  • I don't find his style of argumentation here very appealing, since our universe in and of itself may indeed be abstract in the same sense as "mathematical objects".

It does after all seem that the universe follows mathematical rules.

  • @TheSameDonkey Our universe is concrete. It's tangible and has physical properties. That's the exact opposite of being abstract.

  • @philochristos Ahh, but the distinction is based on our perceptions.

A literary character could make the same argument to another and it would have the same validity.

Abstract and concrete are concepts for which I have found no fundamental means to distiguish without presupposing one or the other as more valid.

Put more simply: what would distingish an actual event from a 100% accurate simulation?

  • @TheSameDonkey Well, you almost say it dont you. A 100% faithful simulation is no simulation at all. It is the occurrence.

The most accurate simulation, while remaining one, would be 99.999(rep) accurate.

  • Entropy can only be over come in open systems that allow information and energy in and out. There fore the Universe could not have any order with out an out side influence.

  • What do you think he means by "greater than the universe"?

  • I think he means just that...

What/whomever created matter/energy, space, and time must supersede all attributes of matter/energy, space, and time.

...because something that does not exist, cannot bring itself into existence through it's own means as said means don't exist if it does not exist....
