  • what a voice! great singer and a genuinely good person.

  • memories are made of this.....

  • Incredible I was a part time DJ years ago with my brother and this was one of the most popular songs requested at weddings Thanks Larry

  • This song was my parents wedding song. Great song.

  • thank for posting this song bring back so many memories

  • thanks for this song

  • thans for posting larry graham i love this sonng

  • In my opinion, Larry Graham should have cut many more songs of this style. As a singer from the old streetcorner days, when vocals were as important as instrumental work, I do appreciate the quality of Larry's voice, especially in this song, which even today evokes an emotional reaction from me. Hard times in certain aspects of one's life can cause that, and it's all too true that each one of us is "one in a million" in this vastly populated world. He just brought it home for some of us.

  • Perfect. I've never heard a shorter four minute song in my life.

  • Every time I hear this song it takes me back to when I started dating my husband.

Every night after work we would go to the local bar and he would always put this song on. At first I really didn't pay attention to it. Then one night he took me into his arms and said... "

Now I understand why things in my life have happen. Because You are my one in a million. I will never leave you and I will always be by your side."

    that was 31 years ago.

  • rest in peace papa..

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • SWEETNESS ALL WAY..And if this tune dosent just want to hold your love and never let go..WELL THAT IS JUST SOOOOO, SOOOOO SAD

  • the "voice" of Sly and the family Stone but most of all one of the greatest (electric) bass players ever

  • i think everyones dad song this song to their mom!!! classic

  • For all these years, I thought it was Lou Rawls singing this!

  • Perfection. . .absolute perfection. So glad I was of age when this music was being played on the AM stations. I was schooled in the art of R&B by artists like Larry Graham. ;-)

  • This is any great song... brings lots of memories while growing up in the mid west.. outstanding

  • There is a dude, middle age-ish, that does this one in the karaoke bars on the North side of Chicago. He's awesome. Has everyone just mesmerized and feeling it.

  • @kaoamber2011 Congratulations and I wish you all the best life can offer you!

  • LOVE this song!!!!

  • a real sleeper song and one of the best coming from an old cracker.

  • Some may call this mawkish; feel free; but actually, I believe it to be one of the most beautiful songs in rock history. Thanks for the memories, Larry. - J. G. Lewis

  • I sing a lot, every week. Did it with a band years ago. Now Church & karaoke & sometimes in my favorite black clubs. I LOVE THIS SONG. When I sing it I like the look in black folks eyes & the head nods they give me when I sing that high float line at the end. Singing a lot of Orbison for decades gave me that high float.

  • Words can't explain how this song makes me feel ............. "And oh, what a Revelation to see, Someone was saying "I Love You " to me".

Something tells me BKW that you meant it. Lovin You Always

    Excellent song, beautiful lyrics ...............

  • @LadyMoe2012 My favorite part is:

"...A one in a million, chance of a lifetime; And life showed compassion, And sent to me.... you..."

    Actually though, all of life is of Grace, even more so one's wife;

the lyrics are quite accurate. - John L.

  • My mom told me when I was small only this song would make me keep quiet and behave. She said it was my most favorite song.

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG

  • I will sing this to my love when I propose - at 50...

  • omg i love this song its all i listen to i heard it on my grandmas ipod

  • Maritza0108 I can understand how he could feel this way about our God because once you really know him, you realize just how much he does love us and it makes a lot of sense. Yet at the same time when I was hearing this song for the first time in 1980, it was taken totally different so I suppose this song could mean many different things to whoever listen to it yet it measn something totally different for the Great Larry Graham, the writer.

  • This is a truly great song, he sounds like Lou Rawls

  • @deanslist101 I know its hard for you to understand . . . but Brother Larry Graham did indeed write this song in regards to his newly found christian beliefs as becoming one of Jehovah Witnesses. He has, for many years now, been one of JW and he is talking about "Jehovah God" being "One in a Million" and how he has found "true life" because of finding the true God. He's been interviewed by show hosts on national TV and has confirmed that this is so. However, "youtube" was not around in 1980.
