Look at it this way, the original man had one commandment to follow. He failed and traded innocence for knowledge (that is why we have a conscience; which means "with knowledge") The original polutant that brought about suffering and pain was and still is "SIN". Sin is the transgression, or breaking of God's law. Suffering and pain are in the world because the world is broken and poluted by sin. And we sin because we are poluted in our very natures, we are sinners, so God offered us His remedy.
Songs that elicit an emotional love for God don't save people. The gospel in it's raw truth, accompanied by a supernatural work of God is the only power there is to save you.

Make restitution by fixing any problems caused by your sin.
Problems caused by sin include physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual damage.
If you can't rectify the problem sincerely ask forgiveness of those wronged and try to find another way to show your change of heart.

Do you have true sorrow for what you've done and for disobeying Heavenly Father?
Do you have true sorrow for any pain you may have caused toward other people?
Confess to God

Pray to Heavenly Father and be honest with him.
Tell him of your sin(s).
