the northerners simply because they were black and christian. Uganda has kicked the LRA out of its territory. LRA then escaped into DRC.

There is no doubt there are some blacks who are involved in criminal activity.
There is always a small group criminals in every community and ethnic group.
The majority of black folks live a normal live like everybody else.
I am not saying crime is OK.
I'm saying there is no link between any skin color and and criminality.

I like people,after i get to know them, based on their personality not on their skin color.

Hoo-Ray!!! - Some of these video's cost a lot but look like peanuts so it is actually just as easy to make something that is exciting, preserves and illustrates culture and has a long life.
After all, music video's are short musical films, but most of what I see has no story, no characters, no planning and no excitement.

moveurfeet - Well it is fine if you like it but from a cultural point of view it's a sell out. Africans often leave their culture behind in favour of this cheap American imported blandness which mostly does not work, and this video looks just the same (and as cheap) as most USA stuff.
It shows nothing except excess - no personality, no depth and therefore very uninteresting.
To me it is a rubbish video, and because I like the group, it is depressing.

I understand. I think it's a "curse" upon all the dance musics. But as the African musics carry much personnality, and don't loose their roots, it seems too bad that the clips aren't more typical and interesting. I hope it's possible to make sensual clips with nice dancing, but with clothes more beautiful, and situations more traditionnal, not artificial.

I watched and liked on your channel "Abou Thioubalo : solution", and "Orchestra Baobab Live, Hutru horas" (it reminded me of the nice musics from Cuba and from Cabo Verde, and of a concert of the Orchestra Baobab in Paris, at the "Cabaret Sauvage" in the "La Villette parc", where I went and enjoyed myself not so long ago -less than one year ago-).

@throbule : Your channel is good. Yes, the Orchestra B. evokes Buena Vista S. C., as it (O.B.) plays African "Afro-Cuban" music. I did'nt write "caress", but "talk". Yet you understood what I expressed, because I could have written "caress" instead of "talk", because this talking-to-the-heart was related to the homeland and to the beloved woman. But "caress" implies ONLY satisfaction, whereas the kinda music on your channel make me ALSO sensitive and bluesy, feeling that I miss various things.

@throbule (2nd part) : You know, it's like the "pain of love, of separation, etc..." : it's terrible, but it's worthy to be able to experience it. But I can't stay all the time with such feelings : I need also to harden myself from times to times, and to dare being superficial --and joyful without any special reason to be joyful ; or just joyful to be, in the present-- ; commercial musics help me for this. So with musics, I come and go from one state of mind to another, so as to find a balance.

But nice expressive musics full of meaning and of soul talk directly to my soul, and can make me travel through time, calling good memories -and regrets for they relate to things that are already over-, judging the present, and looking towards the future with both hopes and worries. And as those clips's "spirit" is both superficial, lively and light, it makes one forget his struggle for life, and feel good.

The business sexy dance video-clips make me smile and give me energy, like nights-out in discothèques during summer holidays. Just a different feeling, for a different use. But you're right, too many people focuse only on commercial videos.

Can someone please tell me what is the best source of information to go to regarding what is happening in the Congo with the LRA etc. ?
Also, does anyone know why nothing seemingly seems to be happening to prevent all of this happening ? Who is to blame. Who are and where did the LRA come from ? Who is fuelling, suuporting, backing and giving them weapons ?

LRA was formally a small rebel force , that was more of a nuisance to the ugandan government than a real threat until the arab gov't of northern sudan began fully funding it and supplying weapons. The northern sudanese did this as a retaliation to the ugandan government support of SPLA (southern sudanese) a group that has been persecuted and massacred by the northerners simply because they were black and christian. Uganda has kicked the LRA out of its territory. LRA then escaped into DRC.
