  • no such thing as 540 round hous

  • I see some people call it a tornado kick.

  • Those were both 540 kicks, good job who ever did them, i cant do them yet. The 540 tornado (or round house) looked a bit weird but it was still done and the board still broke.

  • HEY! YAY!

  • pretty bad ass!

  • Do you know what the kicks are called in my Taekwondo video? It's called Taekwondo Board Kicks.

  • I am having a hard time understanding the reasoning behind spining more than 180 degrees to deliver any technique. Someone enlighten me as to the reason ,unless it is for one's own ego, maybe to show off,or it might be to demonstrate that one can spin around without falling down, not sure really. Curious. I am thinking maximum force, minimum effort to destroy the opponent? Am I wrong here?

  • @justaman6972 It's not about force. Once you face someone who does this kick on you, you'll understand. Each spin is basically a fake - it's hard to explain.

From the moment he starts, you'll expect a kick and shuffle back to dodge it, but you won't shuffle enough, and when the kick comes, he'll be within range of your head. That is, if you're not trained to fight against TKD.

  • nice techniques. not clean but still nice execution

  • the kicks are powerfull but they looks like shit

  • why break boards...

    if you can break flesh

  • @kastutan why break flesh if you don't have to?

  • um second kick was like a jumping spin kick srry....hook kick looks diferent

  • @Ech53 no, its supposed to be a 540 hook kick

  • dahhht wazz hella fucken tight'

  • chuck norris broke both boards in one jump....

  • Koreans can break 3 with one.

  • my team.

  • not realy

  • srry rong person

  • the 2nd kick is the hard one ..

  • not realy

  • This is just my opinion: being able to do the kick is one thing but being able to apply the kick with enough power, technique, and accuracy to brake a board is excellent. I think that gives you the right to call yourself good Nice kicks!!! (my 2 cents)

  • I double Agree with that.

  • i agree with you but i dont think the power is the issue... the kick is really fast.( not just his kick but the kick itself) the accuracy is the key.. i still cant do a very pretty 540 :( (my 2 cents lol)

  • those were sharp, but if he thinks hes good cus he can do that he's wrong, im a 1st degree black belt and i can do a 540 kick and a tornado kick

  • Post a video response, not just a plain text comment.

PS: I can do a 1080 kick and a Hurriacane Katrina kick. And my belt is so black, its a blackhole with enought gravity con consume the entire solar system.

  • you can do a 1080 hurricane katrina kick too!?! awesome!

  • your so full of shit, your like 12 and all your videos are of you sitting on your ass playing rock band or rolling around like a retard

lets see your kick, you have a kicking bag. use it and show us

  • HEY!!

  • the first we wouldnt call it a 540...tornado kick or "mon Dolyo chagi" turning roundhouse....the second is a proper 540 hook

  • I guess I commented too quickly. Yes, they are both 540. I mistaked the first one for the similar 360.

  • no the first 1 was a 540 ....

  • the first one was a 540, the second one was a 720

  • Actually it's a 360 and a 540. Learn math.

  • Nah its a 540.

The first kick went over the 360 line.

  • Def not a 540...if anything it's a 480....or a one-legged tornado...not a 540 though.

  • there are many variations to the 540

it doesnt neccessarily have to be just one kind of kick to be 540,

a 540 kick is basically any kick with a 540 degree rotation to it

  • brilliant!

  • Comment removed

  • Breaking with a roundhouse isnt that easy, now a 540, crazy. Then a 720 hook, nuts.

  • 540 hook, 720 is again a tornado

  • great man!!!!!

  • OMG. i do nto understand tornado, cheat etc.

first one: right foot in front one complete rotation kick and the kicking leg (right) lands on the back = 360+180=540 deg.

the second one:starting by right foor in front, finishe with right foot in front at the completion of the technique = 720deg.

this is a perfect dispaly of their difference.

youstar by tornado, then with 540 and then hopefully by 540 as you progress. and yes not effective but very difficult and nice to watch

  • first kick: 540

    second kick: 720

    Taekwon-do Style

  • no.. if u want to define it in tkd terms.

the first kick is a weh bahl turn/kick the second kick would be considered a 540 in real wtf/itf taekwondo.

  • OO YEAHH???

  • HEY! WAD DO YA WANT!

  • yea he did. the first kick was a 540

  • Impractical? Hell yes.

Cool to look at? Hell yes.

  • Very good , but the board does not hit back.

  • jajajaja thats what bruce lee said

  • boards dont hit back

  • ah,the board does not hit back,a classic bruce lee phrase

  • well physics-wise they do.

if you put 300 pounds of force into a wall that doesnt break, all that force will bounce back into your foot, hand, palm, knee, head, fingers,

  • Looks great

  • either way, I'm impressed...

  • The first is not a 540. The first is a showman's tornado roundhouse.

  • I cant nail the frikin 540 hook kick, the first looked more like an adapted 360

  • how the fuck is that a 360 if you rotate 540 degrees???

  • shut the fuck up retard, it was a 360 landed on the kicking leg. The second kick was a Tae Kwon Do 540 degree kick. Fucks sake people these days.

  • actually tkd cant claim kicks...the second kick was a 720 and the first kick was a solid 540

  • Oh I dnt know about that, all i know is as I explained it is CORRECT for what i percieve to be as a 'Tae Kwon Do' 540 degree kick, whether it originates from tae kwon do or not.

  • ok i guess but i was thinkin abt a regular 540...it goes 180, 360, 540, 720...each kick adds an extra 180 degrees and i guess that was wut i was suggesting

  • agree with u man i usually call the 1st one cheat 540 but yours is cool too

    all these nontaekwondoers...

  • wheres the hook kick?

  • that last kick was a 540 hook dude

  • not sayin that i'm a pro at this.. i only have experience in real fights but i yea its true that in school fights are completely different to real ones..

anyways.. that first kick is a tornado kick from what i know.. other than that.. the 540 was pretty decent

  • You land on your back (non-kicking) when executing a tornado kick, when you land on your front (kicking) foot it's a 540. I've also heard that as a bali kick in TKD.

  • yeah i like to refer to is as boley..lolz

  • amazing!

  • Hmm... Actually the first one is a pretty decent 540 roundhouse. It's going up, over, and down with the same foot, and I count that as three half-turns. The 540 hook is textbook as well, with the other two rotations done in the air.

  • I woundnt call myself a master either, but then what do you call a 5th degree black belt, with 540 kick mastery?

  • some people may say this move is impractical, but i think this move is good for suprising the opponent, catching them off guard, like they'd expect a 360 kick and therefore try to block it,then when you spin into the 540 and their mind would be too preoccupied by bracing themself for the 360 and is therefore open to the 540 hit

  • Thats actually a 360 round not a 540, you can tell because he kicks with his front leg, I've done that one; however, the 540 hook is quite impressive. I haven't quite figured it out yet

  • If it was 360 - I would end up facing the same way I start - I end up facing the opposite direction...so I call it a 540 or a "cheat" 540 because you do the first 1/2 turn with 1 foot on the ground - honestly, I could care less what people call it - it is what it is...

    thanks for posting.

    gw

  • Yeah I see what you are talking about, a cheat 540 would be a good description. Its a good kick none the less. Still, props on the 540 hook, I think that is very impressive

  • @bluewavetkd A 540 kick these days has also just come to mean a round/crescent kick which lands on the kicking leg. 'Generally' a kick done in this manner will cause the person to spin a extra at the end. These kicks were great; very good form.

  • @bluewavetkd agree, i enjoy these breaking cuz it impressive to watch but, the first one he did is a 360 and he land after spinning another tour. if is a 540, he would kick with the left legs when the first spin is finish.

  • @bluewavetkd Dont listen to that fag, the first one wasnt a 540, but the other was a perfect well done 540, so fuck all those smartass, just dont respond to those guys

  • @SteveHickson8 they dont count the rotation to call it a 540. it is called 540 by People. It is the Name. his last kick is 720 or 540 hook. bla bla just a name of a kick. dont count rotation to call it that way. that is why they dont call it a "540 degree kick" instead of 540 itself.

  • Asian people are better. Or to get even more specific Korean people are way better.

  • very pretty but very impractical

  • thats pretty crazy dude

  • ahahaha

    Hey!..... HEY!!

  • Very nice kick

    Sensei J.P. 3rd Dan Tae-Kara Karate

  • cool kick

  • Go master white!

I'll see you in the fall when i get back to school.

  • thats not 540 kick...

he only did 360 in the air...

watch sum other vids too see how its dun...

  • 1 Full spin + Hall body spin = 540 Spin. This is a 540 kick.. Go play some Tony Hawk For lessons!!

  • ok.

  • please look at my tkd board break vids. thanks

  • the last kick was pretty insane :P

  • martial: Of, relating to, or suggestive of war

art: Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature

where is your head at paul phoenix?

  • is for you simundo :D ... for some reason youtube keep my words away from you ... a counteraction of youtube's nature?

  • ive seen that kick at extremely high speed in the middle of a fight. its hard to master but this fast "fancy" as u call it kick is so powerful that it can be lethal. Get ur facts straight

  • That kick is telegraphed like crazy. The only way anyone is gonna get hit by the full force of it is by standing still. Just by watching some sanshou, those guys grab kicks all the time! And fighting some guy on the street, the second he sees you spinning around he's just gonna dive in and tackle you, trying to out muscle you. Or at the very least he's gonna back up. And let's not forget that unlike boards and sports participants, good street fighters know about blocking/dodging.

  • Well until you can do better stfu. little 12 year old boy.

  • Er... yeah. I've fought some TKD guys before. They thought they could handle someone with "no training" and they thought their "black belt experience" would put them a "step above" your average Joe... so they had an inflated ego, wanted to show off how tough they were...

And then they ended up tripping over their own feet because they weren't used to fighting somewhere outside of a school. I didn't even have to touch them before they fell on the ground.

    I just walked away laughing.

  • what kind of technique you use in your fights?i like to see a video and learn from the master.

  • Lol, I never claimed I was a master, and I don't feel the need to prove myself to some guys on the internet.

If you don't already know that there is a difference between fighting in the school and fighting in real life, and if you don't already know that some people cannot make the switch, then you need more experience. Nothing I show you will change that.

Again, I'm not saying it's a bad technique, but not everyone can do it successfully.

  • i was being sarcastic of course. lol

  • I'm not saying it's a BAD technique. I'm just saying it's difficult to pull off.

I agree that a well trained person can do it, even in a real fight in uneven and unfamiliar ground and unstable footing. But for every 1 person I see able to pull off the technique, I see 10 others that, LITERALLY, fall flat on their faces. (I've fought a lot of TKD guys, friendly and unfriendly)

Unless you KNOW for CERTAIN you can do a technique like this, DON'T. Simple is best. Simple is safe.

  • the 2nd kick is fucking insane

  • very nice a 360 and a 540 i'm trying a 540 now, i can do the spin, but i just can't get my leg up to do the kick

  • lol i can do a 720 full spin (no cheat) but i cant even get the leg up at 540 xD. Guess i need more practice (i practiced tricking but ive just got into tkd like 1 month ago so yeah...)

  • WOAAAH the 2nd kick was lyk a 720!!!!!!!!!!

  • The key is stretching and constant training. the best time to hold a stretch is 30 sec,and make sure you feel the pain!

  • wow nice i can do a 360 Round House but i dont think i can do that lol . ;]

  • Unbeliavable.......

You remind me of hworang in tekken!!!!!

P.s you or however that was in the vid lool ^_^

  • by the time one of you guys had finished talking about what the move is actually called youd have a bad headache...WHACK!

  • yeah,i agree.lol

  • yeah,i agree.lol

  • Does it really matter what its called? All i know is i would hate to be on the recieving end of either one of those

  • Forget the name, this is incredible skill. Maybe this guy can't fight in the ufc, but this is incredible all the same.

  • the first kick is called boli, its just turning behind roundhouse kick, but you land on the same foot you kick with

the second one is 540, get ot right, idiots!!!!!

  • I love how the majority of posts on this clip are about what the techniques are called. The fact is, a 540 spin hook and cheat 720 are the same technique. A Boli is a cheat 540 round house...but then again, I guess it depends on who you ask...:-)

  • PRACHTIG!!!

  • im an xma'ist and a taekwondo'ist and the roundhouse landing on kicking leg is 540 and teh hook kick is the cheat 720

  • correct...

  • yea That hook kick is the 540 not the roundhouse but still this is awsome I can do a roundhouse as welll but its so hard fro me to pull me leg around to do a hoook can someone help me.

  • id call those both 360s. for each he was only in the air for a 360. the rest was all pivoting on the ground. still looks awesome though.

  • its 540kick and cheat 720kick....

the 540 is pop and the 720 is backspin....its hard!!

  • There was no pop in there...They were both cheat setups. Not pop.

  • This is Taekwondo...

  • dude, this makes me wanna go out and learn some karate..

  • Plus he didn't adjust for the 2nd kick - he just did the kick from where he landed from the first one! that is impressive.

  • Nice that he did 2 of them back to back - very sharp!

  • hit someone in their face wit that then u knock em out cold!!!

  • lo lthats not hard but nice breaks

  • nice dude.....540 was clean and same for Cheat 720

  • That was clean. looks real good.

  • O My God. That was amazing. I have a blue belt but dude... keep it up :o

  • holy shit

  • best 540 spin hook kick on all of youtube!!!!!!!!

    props man

  • thanks very much for the compliment, but there are some pretty nice 540 on YouTube - including triple target 540s.

  • amazin... where can i learn to do that?

  • That was pretty effing sweet.

  • nice one ;)

  • Awesome kicks, your fighting style has a much wider range of kicks than kickboxing. Question though, have you ever had a match with a MMA/Muay Thai Kick Boxer??

  • thanks!

I practice Olympic Style Taekwondo - I never fought any MMA/Muay Thai - I coach some competitive students, who I spar with, but I don't compete anymore. (i am old guy now! :-)

  • can u give any tips on the slip reverse turning kick, as my hips don`t seem to get round prob my old age

  • hey r u right legged?i am and i do normal 540 rounds w/ my right, then shud i rotate the same way(CCW) n kick w/ left for 540 hooks? @_@ im so confuzed

  • Yes, I am right legged, I actually learned the hook kick first, then went back to do 540 round.

  • k ty, sweet kicks btw

  • that was neat. I have never seen it done so slowbut still look ok.

  • yeah ... sorry

  • i think is 360° spin hook kick

  • that was way more then a 360 ? :S thats a 540 ... no?

  • Nah, I think only the second was a 540. The former looks more like a 360° roundhouse. I could do that when I was a sixth kup (green belt); now I can't :P (I am no longer training... :().

  • the first is 540 round house - if it was 360, you would end up looking the same direction you start, but you turn an extra 180 and land facing the opposite direction.

  • I don't think so. In order to be a 540 degrees, you should turn 540 in air, while you are doing only 180 degrees in air, and the other 360° is done at ground. I think 540 degrees is called so because you turn for 540° in air, not on ground. So you should have jumped first, in order to do a 540°. That circular kick you have done is quite simple (for me).

  • Whatever, great kicks ;)

  • I agree - what ever. It is what is. Thanks by the way!

  • edraith is right, the only reason he look the other way is because the next kick is facing that way. Watch it in slow motion again, the back foot turn 180 leaving the ground then the other foot jump for the kick is another 180, 180 + 180 = 360. For the next kick, instead of kicking the roundhouse, he throws another 180 turning the kick into a back hook kick, 180 + 180 + 180 = 540.

  • The second one was a 540 hook kick.

  • that was nice

  • amazing technique and speed

  • Nice
