a tip for u and anyone who is going to by the dazzle.. u dont have to have the 3 splitters or doubler headed rca cables u have to have the xbox cables that have composite and component cables... u have to have the switch on the cord to standard definition.. then plug the component cables(red green blue) to the tv.. thenb plug the composite cables(red white yellow) into the dazzle then plug the dazzle into your pc.. and wallah.. and u can have up 1080p quality with the dazzle.just ask me how

Does anyone have any comparison for the Dazzle HD thing to the HD PVR? I want to get a good quality recorder, but I don't want to shell out 200 Bucks, not yet at least, I just don't have enough stuff to actually use it for. Very few of my games go HD.

Dazzle with the S-Video is actually VERY good considering the price.. a lot of people complain and say the dazzle quality sucks, well that's because you're using the stand component cables... use S Video and see the difference!

@karolinegc The HD PVR is soley for recording gameplay in high defenition, the pvr ONLY records (not just gameplay, anything he can show on his TV screen) and it dosnt have to be blueray or anything and if you buy the 'gaming edition' of the PVR you will get all the cables needed to set it up to a PS3 and xbox 360 (and the software needed), just check that his TV has 'component' slots in the back (they are usually Green, blue, white and red) and he is set up to record, hope this helped!

My son wants an HD PVR for Christmas. He had been using the Dazzle so I guess he is ready to move to the PVR. I understand he can "make movies" from his XBox gaming. I assume he then could post them on YouTube? What else does the HD PVR do? Can I put my VHS home videos on DVD's through the PVR? Does it have to be Blue Ray (no clue what that is) or can I just use a blank disk. Does he have to buy anything else for it to work? He has the XBox (Live) and a monitor screen.

if you have a dazzle, ALWAYS do these 2 steps to get best quality:

1. Use the S-video cable, it looks alot better

2. Deinterlace your video. JES Deinterlacer is good.

You can get beast quality with an easycap too, you just have to know the right program and render settings, if you look at my quality, thats the best you can possible get from an easycap. It shows you dont have to spend soo much on a HD recorder when you can get something cheap that does a great job.
