wtf did Comfort say around 03:07? ''The invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood the things that are made''
How would anyone create anything? We're human, we DISCOVER things. God creates things, and he hasn't created anything since the 6th day of creation, so of course no one will see anything created. I wish we would all just put all the evidence out on the table from both sides, quit trying to disprove each other, and let the TRUTH surface. I believe God created the heavens, earth, and everything in it in 6 days and rested on the 7th. One side is wrong and the other is right, what do you believe in?
"One side is wrong and the other is right, what do you believe in?"
Not you. A magic man who is all powerful still had to take 6 days to create & had to rest on the 7th day... he had to take a breather... See, your arguments arent only lacking evidence, it's not just wrong. It's completely fucking stupid not worthy of an intelligent being..
bdstimpson your ankle feeling better is a miracle? So much suffering happens daily that is far worse than anything you or i have been thru these people pray just like you do why are thay not being helped, its so obvious...........too busy on your ankle.
Religion crawls back to the internet Colosseum, bleeding, shivering and broken to receive another yet hard to watch, wince inducing ass beating brought by anyone with grade 10 up. After what looks like Nicki and Dominique at the end of Casino religion crawls back home to be tickled back to health by its failed fallen religitard zombie followers until logic comes calling again. Thank you religion for entertaining me so well. :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I like this series, but I'm concerned with how the narrator writes off miracles/supernatural/magic as nonsense as if self-apparent. When I went to Costa Rica and Haiti, my group witnessed about a dozen blind people healed after we prayed for them. Whether evolution is true or not, I don't know; but what I know is that for those people, they can see now after we prayed for them under the authority of Jesus. To write off miracles as mere subjective superstition seems foolish to me.
@TheZooCrew That's a very authoritative statement to make. I can give an example of a healing from my own life. My ankle had been twisted badly in high school so I couldn't run on it. A few years later, I learned miracles can still happen, so I had a friend pray for it. It stopped hurting. It's not a major miracle, but my ankle doesn't hurt. My friend's daughter was on her deathbed when a "miracle" turnaround saved her life. Maybe it was a coincidence that it happened the day we prayed for her.
@TheZooCrew I can talk to my friend about his daughter and see if he's got any of the medical records still. If interested, email me at bdstimpson@yahoo.com and I'll hook you up. When God does a legitimate miracle, he's never afraid of giving proof. (Otherwise, how will we know it's legitimate?) Or I can see if my friend Daniel Scalf (look him up) has records from his time with a brain tumor that was supposed to kill him. But that was a number of years ago, so he might not have them.
@bdstimpson Should I even ask for you to produce documentation of these miracles you're talking about? That's why these things usually happen in 3rd world countries where there are no medical records confirming that any of these people were actually blind, nor any sort of confirmation that any of them could -and still can- demonstrate that they have been healed since. What do we always see instead? People who either weren't afflicted to begin with, or who still are. Your miracles are lies.
@AronRa I don't have documentation, and I probably won't be able to find it for most of the people. I might be able to get it for one girl we prayed for who couldn't read because her eyesight was so bad (legally though not actually blind) but then came back the next meeting reading. I still talk to her pastor occasionally via facebook. I could also point you to Bethel Church in Redding, CA (i.e. not 3rd world), where medical records have been kept for most of their reported "healings."
@AronRa By the way, thanks for the reply. With all the comments I'm sure you get, I was figuring you would be swamped and not even notice mine. And I really do love this series. You make some great points and are getting me to take a good look at the evidence once again.
@bdstimpson Hearsay and anecdotes are irrelevant to science. In order for a miracle to happen, it would have to be physically impossible by natural means. Unless you have concrete evidence of this happening, and it can be reproduced, all you have is just hearsay and anecdotes.
Exactly, but he was imprisoned because he spouted nonsense on the witness stand. He didn't count millions of dollars as income despite it coming from his videos and lecture series. So he not only conned his audience, he lied about conning his audience to the government.
You can't be convicted for "scientific" or "religious" fraud in a country where you have freedom of speech.
@TheZooCrew But isn´t it a crime if someone does deceive people by false "miracles" or faked "scientific" presentations? Not that Mr. Hovind did such things. (But I am really no fan of him. I watch his videos for comedic reasons only).
I doubt Cameron was ever an atheist. At least not on his own. Maybe his parents were atheists and tried too hard to impose it on him and now he is rebelling. Especially now that he's such a failure in the acting business. I mean really, once you become an atheist due to the logics and reasoning...there is no turning back. This guy is just looking for credibility.
I really can't believe that people are watching these videos and still arguing for creationism. They must be just visiting these pages, but bottling out of watching them, or distorting their own perceptions to the point of mental illness.
I'm a FORMER Christian and FORMER Creationist, and I'm going to explain how they rationalize Isaiah 45:7, wherein God says that he creates success and disaster. In short, God is above morality. If a human created a disaster, he would be evil. If God creates a disaster, he has authority to do so, and is just being God. God is good, so whatever he chooses to do is good by default, even if it's terrible. It's how they dismiss all of the moral ambiguities inherent in the Judeo-Christian God.
@portlyculver As much as I understand your reasoning, it is still a fallacy. It is the Appeal to Force or the "Might Makes Right" fallacy. Just because he has the authority to do something, or doing so is in his nature, does not mean God should or is justified in doing so.
If someone can judge god to be good, then he is subject to some moral standard, not above it. The same thinking that allows you to judge something as good allows you to judge them as evil. It's no different.
How could Cameron possibly have been a Atheist and Evolutionist? he was 17 when he became a born again christian and still on Growing Pains, what the hell would he know?
This issue is bogus, like the one sided issue of child sexual abuse. Only, in this case of creationism versus atheist science, BOTH sides are loud and wrong. It's not one sided like the pedophilia "debate". As such it is twice as stupid. Quantum mechanics has long known that consciousness is causal and transcends physicality. That this debate, by several boobs from both insitutional worlds, religion and state funded science, continues, is only a tribute to their complete lack of education.
Having grown up knowing both sides of the argument i have used my brain for myself, not having ideas forced on me from a young age, and have used logical, rational thought to see that creationists have it wrong. They believe in God because since ancient times people have sought to explain that which they cannot explain themselves. These beliefs have become set into culture. Their beliefs will not change because that is all they know. It is up to future generations to see sense and promote truth.
Closed minds gather in the same closet and speak about how beautiful the walls are, then turn & spew venomous hate, on all who dare to suggest, that a beautiful world truly exist outside of those precious 4 walls. The sad part is, no one wants to risk their closet clout, so no one dares to rise and open the door. Lol WAKE-UP non-believers! Bless The Lord Jesus!
wow...that is all i can really say about both of the two sides...I have always thought cameron was an idiot. Dont take science information from them, look criticaly for your self. Start with abiogenisis. Even though he is an idiot , cameron is right...No unrefutable evidence for macro evolution is presented by testable science. Frogs are frogs and dogs are dogs, their is an apparent limitation for the DNA code to vary past that.
@smoothpeople33 "Even though he is an idiot , cameron is right...No unrefutable evidence for macro evolution is presented by testable science."
Sure there's evidence of "macro" evolution. (btw, there is no such thing as macro and micro evolution... it's the same process) Some of the strongest evidence is incredibly interesting, like the bacteria that eats polyester, for example, or the Hawaiin Butterflies who can now eat bananas when they couldn't previously. Truly fascinating stuff.
@GoodAvatar looking at the evidence from the polyester eating bacteria there is a good chance that the variation and ability was already encoded in the bacteria. It certainly isn't moving away from being a bacteria because of apparent limitations in the DNA code. Fruit flies are a good example of genetic manipulation ( speeding natural selection if you will). Guess what it just kept being a fruit fly, Not a single improvement to the one that is found in very old amber deposits.
@GoodAvatar I prefer to stick to what I think is right and leave personal theory's about philosophy for other areas. I feel I was robbed in my education by not being shown any conflicting opinion about any of the curriculum, that isn't a service to the young budding minds of the world. None of that is about the argument that variety is built into the DNA code. Adaptation isn't evolution from common decent. People that claim proof of that aren't being 100% honest. It is a belief factually.
@smoothpeople33 Believe whatever you want for whatever reason you want. Knock yourself out believing stupid shit. But, be aware that just because you believe something doesn't mean it's necessarily true.
However, if you can back something up with proof when you make a claim, you become far more credible. For example, if you state that you're uneducated, and that you don't believe in "evolution from common decent" (great spelling, btw) that's pretty good evidence that you're correct.
@GoodAvatar one animal becoming another has never actually been observed only through inference of other evidence is it believed. Just because I can poke holes in a mud to man model of the creation of life doesn't make it untrue. There is just a lot of faith that has to be taken to buy it all hook line and sinker. You shouldn't need a licence to speak out against something that seams so ridiculously silly. Mud turning to a man, plant , and every other living thing on the planet.
@smoothpeople33 "one animal becoming another has never actually been observed only through inference of other evidence is it believed...mud to man model of the creation of life.... Mud turning to a man, plant , and every other living thing on the planet "
That's not what evolution IS. You should probably figure out what you're trying to debunk before spouting ignorant foolishness. I'd recommend re-reading your Biology textbook or paying better attention. Don't listen to the creation goons, man
@GoodAvatar "I'm not sure what you're hoping to achieve either" Here's the thing. Whenever I deal with folks like the advocates of this classic liberal relativist science project = human evolution, I realize there's no cure for those of you who suffer from locked and limited brain. You can't help it sweetie! It's the perfect belief system to allow arrogance and narcissistic self indulgence to flourish in. It's also an unproven lie. Now I also realize that in science, terminology changes like
@GoodAvatar bedpartners in hollywood! Theory, doesn't mean theory, fact can never be and hypothesis is = to the lost tribe of Dan! It's all part of the relativistic shell game so none of you can ever be pinned down to anything, out of fear of being wrong. There is nothing that I'm hoping for. ALL I like to do is get on here and troll your silly asses. It's nice to be in a position of intelligence, awareness and fact, to verbally slap to shit of y'all like I have. C'YA
@smoothpeople33 Remember 2 things in this discussion. 1.) the human evolution that they speak of here is complete unproven science science fiction. Whenever a species has changed in it's physical appearence, mutates down not up! 2.) you're dealing with a mutation in goodavatar, who when it can't win the discussion, it will ultimately start to make remarks about your spelling and turn it into a personal thing. That's how you know you're dealing with someone out of their knowledge pool!
@TheReformed1 I think a lot of people are convince from a young age (as was I) that their is no controversy and no need to look critically at the facts of evolution from mud to man. I was so interested in it that I started looking at the process with a fine tooth comb and discovered that I was being ripped off in my education by the most well meaning people. Evolutionists have more religious fanaticism then ANY religion, this starts throwing red flags to the observant.
@smoothpeople33 "their is no controversy and no need to look critically at the facts of evolution from mud to man"
That's because there IS no controversy. The scientists who study evolution(as in, it's their job to study it.... they get paid to understand it) overwhelmingly support the theory. They're the experts in this kind of field, and I can trust their assertions due to the scientific method. Nothing has even come CLOSE to upsetting the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection.
@GoodAvatar support the theory!!! Sweetie, it's a hypothesis with NOWHERE near the evidence to support it. Natural selection/random order are both science fiction now, always have been abd always will be. The scientific community, ( as in it's their job to study it...they get paid to understand it) much like the recently revealed farse of global warming, have done the same thing with their "evidence" for years. Force the result, so it can be what they want.
@TheReformed1 "Sweetie, it's a hypothesis with NOWHERE near the evidence to support it. Natural selection/random order are both science fiction now, always have been abd always will be"
No, they're not. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is only about the explanation of biological diversity. I don't know WHY you're so opposed to that, but Golly Gee, I'd guess it had something to do with your stupid ass religious beliefs telling you you're special. But you're not special. At all.
@TheReformed1 "Natural selection/random order are both science fiction now, always have been abd always will be."
Natural select says that those best suited to surviving and reproducing in an environment will tend to do better at surviving and reproducing in that enviroment then their less suited counter parts. It is a tautology.
"random order" I'm guesting you mean good mutations. Antibiotics resistant bacteria. It is bad news for us, but it's good for them.
@GoodAvatar It is a pure political agenda, not unlike any other. But go ahead and believe it. It's truly for the uneducated unenlightened crowd. Hey, quick spell check! How am I doing you jerk?
@TheReformed1 "It is a pure political agenda, not unlike any other"
Maybe YOU are advocating a pure political agenda. *I* am not. I am advocating that religious nuts should try to understand science before they attempt to intrude on it. Failing that, they shouldn't attempt to deceive the public about what science REALLY is and what the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection REALLY states. You're attacking it so dishonestly that it's no wonder nobody takes your Christianity seriously. It lies.
@GoodAvatar Don't forget! It's the HYPOTHESIS of natural selection and human evolution. There isn't nearly enough " evidence" or results to clinch it as a theory!
@TheReformed1 "There isn't nearly enough " evidence" or results to clinch it as a theory!"
Really? Because you banged on and on and on about how it WAS a theory earlier. You also made it painfully clear that you didn't know what a scientific theory is. It's funny how thoroughly you've changed your story by this point. Can't be bothered to maintain consistency in your purposefully ignorant rants, eh?
@GoodAvatar "Really? Because you banged on and on and on about how it WAS a theory earlier."
LOL Good one. TheReformed1 really puts the FUN in fundi. :D
I love how it starts out as "Evolution is just a theory and hasn't been proven" and several dozen posts later trying to correct that misconception to "evolution is not a theory". XD
@ApemanD His trolling is very persistent, but not very consistent. He also seems to have this weird conspiracy-theory style notion that Catholics aren't Christians. It's bizarre, but he really does seem to believe it. Every time I've asked him about it, he gets pissy and defensive, which makes me extremely curious about where he got this notion and how he actually believes it.
I don't think for a SECOND that he's got a point, but I'm curious as hell about what his "point" is?
@GoodAvatar "I don't think for a SECOND that he's got a point, but I'm curious as hell about what his "point" is?"
I strongly advise against finding out. Trying to make sense out of nonsense is the fourth leading cause of brain cell death after adopting supernatural claims on faith, sniffing glue, and eating paint chips.
@ApemanD I originally called the science fiction of human evolution a theory instead of what it is, a hypothesis, for your benefit. You're all a bunch of very bitter people and science ( of course I mean practical, factual science, non-politically, agenda driven science ie: human evolution) has proven that bitter people like yourselves, have a shrinkage problem with their brain. Yeah! It actually puckers up like a little sphincter about to get used incorrectly.
@TheReformed1 "I originally called the science fiction of human evolution a theory instead of what it is, a hypothesis, for your benefit." Sure you did. ;) Getting rid of the theory won't change the fact evolution happens. Remember that theories are based on facts and explain them, and those pesky facts are a bitch to say the least. To learn why evolution is a fact, watch AronRa's 15th FFOC pt2.
"You're all a bunch of very bitter people.." <---Psychological projection. Have a nice day. :)
@ApemanD Remember that theories are based on facts!!!!!! Are you freakin serious???? Facts are born from theories after proper research has made the evidence conclusive! Hypothesis, is the idea, which becomes a theory after enough data shows a very strong possibilty. Of course someone tried to cover for science by stating the ridiculous notion, that in science, terms are different. HA! HA! HA!
"What bothers me is when followers of science fiction, like you, think they can comment intelligently on something they know and care nothing about"
Pot calling the toilet paper black much?
Your science fiction comments are always hilariously ironic. Because I enjoy science and science fiction and I have a firm understanding of the differences between the two.
However, you actually BELIEVE fictional things, and I don't. Isn't that funny?
@GoodAvatar Do a Google search on Poe's law. TheReformed1 could just be pretending to be a fundie fucktard. Some make it obvious on purpose usually very subtly, because they want people to figure out they're trolling, but most are aggro and hard to read and don't want to be caught. For an example of a subtle Poe look on my subs for Watergaia.
@ApemanD Yea, that would fit perfectly, if true. I definitely won't say it's for certain, but I've had some suspicion for a while now.
Then again, it's sometimes hard to tell when people are insanely obnoxious and idiotic and when they're being insincere. There really are people out there who sincerely believe the kind of shit this douchebag spreads. Either way, it should probably be contested and I advocate that people start contesting it, even if it DOES overly amuse a few internet fuckwads.
@GoodAvatar Let me help you two sloths out here! Poe's law in this instance, believe it or not, would actually err more to you than me. Now granted, I am a reformed theological christian, but the "flame war" in Poe's ideology, was started by you guys and your inability to accept or even tolerate other beliefs, esp. in the case of christianity, when there is much more existential evidence than your foolish whimsical belief in human evolution.
@GoodAvatar If you truly accepted other faith based beliefs along with human evolution, then you wpould have no problem discussiong them. But for you to immediately verbally demean people that are diverse from you, shows 1.) you're a hypocrite, 2.) you're intolerant and 3.) you're threatened, which is understandable in this case, because you faith in a bizarre belief, human evolution, which is unsubsytantiated by science, would make other well thought beliefs, threatening to someone like you.
@TheReformed1 It's not intolerant to make fun of people, dumbass. I'm sorry that you don't know know the definition of TOLERANCE, but maybe you should look it up.
I'm not trying to stop you from saying or believing in superstitious bullshit. I'm not trying to oppress you or keep you from praying to your magic underwear man in the clouds.
I'm just making fun of you, because your beliefs are ridiculous and they're causing you to turn your back on reality.
@GoodAvatar Hey listen, I don't take anything personal by the things you say about my beliefs. Now if you're an American Libertarian, that's good for you to heat. If you're a left libertarian, well than Obama's ideology is you bag, and we both know where you are then. So anyhow. You like to trash other peoples ideas if they don't match up with your own. I guess that's how it is in the majority rules world of hypocrisy. I wouldn't know, because I'm no hypocrite and I avoid herd mentality.
@TheReformed1"for you to immediately verbally demean people that are diverse from you"
I'm not demeaning you because you're diverse, or even because you support creationism.
I demean you because you're an idiot. You don't bother to actually study this information, you aren't bothering to check yourself and ask why you believe things that are clearly wrong, you support total lies and you want to miseducate the next generation.
These are horrible things. You deserve to be insulted.
@ApemanD Talkin to yourself again????? Take your meds and go back to sleep. I'm beginning to think that everyone on here but me is you! hahahahahahaha!
@ApemanD Yup, Poe. Thanks for bringing that term to my attention. I hadn't heard it before, though I found myself wondering for some time if this guy was pulling my leg.
Like the law says, it's difficult to differentiate between someone who genuinely believes complete bullshit and someone who is malicious and deceptive.
@GoodAvatar Sorry I wasn't able to respond back. Been out of town for work and no computer! THANK GOD! Or the alpha ape for you. Anyway... did you miss me??? I didn't miss you. Anyhow, for two chowder heads, you and apeman have it right. It's tough to see the real christian in all the blurr of trash like "The Hour of Power" Ernest Agnsley, Benny Hinn"! But it does exist, and when a guy like me comes in to the picture, it's difficult for folks like you to accept the fact that you're WRONG!
@GoodAvatar See again, for the lessor to call the greater an idiot, is really just vicious arrogance on your part. What we are all about, is stopping the "miseducation" of the next generation. Now that means putting things back into the order of which they belong. 1.) Teachers salaries and health care plans and pensions revised into a great downward trend. School voucher programs expanded, for proper school choice, and teaching of human evolution OPTIONAL, and then as the hypothesis it is.
@ApemanD What both of your personalities are struggling with here Sybil, is that you know I'm right. Your science doesn't prove me wrong, ( cuz it can't) and you are drawn to it against your own wills, through the very core of your existence, your hatred for others. You truly are split personality of asses!
Just like YOU don't know if there's a God, and you're scared of atheists because we pop holes if your little afterlife fantasy.
You're scared of atheists, I SPECULATE, because you're worried that if there are too many of us, and atheism becomes a part of popular culture, your little terrified fantasy of heaven JUST MIGHT NOT BE TRUE.
@GoodAvatar The obserance of dual personalities does not fall under the category of "Physchic"! Harry Potter, E.S.P., human evolution etc.etc. those are much closer to the realm of paranormal sciences.
Hey! It's funny that you bring up Harry Potter, maybe we should compare it to the Bible. What do they have in common? Everything. They feature giants and magic, evil wizards, resurrection, transmutation, polymorphing, magical global disasters, magical items and magical weapons, martyrs and holy warriors, with a primary hero who was born to save the word.
Isn't that cute?
I wonder why they have that in common? Oh, I can answer that question. It's because they're both FICTIONAL!!!
@TheReformed1 "science...has proven that bitter people like yourselves, have a shrinkage problem with their brain. Yeah! It actually puckers up like a little sphincter about to get used incorrectly."
There you go making shit up again. This may have a lot to do with why I reject creationism; because its advocates feel no obligation to say things that are true. All you do is lie, wheedle, manipulate emotions and falsify information. I can't take this total ignorance seriously.
@ApemanD So based on that result of scientific research and realizing that both you and goodavatar are"mentally" challenged due to your smaller brains, I condescended to you linguistic ability so that it would make sense to you. Of course non of it is more amusing than seeing goodavatar seeeeeeth and you make an ass out of yourself. Now that's what I call....FUNDI FUN! :) LOL!LOL!LOL!LOL!
Hey, mind if I ask you about Catholicism and why it bothers you so much?
Didn't you tell me that they weren't Christians a few times?
And I don't want your dumb website's opinion, I want YOUR opinion. Why do YOU think that Catholics aren't Christians?
They fit all of the definitions of Christianity perfectly. They believe in the same Magical Sky Daddy you do, they think a demi-god was murdered with some 2X4's and some 9 Inch Nails.
@GoodAvatar Thing is on the catholics aren't Christians, it doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when followers of science fiction, like you, think they can comment intelligently on something they know and care nothing about. It obviously fro some "Freudian", causes you a problem. Why is that?
@TheReformed1 "What bothers me is when followers of science fiction, like you, think they can comment intelligently on something they know and care nothing about. It obviously fro some "Freudian", causes you a problem. Why is that?"
Your Catholic conspiracy thing is interesting because I don't believe your statements. You're incredibly defensive about it, yet you never openly defend it. I think that your ignorance and bigotry can probably be traced once we find out where you got this from.
@GoodAvatar Im sorry to burst your bubble but people stretch the truth and their imaginations sometimes in a quest to build a career and if your going to trust them without critically looking at evidence because you trust is so high, not much i can help you with. You said it yourself, their paid to support their theory.
Henkels embryo sketches were a blatant misinterpretation of the facts and it is still taught as good science. Just one example.
@smoothpeople33 "Im sorry to burst your bubble but people stretch the truth and their imaginations sometimes in a quest to build a career"
Correct, some people do that. But if you even TRY that in Science, you'll find a fucking cold reception. The reason is because of the Peer Review Process. Look it up.
Basically, if you create a scientific paper and attempt dishonest science, others will immediately detect it and your work will not be trusted. Science is about looking for errors, not careers.
@GoodAvatar I understand peer review and how it works. You are lying to yourself or you don't think that peer review acts as a knowledge filter. I kept me from learning about many enigmas about science for over 20 years, what is the fear? Things such as poly strata trees, inverted areas of the geologic column, and migration habits of birds and fish to name just a couple.
@smoothpeople33 "you don't think that peer review acts as a knowledge filter"
Of COURSE it acts like a knowledge filter. That's the fucking POINT. Ideas that are dishonest or faulty do not make it past a peer review. Creationism is dishonest AND faulty, with shoddy logic that doesn't even TRY to approach a scientific peer review anymore.
The peer review takes available evidence and scrutinizes proposed theories with a VERY strict and VERY harsh set of standards and requirements. Rightly so.
@GoodAvatar You seam to always miss the point. Their were things I should have learned in school that the knowledge filter kept out. The peer review process you trust so much is under fire and change as we sit. The knowledge pirates will be forced to step back or have the credibility more widely criticized. The truth dosent need to be protected.
@smoothpeople33 "The peer review process you trust so much is under fire and change as we sit"
It shouldn't be. It works just fine. It's that strenuous process that's given us all of the medical, electrical, hydrological, metallurgical, and biological technology that makes our lives comfortable and healthy. It ensures that pseudo-science(such as creationism, alchemy, astrology, acupuncture, etc.) doesn't get taught as though it were fact and ensures that facts can be taught without dispute.
Actually, the truth DOES need to be protected, odd though that may seem. It needs to be protected from the machinations of those who would lie to discredit or misrepresent the truth. For example, religions have long been in favor of stealing hard-won secular civility and technology, then claim that it was their God's idea all along. It's a masterful trick which has continually worked for religions. It's no surprise to see it repeated now.
@GoodAvatar Acually, we've seen evidence that has become fact to the contrary! If you DON'T stretch the truth in the direction of the "herd mentality" in the scientific community, you'll find a cold reception! Global warming e-mail scandal! Need I say more?
@TheReformed1 "If you DON'T stretch the truth in the direction of the "herd mentality" in the scientific community, you'll find a cold reception! Global warming e-mail scandal"
Those are unrelated topics YET AGAIN! Evolution is unrelated to global warming, at least as far as I know. You pulled another logical fallacy called a Red Herring. That's where you try to distract the debate by bringing up completely unrelated subjects, which you did.
@TheReformed1 The reason I attack your spelling and writing is because those are visible indications of a person's general education and intelligence. The more clearly and concisely a person can transmit his thoughts, the more I take the person seriously. People who read or write a great deal intuitively understand this. Conversely, the stupider and lazier a person is, the more obviously his writing suffers.
Errors and screwups I understand, but a willful PRIDE in ignorance? Pathetic.
@GoodAvatar LOL! The reason you attack my spelling and writing is because you're an unfortunate loser and as usual on the downside of the discussion you turn to to stupid, last resort vitriol. And you're a conservative libertarian??? Hmmm. Well then you ar truly an embarrasement to libertatians everywhere!
@TheReformed1 "Well then you ar truly an embarrasement to libertatians everywhere!"
Why would I be an embarrassment to libertarians everywhere? I want a minimalist government. I don't think anything I've ever said has ever been against libertarian ethics and standards. It's truly what I advocate.
So why would that be incompatible with the Theory of Evolution? For that matter, why would being a conservative have anything to do with the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection?
@GoodAvatar BTW, there is no such word as stupider1 It's stupid, more stupid and most stupid. Those are called proper declentions. Stupider and stupidest are truly reserverd to the people that best represent those error laden words. YOU!
That's true. There IS no such word as stupider1. However, I've been using the term stupider for so long that I unconsciously used the term. however, it pays to note that language is always evolving(lol) and if it isn't a proper English word now, it will become one eventually. These things happen.
@smoothpeople33 Yes, irrefutable evidence of macroevolution has been presented as testable science. Check out the 11th FFoC for an introduction to what that means, and then look at the latter videos in the Falsifying Phylogeny series for more details.
It's always amazing to me, how the supposed " enlightened crowd" tries soooo hard to justify a FAITH BASED belief called human evolution!!! It's the equivalent of science fiction. I mean, goodavatar, a bonified idiot, actually tries to take legitimate scientific discoveries, like gravity, to prove that human evolution is conclusive!!! And the rest of you follow along like sheep to the blade! And I still say, ARONRA SOUNDS LIKE KERMIT THE FROG FROM SESAME STREET!!!
@TheReformed1 Evolution is not faith based, dumbass, it's evidence based. That's the complete opposite of faith. What world do you live on that you feel you can just state the complete opposite as though it were true with such maniacal idiocy?
Biology is Evidence based, too.... Do you know what evidence it's based on? Evolution.
Do you know what evidence modern Medicine is founded on? You know, what doctors had to learn before they pulled you out of your mother? Biology.
@GoodAvatar No it's faith based idiot! A large amount of HUMAN EVOLUTION is based on faith, that the evidence found in applied, practical or literal science leads to this rediculous notion, that looong ago, before ANYTHING existed...ANYTHING, a huge explosion took place forming the universe...FROM ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! LOL! Then all these cells/molecules, started lining up to form solid matter, which, so on and so on. And you believe that crap. Not to smart on your part.
@GoodAvatar It ties right into HUMAN evolution. It is a direct connection or flow chart. Do your homework before you blow out stupid statements like that.
@TheReformed1 "It ties right into HUMAN evolution. It is a direct connection or flow chart."
You're using a slippery slope logical fallacy based on a straw man logical fallacy. Cosmology is a separate study from biology, and nowhere in Big Bang cosmology is it asserted that everything came from nothing, or from an explosion. But ironically "everything from nothing" is exactly what creationists believe themselves, while at the same time projecting it onto science. -_-
@ApemanD SLIPPERY SLOPE??? LOL! It's good to see someone from your side of the discussionwith a sense of humor. " nowhere in Big Bang theory, is it asserted that everything came from nothin". Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?
@TheReformed1 "Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?"
We don't know.
But I'm as sure as I can be, willing, in fact, to bet my life and my eternal soul on the proposition that YOU don't know, either. You may ask, 'how can he be so cavalier?', to which I'll respond that nothing, NOT ONE SINGLE THING, you've stated has made me think that you might have had a shred of a point. You argue the same points repeatedly without verifying anything or listening.
@TheReformed1 "SLIPPERY SLOPE???" Yes, it's a logical fallacy. If you're unfamiliar with what a logical fallacy is and the various types of fallacies, a Google search is only a click away. "Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?" The Big Bang is an expansion of space, time and our universe, and not an explosion like in an Arnorld Schwarzenegger movie, and we don't know yet is the answer. Watch AronRa's video (Where did EVERYTHING come from?) watch?v=ANtpsunRYIs
@ApemanD Of course we state that everything molecular, came from nothing.. other than a creator, who was always there! See we have no problem with that theory. We have no problem with science. What we have a problem with is science fiction, ie: human evolution, being taught as trith and fact, when in actuality, it hasn't made it out of the hypothetical stage. It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven. And after all these years, you're no closer.
@TheReformed1 "Of course we state that everything molecular, came from nothing.. other than a creator, who was always there!"
Why do you exclude your creator?
That's remarkably faulty logic you've got there. EVERYTHING must have a creator, EVERYTHING........ Oh yea, EXCEPT for God, HE doesn't need a creator, OBVIOUSLY!
So why doesn't God need a creator?
"It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven"
It IS proven. You're fighting from an ignorant and uneducated perspective.
@TheReformed1 "It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven." You're just repeating falsehoods AronRa has addressed in this series. If you'd continue watching, you'd learn that all scientific theories remain scientific theories until disproven or replaced. Scientific theories are not proven, so the Germ theory of disease, Atomic theory, Chemical theory etc. remain theories like evolution. Science is empirical, rational, and not faith based like your position is.
@ApemanD Oh come now! You've not heard of the hypothesis of human evolution being taught as fact in our school system? It's common practice for modern science to flip to fact, what can't be proven, depending on the agenda.
@TheReformed1 The words you're using (Fact/Hypothesis/Theory) Mean something different when used in the context of science. No scientific theory is ever proven, so the Theory of gravity (General Relativity) is still a theory. Scientific facts are observations or pieces of data, and a scientific theory EXPLAINS the facts related to that theory. Theories don't graduate to become fact as if they could be proven fact in the colloquial sense. That's not how science works. watch?v=g7Ctl9nzEqs
@GoodAvatar Well he hasn't gotten back to me since my last reply, and it seems all he wants to do is trade insults with you. I'm not saying I'm above that, and I've certainly gotten fed up before too, but it seems if you stick to the facts and leave the insults out of the conversation, then they literally have nothing to say.
@ApemanD Yea, he really doesn't seem to like me at all. This little flame war started about a month or two back, and he seems to troll this video a LOT. It's become something of a mini-crusade to ridicule him every time he says something impossibly stupid. If he had questions or curiosities or he was genuinely searching for the truth, I wouldn't mind.
But he's not here for the truth, he's here to yell bullshit at atheists, so I yell bullshit right back at him. Trolling the troll, as it were.
@ApemanD Heads up, Apeman. This guy has no idea about anything he talks about. He makes shit up, he uses the same logical fallacies over and over and over again.
I like taking his quotes and then ridiculing him for it. Believe it or not, his writing ability used to be worse than his arguments.... Until I started mocking the shit out of him for it. He CAN learn, but it's usually by making fun of his stupidity and ignorance until he grudgingly concedes defeat. Troll the shit out of this idiot. :)

I like this series, but I'm concerned with how the narrator writes off miracles/supernatural/magic as nonsense as if self-apparent. When I went to Costa Rica and Haiti, my group witnessed about a dozen blind people healed after we prayed for them. Whether evolution is true or not, I don't know; but what I know is that for those people, they can see now after we prayed for them under the authority of Jesus. To write off miracles as mere subjective superstition seems foolish to me.
bdstimpson 3 months ago in playlist Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism
@bdstimpson
I thought your preferred dogma admonished against lying.
Faith healing has never, ever been demonstrated to actually work. All confirmed "cases" are cheap parlor tricks intended to deceive the weak-minded.
TheZooCrew 3 months ago
@TheZooCrew That's a very authoritative statement to make. I can give an example of a healing from my own life. My ankle had been twisted badly in high school so I couldn't run on it. A few years later, I learned miracles can still happen, so I had a friend pray for it. It stopped hurting. It's not a major miracle, but my ankle doesn't hurt. My friend's daughter was on her deathbed when a "miracle" turnaround saved her life. Maybe it was a coincidence that it happened the day we prayed for her.
bdstimpson 3 months ago
@bdstimpson
Why can't you produce any documentation of any of this, either? Why can't you prove anything?
TheZooCrew 3 months ago
@TheZooCrew I can talk to my friend about his daughter and see if he's got any of the medical records still. If interested, email me at bdstimpson@yahoo.com and I'll hook you up. When God does a legitimate miracle, he's never afraid of giving proof. (Otherwise, how will we know it's legitimate?) Or I can see if my friend Daniel Scalf (look him up) has records from his time with a brain tumor that was supposed to kill him. But that was a number of years ago, so he might not have them.
bdstimpson 3 months ago
@bdstimpson well wasn't that nice of god to take time away from giving children malaria to make your ankle feel better.
hempartist420 2 months ago 3
@bdstimpson Should I even ask for you to produce documentation of these miracles you're talking about? That's why these things usually happen in 3rd world countries where there are no medical records confirming that any of these people were actually blind, nor any sort of confirmation that any of them could -and still can- demonstrate that they have been healed since. What do we always see instead? People who either weren't afflicted to begin with, or who still are. Your miracles are lies.
AronRa 3 months ago 36
@AronRa I don't have documentation, and I probably won't be able to find it for most of the people. I might be able to get it for one girl we prayed for who couldn't read because her eyesight was so bad (legally though not actually blind) but then came back the next meeting reading. I still talk to her pastor occasionally via facebook. I could also point you to Bethel Church in Redding, CA (i.e. not 3rd world), where medical records have been kept for most of their reported "healings."
bdstimpson 3 months ago

It's how they dismiss all of the moral ambiguities inherent in the Judeo-Christian God.
portlyculver 8 months ago
@portlyculver As much as I understand your reasoning, it is still a fallacy. It is the Appeal to Force or the "Might Makes Right" fallacy. Just because he has the authority to do something, or doing so is in his nature, does not mean God should or is justified in doing so.
If someone can judge god to be good, then he is subject to some moral standard, not above it. The same thinking that allows you to judge something as good allows you to judge them as evil. It's no different.

Start with abiogenisis. Even though he is an idiot , cameron is right...No unrefutable evidence for macro evolution is presented by testable science. Frogs are frogs and dogs are dogs, their is an apparent limitation for the DNA code to vary past that.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "Even though he is an idiot , cameron is right...No unrefutable evidence for macro evolution is presented by testable science."
Sure there's evidence of "macro" evolution. (btw, there is no such thing as macro and micro evolution... it's the same process) Some of the strongest evidence is incredibly interesting, like the bacteria that eats polyester, for example, or the Hawaiin Butterflies who can now eat bananas when they couldn't previously. Truly fascinating stuff.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar looking at the evidence from the polyester eating bacteria there is a good chance that the variation and ability was already encoded in the bacteria. It certainly isn't moving away from being a bacteria because of apparent limitations in the DNA code. Fruit flies are a good example of genetic manipulation ( speeding natural selection if you will). Guess what it just kept being a fruit fly, Not a single improvement to the one that is found in very old amber deposits.

@smoothpeople33 If you say so. Personally, I'm not inclined to believe you on your word.
Because, and I may be wrong on this one but... I'm willing to bet you have an.... alternative theory?
Just cynical speculation on my part, but I'd betcha you have a different story to tell.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar I prefer to stick to what I think is right and leave personal theory's about philosophy for other areas. I feel I was robbed in my education by not being shown any conflicting opinion about any of the curriculum, that isn't a service to the young budding minds of the world. None of that is about the argument that variety is built into the DNA code. Adaptation isn't evolution from common decent. People that claim proof of that aren't being 100% honest. It is a belief factually.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 Believe whatever you want for whatever reason you want. Knock yourself out believing stupid shit. But, be aware that just because you believe something doesn't mean it's necessarily true.
However, if you can back something up with proof when you make a claim, you become far more credible. For example, if you state that you're uneducated, and that you don't believe in "evolution from common decent" (great spelling, btw) that's pretty good evidence that you're correct.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar one animal becoming another has never actually been observed only through inference of other evidence is it believed. Just because I can poke holes in a mud to man model of the creation of life doesn't make it untrue. There is just a lot of faith that has to be taken to buy it all hook line and sinker. You shouldn't need a licence to speak out against something that seams so ridiculously silly. Mud turning to a man, plant , and every other living thing on the planet.

Evolutionists have more religious fanaticism then ANY religion, this starts throwing red flags to the observant.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "their is no controversy and no need to look critically at the facts of evolution from mud to man"
That's because there IS no controversy. The scientists who study evolution(as in, it's their job to study it.... they get paid to understand it) overwhelmingly support the theory. They're the experts in this kind of field, and I can trust their assertions due to the scientific method. Nothing has even come CLOSE to upsetting the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection.
Good try.

Natural selection/random order are both science fiction now, always have been abd always will be.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "I originally called the science fiction of human evolution a theory instead of what it is, a hypothesis, for your benefit." Sure you did. ;) Getting rid of the theory won't change the fact evolution happens. Remember that theories are based on facts and explain them, and those pesky facts are a bitch to say the least. To learn why evolution is a fact, watch AronRa's 15th FFOC pt2.
"You're all a bunch of very bitter people.." <---Psychological projection. Have a nice day. :)
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD Remember that theories are based on facts!!!!!! Are you freakin serious???? Facts are born from theories after proper research has made the evidence conclusive! Hypothesis, is the idea, which becomes a theory after enough data shows a very strong possibilty. Of course someone tried to cover for science by stating the ridiculous notion, that in science, terms are different. HA! HA! HA!
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "HA! HA! HA!"
Always laughing, you and I.

I'm calling Poe's law on this guy. He's all yours.
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD Poe's law?
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar Do a Google search on Poe's law. TheReformed1 could just be pretending to be a fundie fucktard. Some make it obvious on purpose usually very subtly, because they want people to figure out they're trolling, but most are aggro and hard to read and don't want to be caught. For an example of a subtle Poe look on my subs for Watergaia.
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD Yea, that would fit perfectly, if true. I definitely won't say it's for certain, but I've had some suspicion for a while now.
Then again, it's sometimes hard to tell when people are insanely obnoxious and idiotic and when they're being insincere. There really are people out there who sincerely believe the kind of shit this douchebag spreads. Either way, it should probably be contested and I advocate that people start contesting it, even if it DOES overly amuse a few internet fuckwads.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar Let me help you two sloths out here! Poe's law in this instance, believe it or not, would actually err more to you than me. Now granted, I am a reformed theological christian, but the "flame war" in Poe's ideology, was started by you guys and your inability to accept or even tolerate other beliefs, esp. in the case of christianity, when there is much more existential evidence than your foolish whimsical belief in human evolution.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "your inability to accept or even tolerate other beliefs, esp. in the case of christianity"
What are you talking about? Of COURSE I accept that Christianity is a belief. It's a wrong belief, but that's okay, you can believe it if you want to.
And of course I tolerate Christianity. I'm not trying to ban books, I'm not trying to stop the spread of your superstition or resisting it in any way.
Wait, actually, now that I think of it, I DO like making fun of it. That's still tolerance
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar If you truly accepted other faith based beliefs along with human evolution, then you wpould have no problem discussiong them. But for you to immediately verbally demean people that are diverse from you, shows 1.) you're a hypocrite, 2.) you're intolerant and 3.) you're threatened, which is understandable in this case, because you faith in a bizarre belief, human evolution, which is unsubsytantiated by science, would make other well thought beliefs, threatening to someone like you.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 It's not intolerant to make fun of people, dumbass. I'm sorry that you don't know know the definition of TOLERANCE, but maybe you should look it up.
I'm not trying to stop you from saying or believing in superstitious bullshit. I'm not trying to oppress you or keep you from praying to your magic underwear man in the clouds.
I'm just making fun of you, because your beliefs are ridiculous and they're causing you to turn your back on reality.
It's hilarious.... and sad.

TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1"for you to immediately verbally demean people that are diverse from you"
I'm not demeaning you because you're diverse, or even because you support creationism.
I demean you because you're an idiot. You don't bother to actually study this information, you aren't bothering to check yourself and ask why you believe things that are clearly wrong, you support total lies and you want to miseducate the next generation.
These are horrible things. You deserve to be insulted.

TheReformed1 11 months ago
@ApemanD What both of your personalities are struggling with here Sybil, is that you know I'm right. Your science doesn't prove me wrong, ( cuz it can't) and you are drawn to it against your own wills, through the very core of your existence, your hatred for others. You truly are split personality of asses!
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "Sybil, is that you know I'm right."
Really, you're a psychic now?
The truth is you don't know what I know.
Now, THAT is armchair psychology.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar The obserance of dual personalities does not fall under the category of "Physchic"! Harry Potter, E.S.P., human evolution etc.etc. those are much closer to the realm of paranormal sciences.

@TheReformed1

GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@ApemanD So based on that result of scientific research and realizing that both you and goodavatar are"mentally" challenged due to your smaller brains, I condescended to you linguistic ability so that it would make sense to you.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar Thing is on the catholics aren't Christians, it doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when followers of science fiction, like you, think they can comment intelligently on something they know and care nothing about. It obviously fro some "Freudian", causes you a problem. Why is that?
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "What bothers me is when followers of science fiction, like you, think they can comment intelligently on something they know and care nothing about. It obviously fro some "Freudian", causes you a problem. Why is that?"
Your Catholic conspiracy thing is interesting because I don't believe your statements. You're incredibly defensive about it, yet you never openly defend it. I think that your ignorance and bigotry can probably be traced once we find out where you got this from.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar Im sorry to burst your bubble but people stretch the truth and their imaginations sometimes in a quest to build a career and if your going to trust them without critically looking at evidence because you trust is so high, not much i can help you with. You said it yourself, their paid to support their theory.
Henkels embryo sketches were a blatant misinterpretation of the facts and it is still taught as good science. Just one example.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "Im sorry to burst your bubble but people stretch the truth and their imaginations sometimes in a quest to build a career"
Correct, some people do that. But if you even TRY that in Science, you'll find a fucking cold reception. The reason is because of the Peer Review Process. Look it up.
Basically, if you create a scientific paper and attempt dishonest science, others will immediately detect it and your work will not be trusted. Science is about looking for errors, not careers.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar I understand peer review and how it works. You are lying to yourself or you don't think that peer review acts as a knowledge filter. I kept me from learning about many enigmas about science for over 20 years, what is the fear? Things such as poly strata trees, inverted areas of the geologic column, and migration habits of birds and fish to name just a couple.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "you don't think that peer review acts as a knowledge filter"
Of COURSE it acts like a knowledge filter. That's the fucking POINT. Ideas that are dishonest or faulty do not make it past a peer review. Creationism is dishonest AND faulty, with shoddy logic that doesn't even TRY to approach a scientific peer review anymore.
The peer review takes available evidence and scrutinizes proposed theories with a VERY strict and VERY harsh set of standards and requirements. Rightly so.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar You seam to always miss the point. Their were things I should have learned in school that the knowledge filter kept out. The peer review process you trust so much is under fire and change as we sit. The knowledge pirates will be forced to step back or have the credibility more widely criticized. The truth dosent need to be protected.
smoothpeople33 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "The peer review process you trust so much is under fire and change as we sit"
It shouldn't be. It works just fine. It's that strenuous process that's given us all of the medical, electrical, hydrological, metallurgical, and biological technology that makes our lives comfortable and healthy. It ensures that pseudo-science(such as creationism, alchemy, astrology, acupuncture, etc.) doesn't get taught as though it were fact and ensures that facts can be taught without dispute.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@smoothpeople33 "The truth dosent need to be protected."
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar Acually, we've seen evidence that has become fact to the contrary! If you DON'T stretch the truth in the direction of the "herd mentality" in the scientific community, you'll find a cold reception! Global warming e-mail scandal! Need I say more?
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "If you DON'T stretch the truth in the direction of the "herd mentality" in the scientific community, you'll find a cold reception! Global warming e-mail scandal"
Those are unrelated topics YET AGAIN! Evolution is unrelated to global warming, at least as far as I know. You pulled another logical fallacy called a Red Herring. That's where you try to distract the debate by bringing up completely unrelated subjects, which you did.
Have you ever talked to a scientist? Ever?
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 The reason I attack your spelling and writing is because those are visible indications of a person's general education and intelligence. The more clearly and concisely a person can transmit his thoughts, the more I take the person seriously. People who read or write a great deal intuitively understand this. Conversely, the stupider and lazier a person is, the more obviously his writing suffers.
Errors and screwups I understand, but a willful PRIDE in ignorance? Pathetic.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar LOL! The reason you attack my spelling and writing is because you're an unfortunate loser and as usual on the downside of the discussion you turn to to stupid, last resort vitriol. And you're a conservative libertarian??? Hmmm. Well then you ar truly an embarrasement to libertatians everywhere!
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "Well then you ar truly an embarrasement to libertatians everywhere!"
Why would I be an embarrassment to libertarians everywhere? I want a minimalist government. I don't think anything I've ever said has ever been against libertarian ethics and standards. It's truly what I advocate.
So why would that be incompatible with the Theory of Evolution? For that matter, why would being a conservative have anything to do with the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection?
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar BTW, there is no such word as stupider1 It's stupid, more stupid and most stupid. Those are called proper declentions. Stupider and stupidest are truly reserverd to the people that best represent those error laden words. YOU!
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "there is no such word as stupider1"
That's true. There IS no such word as stupider1. However, I've been using the term stupider for so long that I unconsciously used the term. however, it pays to note that language is always evolving(lol) and if it isn't a proper English word now, it will become one eventually. These things happen.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago

TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 Evolution is not faith based, dumbass, it's evidence based. That's the complete opposite of faith. What world do you live on that you feel you can just state the complete opposite as though it were true with such maniacal idiocy?
Biology is Evidence based, too.... Do you know what evidence it's based on? Evolution.
Do you know what evidence modern Medicine is founded on? You know, what doctors had to learn before they pulled you out of your mother? Biology.
Again, LOOK IT UP!!
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar No it's faith based idiot! A large amount of HUMAN EVOLUTION is based on faith, that the evidence found in applied, practical or literal science leads to this rediculous notion, that looong ago, before ANYTHING existed...ANYTHING, a huge explosion took place forming the universe...FROM ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! LOL! Then all these cells/molecules, started lining up to form solid matter, which, so on and so on. And you believe that crap. Not to smart on your part.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "a huge explosion took place forming the universe...FROM ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! "
That's cosmology, not evolution. They're not the same. Try again.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@GoodAvatar It ties right into HUMAN evolution. It is a direct connection or flow chart. Do your homework before you blow out stupid statements like that.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "It ties right into HUMAN evolution. It is a direct connection or flow chart."
You're using a slippery slope logical fallacy based on a straw man logical fallacy. Cosmology is a separate study from biology, and nowhere in Big Bang cosmology is it asserted that everything came from nothing, or from an explosion. But ironically "everything from nothing" is exactly what creationists believe themselves, while at the same time projecting it onto science. -_-
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD SLIPPERY SLOPE??? LOL! It's good to see someone from your side of the discussionwith a sense of humor. " nowhere in Big Bang theory, is it asserted that everything came from nothin". Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?"
We don't know.
But I'm as sure as I can be, willing, in fact, to bet my life and my eternal soul on the proposition that YOU don't know, either. You may ask, 'how can he be so cavalier?', to which I'll respond that nothing, NOT ONE SINGLE THING, you've stated has made me think that you might have had a shred of a point. You argue the same points repeatedly without verifying anything or listening.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
Hey, guess what, Reformed1? I found some Dr. Ken Hamm quotes, which I'd like to share with everyone! Isn't that nice? :-)
“The real purpose is to say the Bibles true, and its history. Genesis is true.”
“We're putting evolutionists on notice: We're taking the dinosaurs back.”
“Oh, absolutely, ... because, you know, the Bible teaches that God made land animals on day six, alongside of Adam and Eve.”
“Evolutionary Darwinists need to understand we are taking the dinosaurs back."
REALLY??? ROFL!!!
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "SLIPPERY SLOPE???" Yes, it's a logical fallacy. If you're unfamiliar with what a logical fallacy is and the various types of fallacies, a Google search is only a click away. "Well, then where did the material that formed the Big Bang", come from?" The Big Bang is an expansion of space, time and our universe, and not an explosion like in an Arnorld Schwarzenegger movie, and we don't know yet is the answer. Watch AronRa's video (Where did EVERYTHING come from?) watch?v=ANtpsunRYIs
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD Of course we state that everything molecular, came from nothing.. other than a creator, who was always there! See we have no problem with that theory. We have no problem with science. What we have a problem with is science fiction, ie: human evolution, being taught as trith and fact, when in actuality, it hasn't made it out of the hypothetical stage. It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven. And after all these years, you're no closer.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "Of course we state that everything molecular, came from nothing.. other than a creator, who was always there!"
Why do you exclude your creator?
That's remarkably faulty logic you've got there. EVERYTHING must have a creator, EVERYTHING........ Oh yea, EXCEPT for God, HE doesn't need a creator, OBVIOUSLY!
So why doesn't God need a creator?
"It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven"
It IS proven. You're fighting from an ignorant and uneducated perspective.
GoodAvatar 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 "It is faith based, because you all HOPE it can be proven." You're just repeating falsehoods AronRa has addressed in this series. If you'd continue watching, you'd learn that all scientific theories remain scientific theories until disproven or replaced. Scientific theories are not proven, so the Germ theory of disease, Atomic theory, Chemical theory etc. remain theories like evolution. Science is empirical, rational, and not faith based like your position is.
ApemanD 11 months ago
@ApemanD Oh come now! You've not heard of the hypothesis of human evolution being taught as fact in our school system? It's common practice for modern science to flip to fact, what can't be proven, depending on the agenda.
TheReformed1 11 months ago
@TheReformed1 The words you're using (Fact/Hypothesis/Theory) Mean something different when used in the context of science. No scientific theory is ever proven, so the Theory of gravity (General Relativity) is still a theory. Scientific facts are observations or pieces of data, and a scientific theory EXPLAINS the facts related to that theory. Theories don't graduate to become fact as if they could be proven fact in the colloquial sense. That's not how science works. watch?v=g7Ctl9nzEqs

@ApemanD Yea, he really doesn't seem to like me at all. This little flame war started about a month or two back, and he seems to troll this video a LOT. If he had questions or curiosities or he was genuinely searching for the truth, I wouldn't mind.
But he's not here for the truth, he's here to yell bullshit at atheists, so I yell bullshit right back at him. Trolling the troll, as it were.
