i miss those old arcade games. now video games are mass produced and there are too much. fuck all the greedy money making low lives. i miss the 80's back when we had only one game system nintendo. therefore all the gamers could have conversations back then and they all played the same games. now there is so much everybody is playing something different and its just ridiculous.
The first time i dropped acid was to this album..exploding dragonflies, the speakers had flowers popping out of them..They were good strawbs !!!..This album is the best techno album ever made..Steve Hurleys remixes off the album are pure essence..Take time out and grab them..2 decades on us old school still bang them on the juke box...QUALITY...
hey kids I'm not that old. I was 17 when this was kicking out in Wigan Pier. Your'e making me feel like I should be taking my pension. Remember nothing s new, it's just re-invented. try listening to the following - New Fast automatic Daffodils. early Charlatans & The Shamen (pre Ebeneezer Scrooge) En-tact album. I had a ball in the late 80's early 90's (Hacienda, 42'nd street etc.) wish I could be 19 again!!!!.
I saw 'Unknown Pleasures with Peter Hook' the other night and my question did not get read out. Does anyone know what the baaaa-ing at the end of this track is all about?
@queensgate1 I watched the actual video for this and at the end a little boy gets in bed so I think it's something to do with going to sleep and counting sheep. Simples!!
@queensgate1 Yeh, I think it probably is. One other thing that always puzzled me though.........at the end of Confusion, Barney says "fuckin' Housemartins" and makes a spitting sound. I always wondered why.
@rudyprotrudy08 well il give it listen as always wondered what was said and being from Hull myself, if thats what Barney says i can understand why . . Hull 0 - London 2 - Manchester 10 ;)
@queensgate1 Weird, cause i am from Hull and live on the outskirts now. I am a hardened metal head lol, have been for 20 years...but i still love this as i was into this just before mt transistion into metal...whitesnakes fault.
With Hendrixs you get a Pyschedelic Explosion of Sounds coming "somehow" from his Marshall Stack of Speakers that are connected to this Fender Stratacastor Electric Guitar. How exactly he was able to CAPTURE THE IMPORTANCE OF TONE makes me so happy I was born. Only NEW ORDER / JOY DIVISION (and on a slightly yet completely lower level DECPECHE MODE) ALSO COMPLETELY HAUNT AND REFLECT the duality of being conscious
This is better than 80's. Its the heralding of the new era... the 90's, where there was more experimentation and diversification than any other decade.
Ran out of room. "The past does not matter" Back then it was fun. Stacks of New Beat, New Wave and Techno vinyl. Always waiting for the next Wax Trax! release. Remember Acid Horse? I can get over the crap.
the only song that i remember was,no name no slogan..ACID HORSE.
>>> Thats one of AL JOURGENSEN'S (MINISTRY)side projects.like REVOLTING COCKS,1001 HOMO DJ'S...right???dogchow11..its the only song under ACID HORSE i think???
I had to double check to confirm it, I was pretty sure, but my mind is going. Alain Jourgensen was involved with everything. No Name No Slogan - only song from that effort, AKA Alien Dog Star, he was also in PTP (Rubber Glove Seduction) I really dug that when it came out about the same time, plus the cover is just too cool. Kinda like Depth Charge with a little upspin to it. Yes you are absolutely correct!
When they were in Austin in 1989/90 or so, saw them at the old coliseum barn/rodeo shed (trust me it was cool, now gone) A little let down, pounding drum machines and much sampling. They did not play much old school New order / Joy division. I really liked this album, and certainly this song still plays well. This was when they took on a new life. Sad.. A generic concert from such a talented group.
I can not remember who opened, The Trill kill Kult at Liberty Lunch 5X better. Also in Denver.
hey dogchow11,I think i seen this same show THRILL KILL KULT in @THE RITZ 34th street in NEW YORK,AND great show...and yes I remember no name no slogan...good song..
TKK could always put on a good show even when their music suffered in the later albums, (They still always played the old stuff, plus it did not matter what they played) RevCo was cool. Remember Machines of Loving Grace? They had that song Butterfly Wings. May have been too many Shiner Bocks, but they were excellent live. I searched YT and found a posting but I think it may be a radio edit. I remember them being much louder and faster, The show sure was.
@dragoon84 bollocks it is unless time is spent watching tmf classics. it is all relative to how specific tunes made you feel at the time. it becomes a bit tedious hearing all the old-ones talk about the late eighties early nineties as if it was some sort of yester-year.
Amazing. Classic recording. Classic acid house dip from one of the few older groups who played their own instruments (including synths). Thanks so much. I have Technique, one of the greatest albums of the 80s and 90s, but my record player broke a while ago.
I got a U.S.B. record player very recently. Happy.
Thanks for your comment. It was so prized, my record, you know, within months of buying it I was aware I was so pleased I got this great 'record' of music, a vinyl record of music. Hopefully to keep, for life, and more. And this stuck in my head I guess. Such a good album & record of that time. I thought I may never need another copy - but recently I didn't think that copies are available, probably for less than 9 pounds, from Amazon etc.
This song is about sheep sex.

New Order epitomised the 1990's ........enough said.
cyno3ure1 1 month ago
@cyno3ure1
You mean the 1980's. They released 6 wicked albums in the 80's and only 2 in the 90's.
New Order are the very definition of the musical sound in the 80's since they created it.
