  • @luyben12 Mar-i-cuh!

  • @luyben12 lol i think it was out goverment :P it seems time and time after time again!! they always manage to bring about an excuse to go into some stupid war on terrorism -_-

  • Funny how republicans are so pro life, but they will execute people based on weak evidence and incompetent attorneys seen in the growing pace of wrongful convictions. I saw one case where parents were convicted of killing child by cutting a triangle in her in a sadistic ceremony. They where convicted.but later exonerated when it was discoved the triangle wound was from the surgeon trying to save child after family dogs attacked her. Go Texas!

  • Well lets hope this actually is put into action.

I mean really business is indeed raping the goverment.

  • About Damn Time!

  • Which retards give contracts to people who defraud you.

That's like letting a pickpocket mind your wallet.

  • one word "GOOD" bout time !!!!!!!!!

  • all those federal contractors defraud the government that is why the get the contracts..there has never been a military contract that didn't run over budget

  • all right thats my dems

  • They will fraud plan for one time & then split!

    The bill is useless!

  • talk about ott

  • But what safegaurds are there to keep the actual people involved from closing one business or corporation, then opening up another one and then again doing business with the Federal Gov?

  • how about taxing churches that take in billions every year...

  • If those who use their pulpits for political speech, that would be entirely fair.

  • people that really need the death penalty, how about the entire Bush administration ! how about henery kissinger, and david rockefeller.fuck em all!

  • YES!

  • I really like Alan Grayson, he's always on the front line of the most interesting and important issues. He's my favorite Democrat.

My favorite republican is Ron Paul.

  • ron paul would abolish the libraries, road work, free public education, food stamps for those who would otherwise starve in our economy, etc. ron paul is not on a "r*evol*ution"

  • What are you talking about? Ron Paul never said any of that. Libraries and schools are not run by the federal government and they never have been. As far as people starving, well, you may have a point there, but I would remind you that without the federal income tax, we would have much more money to put toward charity, which used to be strong in this country.

  • n8glenn,

This issue (public vs private charity) has been studied many, many times and to the best of my knowledge, not even one study has shown that when given tax breaks, people give nearly as much money to private charities as would have gone to social programs through the taxes.

If it worked, I would agree with you, b/c I personally would prefer to choose who gets my $ and how.

    But it doesn't.

  • Well, you might be right about that, but the federal income tax doesn't really go to help people anyway, it goes to the federal reserve, and to israel, saudi arabia, egypt, the military industrial complex, etc. Of course, now that the bail out has been implemented, it will be going to the executives of goldman sachs and wells fargo, etc.

  • I hate to say it, but there's something we should learn from Arabs, Lets chop corporate CEO's hands when there's theft. No wonder they dont steal.

  • yeah, private contractors work outside of congressional oversight, so AMERICAN POLICE FORCE has to go, too

  • alan grayson rocks.

  • Im sick of Democrats and Republicans. I dont get politics in this country. You have to have a religious in order to get credentials! I think everyone should be voted out. They have made us the WORST modernized country in the world. No health care, huge gap between rich and poor, high incarceration rates, high murder rate, 37th best healthcare. I could go on. Fuck them all, put Joe 6pack in there.

  • Lack of Specific Instances?? That's a big "Lol" right there. One of the Haliburton Subsidiaries lost over a Billion! With a "B" that was supposed to go towards infrastructure rebuilding. It's a matter of record. Anyone who just gets defensive & tries to claim this stuff didn't happen is making a MAJOR error. I believe there are a FEW honorable Repubs (a Few) who will get behind this. Of course they will have to stand against the overwhelming number of "Republicranks" In office.

  • theres goin to be alotta ownage!

  • The only problem with this argument is lac of specific instances. It's easy to say that companies defrauded the govt for millions of dollars but you have to give a specific time/date/example with actual figures and back it up to have a strong argument.

  • Wait, have you watched the show? Just do a search on youtube of the young turks and each of the companies that cenk mentioned. All the specific instances are right there in detail.

  • Defrauding the government, wasting taxpayer $? Nancy pelosi and her air force jet rides? Tom Daschle for tax evasion? Wait, ANY Obama nominee for tax evasion? As long as there is government and lobbyists, there will be fraud. How about NO congressional pension for congressmen who break the law? That would be the same as cutting all pension, right?

  • Oh man. The Republicans really walked into it this time. Their attacks against ACORN have led them to cutting off the corporations who line their pockets. This is great.

  • Yeah, because dems don't take any money from large corporations. Does this apply to congressmen?...they defraud all the time!

  • wow something that makes sence that liberals came up with... hopefully they will not turn a blind eye to their left wing orgainizations when enforcing it sides that very good idea

  • Yeah, now we'll see if they enforce it...

  • A strong Democrat? Back it up!

  • FUCK anyone still caught up in the whole republican vs democrat bullshit

  • I agree.

    What a bunch of clowns.

They prefer having thier thoughts fed to them like fast food.

What a bunch of disposable cocksuckers.

Bricks in the wall of dullness, and blithering stupidity, every last one of them.

Its folks like THEM,that make sure US dont have a chance in hell of really taking power back into the peoples hands.

    Know what I mean?

  • ArianaJollee1:

You seem to be forgetting the democrats wholehearted agreement with, and collusion in those lies. Right along with the continuation of those same policies the lies you decry led to.

Now this new legislation proposed by the democrats is an excellent idea, but does not go at all far enough. All corporate entities need to be stripped of their personhood under the law, and their principles held accountable for any crimes committed under the mantel of the corporation.

  • Ha1 ha! Thats awesome! Republicans want their cake and eat it too. Bunch of dumb fucks!

  • GMC can kiss my ass

  • We just love killing people here in America. Even the Democrats love it.

  • if obama was born in kenya then glenn beck was born with autism

  • Well obama wasn't born in kenya......

  • ZING!!

  • I'm sure Obamba and the democrats will go after these corrupt contractors just as quick as they were to jump to ACORN's defense.

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • I'm sure friction is in bed with all the corn lobbyists, that's the only reason why he would be against acorns.

What would all the squirrels do, huh? God, some people are just such dumb shits.

  • Cenk is talking out his ass again. As a Republican I have no problem putting crooked contractors out of business. But Cenk is a liar when he says 50% to 80% of contractors rip off the government. How about we kick out the government when they rip off the people. Can you say bye bye NObama

  • Bellita1 is so full of shit, I don't know where he gets the misspelling of our president's name. You should go back to school as you clearly have no education.

  • You can't handle the TRUTH. PUSSY!!!

  • Your antagonism has failed, please try again.

  • We do kick out the govt, its called an election, idiot. Thats why I want the accountable govt doing things, not some private for profit unaccountable organization.

Durr, dee, durr, durr, dee, durr.....

  • 'We do kick out the govt, its called an election'

What planet are you presently on? You kick out elected officials (or not; ballot rigging, anyone?), the real government (bankers, corporate heads, etc) are still dunking their donuts. Methinks you are pretty naive.

  • The entire congress, past and present, should be placed in gulags in New Mexico. They are all (with a few exeptions)a bunch of crooks.

  • Corporate death penalty, brilliant.

  • They will simply change the name of the corporation and continue business as usual. Unless the bill bars individuals in charge of the corporations-nothing will change.

  • Changing the name of the corporation wouldn't work. The managing and primary directors would have to be different or you could then charge them with fraud.

  • They just play musical chairs with directors. My brother worked in an office for a company that that screwed a lot of people out of money and were sued by a family who's Mother was killed in an accident by one of the company's trucks (without insurance). The office workers quite en mass when they found out what was going on.The owners declared bancruptcy and just months later had reorganized and reopened another firm-with a new name for the corporation.

  • And the corps get around the campaign finance laws too. My bro worked for a tobacco co that asked its employees to "donate" $100 to a specific senator's (repub- naturally) campaign. Then, low an behold, a month later, all employees got a $100 "bonus". They are gaming the system and buying influence.

  • The United States government should put itself out of business.Since the government is the biggest fraud of all.

  • wow you must watch alot of fox....

  • lol kenya, and Palin was born in Russia

  • It's sad how desperate you are to break off into a tangent about Obama.

If you are going to rally against issues which are supposedly dear to your heart, at least learn how to spell them properly. By not doing so, your attempt at an attack just seems like yet another 5 year old crying because they didn't get what they wanted.

  • First of all the name your thinking of is GEORGE W. BUSH. The man who started both wars, took a the annual surplus the Clinton administration passed on and turned it into a 1.5 trillion deficit enlarging the national dept from 5.5 trillion to 11 trillion, and and completely (and illegally) circumventing your 4th amendment rights to privacy with the roaming wiretaps of the patriot act (of which less than 1% where actually used in terrorism cases.) Obama couldn't do that much damage if he tried.

  • Obama was born in Kenya? Really, I hadn't heard that. You imagine something that big would have people looking into it. People like factcheck.

  • In spirit, I agree with sentiment, but u people who rail against COPERATE America r motivated by a GREEN EYED monster. IS the kind of REPBULLICAN rail against in this video Ron Paul and EXTREAM RPBLCN/Lbtrn who has been standing on this ground 4 EVER.. Anyway Im glad to C, BUT do you people understand what a C Corp is. I guarantee if u own a stock mutual fund, YOURE THE OWNER, dont be so hard on yourselves lol.

  • i propose an actual death penalty: shoot those fuckers.

  • does the consitution say exactly how to protect you??

i mean could you live without blackwater??

i still kinda don't get why acorn is demonized?

  • bodoggy: well, grab a copy of the Constitution to find out. "...ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence..."

  • Hey, mental giant -- Blackwater doesn't even exist anymore as such. It's now "Xe" and works as a bullshit global merc-for-hire corporation. Does that mean we funded another organization that will one day train and arm people who fight us?

    You betcha.

  • LOL! I only wish the government would do something like this. You know if it is attempted the GOP (and a good number of Dems) will immediately try to install a retroactive loophole for any company that makes more than a billion dollars.

  • won't happen

  • I rolled my eyes when I heard Cenk say something about justice actually being served to the military industrial complex. I would have laughed except it's just so fucking depressing.

  • i think Cenk know's everything about how america is supposed to work and almost nothing about how it actually does. he acted surprised when obama wouldn't prosecute bush people. come on man. they are all buddies!!

  • I can not believe how the Democrats follow the Republican advice for self destruction with gusto.

After so many years out of power, they get to power with the help of ACORN, one of the organizations that can really get Grass roots young voters.

Carl Rove, could not destroyed ACORN, It took the same Democrat to do that.

We will see how many of this Republicans will vote for these Democrats in next Elections.

They sure lost me, I am a Liberal is is not eassy to lose a liberal vote.

  • really dude you'd vote in a crazy conservative over a weak liberal??

  • "OH SNAP, "

    LOL

  • HELL YEA!!! I LOVE THIS SOOO MUCH!!! great job Cenk! I want to know about anything and everything involving this bill! Oh snap, will there maybe be a list of any businesses who suffer from this bill given to the public?names, faces, logos, $amounts, the works!

  • Bout time.

  • if they had that law 80% of the people in washington would be getting the death penalty.

  • Fuck that, how about we get rid of the law making it illegal for anything other that a Drug from a pharmaceutical company to be called a "cure" or even be called a "cure." It's disgusting.

  • Would you be upset if I told you we were dying?

And every cure they gave us was a lie?

Oh! They mean it when they say we're dead and doomed

And every single symptom brings us closer to the tomb

And who will take the credit for our swift impending fall

  • Nah, fuck that lol I ain't going down in some silly poem lol. I'm just worried in this new age of fat people and tech sav that no one has the strength to revolt

  • actually, I was quoting a song by Street Manifesto(epic band is epic) xD

  • well finally something is being done about it

  • I just had a lovely thought...

Not only do we make this idea real, but we make it a rider onto health care reform, specifically aimed at Big Health.

    Anyone with me?

  • I'm kind of disappointed. It's not an actual death penalty. That would be nice if it was retro-active.

  • there's reality and then there's young turk's little world he lives in. the government is never going to stop funding military contractors. ACORN on the other hand is completely disposable.

  • Good point, but that is assuming BlackWater is the only military contractor out there.

  • You mean American don't you?

  • Yes, American military contractors.

  • they can fund contractors, i don't think that's what the bill is about.

the bill prevents organizations that have defrauded the federal govt from working with it.

did you even watch the video?

  • So you don't care that over 10 soldiers lost there lives from shoddy electrical work, or the females who were raped, or the Iraq civillians who murdered by blackwater and these are all facts, it's not a point of needing miltary contracters, it's the fact of holding there feet to the fire.,

  • It took two years for a girl who was raped by KBR contracters to get justice, yet they had a bill to defund ACORN in less than two weeks, after it was hyped by a Fox "news" hack.

  • that chick still didn't get justice man. she still going through the courts

  • The way things are going the democrate will end begging the Republican to let then govern.

Obamea performance is a monumental Failure, what a wimp.

This si not what I sign for.

  • grayson happens to be one of the ones championing for HR 1207, by the way, to audit the Fed

  • I'm proud to be from Orlando FL...for once. I saw him run and his ad's were great. I'm glad to see him follow through, unlike someother politions I know who ran on a great platform!

  • Charlie Christ.....

  • you know what they should have? political death penalty for reps who talk shit about the govt. and those who spread lies about policies and reforms.

  • hahaha, so you mean a fascist govt? hahahaha I know one man who hates free speech.

  • It sounds good to me.

  • I gotta run, have a session coming in...to missmaria.... I realize the metaphor I used completely shot way over your head so let me help you to understand it before I go. See not all of us are haters, some are actually honest people who truly want to help others. The, "mud puddle," represents this very small issue in comparison to the, "tidal wave," which represents the real issue and that's big government. I hope this helped you to see my point here and if it did, how could you deny it?

  • For starters, the democrats have had control of congress since 2006. If you notice it was the democrats who first proposed the original Tarp bailout and not Bush. Obama, Tim G. and H. Clinton set bush up to fail so they could point their evil fingers at him later and falsely accuse him of doing what they did. It's hard to blame bush when they had all of the control. They rely on the ignorance of their following to keep this in argument mode so it never gets the true attention it deserves.

  • "Tim G. and H. Clinton set bush up to fail so they could point their evil fingers at him later and falsely accuse him of doing what they did. It's hard to blame bush when they had all of the control."

Bush was the president, did they hold a gun to his head and force him to sign tarp?

  • Mixman77,

I understand you must go. Before you leave please be corrected.

Bush's treasury Sec. Henry Paulson is the initiator of the original TARP bailout.

When we stray from the facts is when our judgement becomes murky.

Maybe you should check into it a little further. Paulson basically wrote a 3-page demand on notebook paper, calling for $700B or the world would end.

  • One of the difficulties is it seems to be the same government that defrauded the voters with the 911 demolition and they are still doing it. It is a little like the kettle calling the pot black. One side screwing the other side does not a functional gov make. It's like the richer screwing the poorer by virtue of the fact they are in collusion with "justice" (such as it is). You could have an "integity test" for public officials, better yet monitor them by law all the time.

  • I bet I hit this one dead on the head....you call yourself a, "Christian," don't you? I can tell this is true by the way you hate on everyone yet beg for forgiveness. What a sicko user that is even trying to use God. Without even viewing you pathetic page I bet I'm right. You sit on your Godly rump all day rejecting mankind in the name of Jesus. Did Jesus talk about people like you?, "many will stand before me and say they did all these things in my name". What was it he said, I know you not!

  • WTF they cutting off there allowance!!!?????bullshit death penalties should be death penalties i swear yo whites dont pay for shit they just take and fucking take

  • Comment removed

  • It's like throwing crack out in the middle of crackville and wondering why they are all running to get the crack or in this case, get involved. The democrats have had control of congress since 2006 so how in this world can we still be blaming the republicans when they have been shut down on every idea they pushed. All 800 proposals that have been presented to congress in the way of help for this HC issue the democrats have refused to even look at and they are the first to scream Bipartisanship!

  • The host here is utilizing a loose definition of fraud. If I sell a man a car, it's his responsibility to count and make sure there are four tires on it. The government needs better buyer and negotiators.

  • franksnow79,

Good point, but the government doesn't have enough inspectors, auditors, etc. Why is it solely the buyer's responsibility? Shouldn't the seller also adhere to a "good faith" transaction.

When did GREED become a good thing?

Selfishness and greed is human nature,I understand, but it seems to be such a big part of the Conservative mindset.

It seems they use government solely as an instrument to further fleece the taxpayers/consumers.(We the People).

  • If there is "an official payoff" there is not "an official fraud". At a certain status level the "spoils" will be shared, but below that level there has to be a different set of spoils. One might contend that everpresent selfishness is the basic building material of status, and we are out to build some monuments to selfish indifference. Basically the scum rises. "The Top" tends not to be impeded in their criminal ways by law and ethics". Think of a huge gang where everyone want to profit.

  • There are so many things in your comment I didn't understand.

'These people don't offer amything but trouble making lies just like those they dream of one day being.' - I thought that was a particularly hilarious sentence. The mud puddle one almost made it into my comment too...

    You're hilarious. Become a clown.

  • miss green tea drinking heavy bottom maria, did you run out of fence post to argue with? Please, you are far from my level of intellect. For one to attack grammar in a commenting section of a website only goes to prove they/you lack any intelligent response and are looking for another fatass wanna be thin person you can complain about your shitty life with. I guess if I weighted 400 pounds and had every health problem known to man as a result of my sitting on my ass all day, I would bitch too!

  • "Americans better realize the media is really the one destroying us."- Mixman77

    You are so spot on.

Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp. are destroying the entire world. There is no way in hell, that one man and one corporation should control 1/3 of the world's media.

Murdoch's now buying up media companies in Muslim countries.

So now FoxNews type bullshit will be worldwide, The final steps of the New World Order, total mind control.

  • Why is this just being done?

It should have always been policy. I am sure lot of companies operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to fraud.

  • This is the kind of common sense we need for us to get back on our feet. Too many people are ripping us off left and right. The US is hemorrhaging money out to crooks, and it needs to end.

  • Do yout homework, TYT, Grayson made his name in the courtroom crusading against Iraq war contractors. Now he's doing it from the House. He could have a bright future in Congress if he can survive the backlash election in 2010. His district is traditionally red.

  • I don't give an F if the company is Acorn, Blackwater or Halliburton, companies that defraud the people on a mass-scale should pay a huge penalty. I wish there was a way it could be applied to the Federal Reserve.

  • Note to Dem's:

Next time keep this sh!t a secret until AFTER it passes.

  • Dont know much about Alan Grayson, but I like him.

  • This sounds like a great idea! Wow, can we hang the officers from lamp posts on Constitution Avenue? Let's do it!

  • and if this were applied to individuals 50 to 80% of obamas cabinet would be found guilty.

  • SO !!. What has that got to do with this issue? How is it a mitigating factor for one parties fraud to point out that another party committed fraud. That type of argument can only lead to the conclusion that no person or entity should ever be held accountable as long as they can cite another person or entity"did it too". So exactly what is your point?

  • 50-80% of Obama's cabinet are government contractors? Hey Sherlock, it's YOU that's making you look stupid.

  • my point is that you people hold him up on some stupid fucking pedistal and if and act like he has done nothing wrong when if you look at it, 50 to 80% of his people would go down too. and of course theyre not gov. contractors you gran-fucking idiot.

  • IF TYT were in trouble all you have to do is make a company TYT2 and your good to go.

  • I think the issue with this is that the corp will be banned. These rich guys that screw the govt will just open up another corp in a different name.

  • its a great idea but it will only fly with liberal orgs.

just remember ACORN has no guns.

  • thank fuck for that

  • Strong democrat. Rofl. So you think it'll pass senate?

  • I thought it was a real death penalty. Hey it's America they love killing people so it might happen. hehe

  • Although corporations are legally people, no actual lives are lost when you kill them.

Some die on the open market all the time.

  • Corporations are not legally people, they are well corporations. It would be more accurate to say they are living business ventures that can be snuffed out when appropriate. Sad day for them, fuck'em

  • Corporations are a government intervention... in real capitalism, people would be held accountable for stupidity and risks (including killing people)

    Blackwater is just hiring hitmen...

  • Sorry, corporations ARE legally people due to the 1886 Southern Pacific Railroad case where they successfully(?) claimed equal protection under the 14th amendment. Problem is, that wasn't the actual ruling of the judges in the case so the issue is currently being debated.

  • Corporations are considered to be individual people in terms of business responsibility.

For instance, if you own a business like a taxi cab company and a cab hits someone, you are responsible.

But if it is a corporate taxi company, then the company itself is responsible as though it were a person.

Furthermore, there is a supreme court ruling that says corporations have the same rights and privileges as individual people.

  • That supreme court ruling, bribed and brought to you by AIG. Actually I have no idea who paid for it, but I can be certain without even checking that someone did. Because any judge who rules that corporations have the same rights and privileges as an individual is a corrupt fuck who just got paid. Why don't we give corporations the right to bear arms? Then, when someone makes a proposal that would hurt their business, they can shoot them and say they were trespassing on financial properties.

  • AIG didn't even exist then! This was in the mid-1800's, days when corporations were very rare and far more tightly monitored by the government.

That the business is considered its own person is in terms of liability is the very thing that seperates a corporation from other business forms.

  • Hey guys the first words in this video are an oxymoron so if your allergic turn away!!!!!!

  • This is awesome. What a great idea.

  • It depends on what your definition of

    "defraud" is.

  • Great video!

  • Most excellent - let's see what happens. We need to make sure accountability really ensues by the branch of govt that will enforce this. Thx TYT for reporting and informing on issues that can make a difference.

  • Do it like the chinese yo!

  • every time i hear about rep. grayson, it's a good thing.

  • I am against the death penalty, even though, Wall Street should get the worst punishment of all for robbing us!! I think Bernie Madoff´s sentence was great. The death penalty is mass murder committed by the state.

  • I am on the same page. Killing a killer of an individual just makes you another killer, but corporate crimes really destroy lives, and it is high time that white collar criminals pay the price for the divorces, suicides, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and deaths due to lack of health care caused by their greed and lack of accountability.

  • Damn. I was hoping they were going to propose literally killing the CEOs of the companies.

Normally, I oppose the death penalty when it comes to murder cases, but in the case of treason, I'm for it.

  • meh this is really a non issue. murder's illegal, people still do it. tax evasion is illegal people and corps. still do it. this is just an empty bill from which nothing will come. companies will just reorganize, change their name, open up a shell and form a subsidiary and no one will lose their job.

  • What they need is a an equivalent "no-fly" list for PEOPLE doing business with the government (which company they are affiliated with and what position they occupy should be irrelevant). It would be an interesting opportunity to put all the government profiling, tracking, and illegal spying to some productive use.

  • kbr and bridgewater = corporate death squads

  • Keep hoping.

They'll close Acorn, but find some way to ignore contractors. Probably, they woun't ever mention them.

  • Yeah you're rational. *sarcasm* (because I know you wouldn't have caught it if I didn't say so)

  • Im not getting any of that money so f- Them.

  • exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck off and die, troll.

  • Whoa

So before, if you obtain a contract and defraud the government they fine them and still retain the contact or and apply for new contracts?

    LOL

  • imbeachasbro,

Isn't it great... the American Dream.

Shows you how corporatized our government has become... after all these companies with contracts are also the ones that contribute heavily to election campaigns (which, of course, are compleeeetely unrelated incidents... *wink*).

  • Stupid bill, it's just a matter of becoming a 3rd party contractor.

  • I think they may have covered that unless they create a whole new company or something.

I hope the ones who defraud the government their names and details are also obtained so they don't create another company to obtain contracts.
