Not correct this time Steve. Lifting creates the stimulus for growth but the food we eat gives us the building blocks for growth. No pro bodybuilder got huge muscle from a diet of ice cream and doughnuts. If that were the case then no one woulld bother eating clean. You have to lift right AND EAT right to get results, fact, not opinion.
@123manny321 you fuckin retard pro bodybuilders use steroids you fucktart so how the hell are you gonna compare anybody lifting natural with them you cunt just leave.
@inofe Now that made me laugh out loud! What I'm talking about is human physiology, plain and simple. Those steroid munchers are no exception to the physiological rule MUSCLE IS MADE OF PROTEIN (ACTIN & MYOSIN) SO IF YOU DON'T EAT PROTEIN YOUR MUSCLES WONT GROW!!! Steroids only speed up the rate of protein synthesis (make you grow quicker) they DO NOT make you grow out of nothing.
Is there any way to enhance the muscle growth? For example, if I eat 1800 calories a day to stay lean, will I put on less muscle than if I ate 2400 calories a day? I don't mind the extra fat for a while if it means increased strength and muscle, I burn fat like crazy anyway so I can always get rid of it later. I just want to build muscles as efficiently in a short amount of time possible. I have noticed that when Im more fat I'm more energetic and lift better.
@titans091052 I'm talking about fat loss not weight loss, of course if we eat less than the TDEE we will lose weight. I'm not interested in weight loss, I'm interested only in fat loss
Are you actually saying that I can eat whatever I want i.e chocolates, pastries, junk food, etc but as long as I am working out intensely in the gym I will gain muscle weight. Also same thing for losing body fat you said in one of your videos that it doesnt matter what you eat what matters is how much you eat. Does that mean i can eat at KFC all day but as long as I eat less than my total daily energy expenditure I will still lose body fat?
@sreejicrawl If you get you protein, vitamins, and work out hard, eating junk food won't inhibit your gains. You could have a diet 100% made of soda, skittles, and hamburgers and as long as calories eaten are less than TDEE you will lose weight. Google "twinkie diet." This professor lost 27 lbs eating nothing but twinkies to prove the calorie point.

Hi im half usa and half japanese by blood. does genetics play a part in muscle volume growth? Ive been one of the best bench pressers in highschool, striving to become one of the better bench pressers in university, however one thing ive noticed is that my muscles are alot smaller than my competitors although i am stronger than most of them. Do you have any tips how to increase size?
@Bazmari your not eating enough... it should fix your size issues. I grew stronger but did not eat extra to build muscle so i gained strenght but not much in size. I upped my protein and carbs and in a few months saw great difference.
I have the same issue. Im muscular and stronger than alot of guys who are bigger but I wanted the size that they have. Unfortunately genetics does play a role in muscle size. Just think! If you take 5 or 6 guys and none of them workout somebody is still gonna be bigger. Thats genetics. Now their lifestyle i.e. exercise and nutrician levels determine if they grow more or not. The good news is you can keep growing as long as you work harder. Its mental. If u look good and know ur stronger...hey!
Catabolic state, Is this true? I just dont feel right working out for 2 hrs then going home. Id rather work out my whole day, so is it allright, will i get stronger, or weeker if i spend 1 hr 30 min on each muscle, and do every single muscle all day long, is that okay?

@gokunarutosal hahaha catabolic during working out. sometimes i train for at least 2 hours and am very sore the next day and that week i gain a LOT of mass. :)
@gokunarutosal No. That is not true. Anarobic activty used primarily creatine and ATP in the muscle. Plus the actualy lifting isn;t long enough to require protein use. LONG CARDIO does but that's not weight lifting.

on the note of steroids, i hear that once you stop taking them you lose all of the muscle you gained with them. if this is true, how or why would you lose those gains after stopping steroid use?like what would cause that?
@CORNinfestedP00 Steve talked about this on another video. Steroids increase protein synthesis, so building muscle is alot easier. When a person stops taking steroids the protein synthesis will revert back to normal, and the abnormal muscle gaines from abnormal hormones and protein synthesis will also go away. Take away the steroid enviroment in the body and the steroid like gains cannot be sustained. This is why baseball players need to juice constantly and not just once.
on some of your videos you are reffering to steroids... I never understood what it means generally. Is it illigal drugs, is it supliments like a simple protein shake or a weight gainer, creatin multivitamins... what? :S
nilodes, you're alright, you just need to learn some things. You should be lifting heavier and not working out everyday. You need rest. You're weight is bouncing because you're probably putting on some muscle weight and losing fat weight and so on. I don't know what you're diet is like however. You know, I've invested thousands of dollars over the years learning how the body works and how to train. Want to really get in shape? Make a SMALL investment in yourself. im 5'9" and weigh 77kgs.. i dont look fat but i think im heavy.. i work out everyday for about 1 1/2hrs with light weights and cardio but my weight keeps bouncing from 75 to 77...sigh...
Can you build muscle by doing your reps range between 12-20 reps and doing 1 hour a cardio afterwards but working out only 3 times a week and eating right to where if you were weight 130 then next thing you know your weighing 137 ?
obviously :P. Mostly core muscles... but you don't add a lot of muscle this way. Mostly you just cut fat so it appears that you gain muscle :D cheers!!!! bwa bwa bwa
Off course you can add muscle by playing sports! However you have to bring it into perspective. Cause for example playing golf won't stress your body at all :P thus no muscle will be gained cause your body doesn't see the need to invest in bigger muscles that require daily energie to feed those new cells. However if you do karate or basketball you'll certainly increase in muscle size cause these sports tend to be more intense. But for quick results, go pump some iron ;)
Benardus, this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Unless this guy's doing power lifting, running across a basketball court is not going to build muscle. Go read up the basics behind muscular hypertrophy. Unfortunately, you have to lift weights.
It will build leg muscle, you sprint like crazy with basketball do that for 1 year and your legs will be bigger, or jump the for the basket, nothing light about that? I'm not saying it gives the best results, but you'll build muscle. Nothing ridiculous about that.
Do you exhale and inhale in the up and down motions on the deadlift and hacklift? I hear you should never breathe in or out when doing heavy lifting as this causes decompression in the spine which can be dangerous. I think there are many theories on this.
how many exercises per muscle group? like for biceps should i only do bicep curl or should i do 3 exercises for 1 muscle group? hope anyone readin this with experience can get back to me.....
if u workout really well with some heavy weights and pushing your muscels to do limit tree times a week plus eating A LOT !!! of food speciel meet (proteins) . i garranti u that u will change ur body in just three months and if u don't i'll pay 200 box. lol !
The body surelly changes in 3 months. It even changes in just a week. What I meant was that adding 1 pound of muscle per week seems a bit over the top.
sorry but i desagree u cuz i just rade that it's possible to put on 25 pound in just three months just now that u can do it so that u have some hope to realize it
who the fuck is your friend deadlift 700lb? that shits like ronnie coleman tell him to get his ass in mr olympia... oh ya thats right your friends not real..
If you wanna get bigger you have to add more protein. ALso have to add more carbs. If you eat 3,000 calories a day and weigh 185, you need to eat MORE than that to get bigger. 30/45/25 are good macronutrient ratios.
now im a bit confused..do genetics play a vital role in muscle building? if not, then how the hell did my friend gain 80 pounds in a little short of 2 years? im sure he gained a little fat but he can do almost a 700lb deadlift..he did take creatine for a while and eats a shit load
lots of healthy calories plus consistant strenuous muscle work equals muscle/weight gain. Not rocket science. Use good common sense and you can gain. The intensity of your work is going to greatly effect your results. Eat well,Work hard,Rest Repeat. You will grow. Do cardio also. Too many fools out there neglect their cardio needs. Just don't over do it. All that new muscle is gonna eat up alot of calories while you're just going about your life outside your exercise routine.
Hang on so the concept of what he is saying is eat what you want but go to the gym, that makes no sense whatsoever so lets take it to the extreme e.g. eat 1 bit of celery and go to the gym: well that supplies no energy to give the intensity he talks about in the gym, whilst, on the other hand eatin 20 burgers a day supplies the wrong sort of carbs and you will just put on masses of fat. What he says provides no common sense at all. Anyway just adding my opinion.
I think Steve means "do anaerobic workouts" instead of "going to the gym". Ofcourse you can do all the work at home as long as you have the equipment and knowledge. I'm sure Steve agrees.
u would be constantly buying more plates since u will lift more and more weight..beside human body adapts to sertain exercice making them inefective after a certain period and since dumbell is all u have u cant vary..also how do u workout back with dumbells?
so if you are working out really hard, do you still have to consume more food to gain the muscle. or can you eat the same amount of food but just workout
There are PLENTY of foods you can eat to help you become skinnier. Damn, when you blow it, you REALLY blow it!
You burn more calories eating celery than you get from it. A citrus aurentium fruit contains synephrine, a natural fat burner. Some foods contain HCA - hydroxy citric acid, which is a natural carb burner. Then there are foods that fill your stomach without providing significant calories. You really need to study more Steve.
I notice a lot of people posting stupid comments are over the age of 16 and that's really depressing, It's common sense, if you want to add more weight you just eat more, ok simple. and then he adds the important info about gaining MUSCLE weight, yes the only way you can do that is to ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Continue
I'm pretty sure tofu helped me gain muscle a little faster. It contains a substance similar to estrogen. A natural steroid perhaps. It's also extremely convenient. I think people who are naturally very relaxed and have high testosterone levels simply don't get what some others experience. If I ate whatever and worked out intensely I wouldn't heal as quickly and couldn't maintain my schedule.
im sorry buddy but ur info is not gud, if u wana add 5 or ten pounds eat more of the food u like... what kinda advice is that! u eat carbs and do no workout if u wana put on weight or eat deep fried food with carbs...what if sum1's fav food was salad, dont giv advice if u talk shite
ok i've seen some of your videos and they seem to make good sense and are really good, but how can i put on muscle body weight but lose body fat at the same time in order to see my abs for example whilst developing a heavier muscular body?
there are so many ways to work out and get bigger and so on like this gym tells, but... what worked for me was pushing the heavy weights that you normaly do but doing more reps... kinda like cardio in pushing weighs.
EG: regular bench 3 sets-70kg x 12;80kg x 10; 90kg x 8
what helped me was 6 sets 50kg x 15; 60kg x 15; 70kg x 12; 75kg x 10; 80kg x 10( im shitting my self by this point)85kg x 8-10 hits.
so you could drop the weighs a little and throw more sets into it.
Yea people , go to the gym to put on muscle . This was the secret for all these years and I did not know . Well I don't want to go to the gym ,I want to swim. That will not make me loo great though.
I've been skinny all my life. I'm 6'3" 152lbs. I'm trying to gain weight...it's kinda frustrating because I don't see much improvement. Any advice? I've always had a healthy appitite and can eat and eat and eat...but it's like i burn it off even if i just sleep all day. What's my problem??
Menkema has the right idea about eating and lifting. Gaining a small amount of fat is OK but what we really want to gain is muscle so lifing consistently will be important.
Um i think ill go with the theory that, IF i want to SHAPE my shoulders? or GROW my pecs? ill take MY chance with "CHALLENGING" My individual muscles thru "gym workouts". As opposed to relying on my food to fullfill these goals.. Put it this way? aynt work yet Lmao
While fast foods aren't the healthiest, there is still some food value. I wouldn't make eating them a habit. Remember, it's working out, not food, that gives you muscles.
actually, food is what gives your body the nutrients to make muscle. you cant build muscle if you dont eat. im sure what you meant to say was "to maximize muscle growth you need to stimulate your muscles by working out, along with eating a diet rich in proteins and carbs to promote repair of your muscles.
thats true, but what you said was "its working out, NOT FOOD, that gives you muscles." you make it sound like food is the least important part towards muscle growth when really it is probably THE MOST IMPORTANT idea to grasp.
Here's why. Contrary to popular beliefs and bodybuilding magazines, you don't need that much daily protein to build or maintain muscle. And that protein is easily supplied in the foods you eat without needed a special diet.
Thank you. I've had so many people watching my website I'm over my bandwidth. So I've had to remove some old movies until my website guy can restructure the site.

Benardus22 2 years ago
Benardus, this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Unless this guy's doing power lifting, running across a basketball court is not going to build muscle. Go read up the basics behind muscular hypertrophy. Unfortunately, you have to lift weights.

yea, ur right it definitely wont add muscle. it does make u lean tho, that guy dont kno wtf he talkn about.
tmizzle89 2 years ago
It will build leg muscle, you sprint like crazy with basketball do that for 1 year and your legs will be bigger, or jump the for the basket, nothing light about that? I'm not saying it gives the best results, but you'll build muscle. Nothing ridiculous about that.
Benardus22 2 years ago
Whatever Contracts your Muscles Intensely
Just lift Heavily
kristylejeff111 2 years ago
Or you can take Steroids
But even with the Juice you still gotta Contract those Muscles. Just lift Heavy and intensely with Explosive Movements.
kristylejeff111 2 years ago
what if you dont go to the gym but you play sports. will that add muscle?
sweetmrniceguy 2 years ago
I typically perform 3 intense exercises for each muscle group.
BodyPerformanceTV 2 years ago
Do you exhale and inhale in the up and down motions on the deadlift and hacklift? I hear you should never breathe in or out when doing heavy lifting as this causes decompression in the spine which can be dangerous. I think there are many theories on this.
swamimans 2 years ago
how many exercises per muscle group? like for biceps should i only do bicep curl or should i do 3 exercises for 1 muscle group? hope anyone readin this with experience can get back to me.....

i thonk protein is important during intense periods but i agre not to overdue it. Its also important to let the stoumack rest

1 pound a week? Pretty sure I can`t even put 1 pound a month! And I do workout pretty hard!
nandoanalog 2 years ago
Then either your training or diet suck.
simple.
aehammond 2 years ago
if u workout really well with some heavy weights and pushing your muscels to do limit tree times a week plus eating A LOT !!! of food speciel meet (proteins) . i garranti u that u will change ur body in just three months and if u don't i'll pay 200 box. lol !
mimod700 2 years ago
The body surelly changes in 3 months. It even changes in just a week. What I meant was that adding 1 pound of muscle per week seems a bit over the top.
nandoanalog 2 years ago
sorry but i desagree u cuz i just rade that it's possible to put on 25 pound in just three months just now that u can do it so that u have some hope to realize it
mimod700 2 years ago
ya, I can surelly put 25 pounds in 3 months. But not 25 pounds of muscle. Not even 10.

wow ment for difrent vid lol some like 13 year old kid sayd is 14 year old friend can deadlift 700 pounds and he wont give up on his lie
mike159753x 3 years ago
who the fuck is your friend deadlift 700lb? that shits like ronnie coleman tell him to get his ass in mr olympia... oh ya thats right your friends not real..
mike159753x 3 years ago
And this relates to the video, how?
Uberlaser 3 years ago
almost 700 for maximum..not for repitions.. and for your information hes almost 19. i will get it on video in the summer.
Jda4160 3 years ago
So scientific lol.
If you wanna get bigger you have to add more protein. ALso have to add more carbs. If you eat 3,000 calories a day and weigh 185, you need to eat MORE than that to get bigger. 30/45/25 are good macronutrient ratios.
zztoproadster 3 years ago
now im a bit confused..do genetics play a vital role in muscle building? if not, then how the hell did my friend gain 80 pounds in a little short of 2 years? im sure he gained a little fat but he can do almost a 700lb deadlift..he did take creatine for a while and eats a shit load
Jda4160 3 years ago
no, he can't deadlift that much. if he's telling you that he can, he's lying.
Trevorthekid 3 years ago
i'll get it on video soon. that is almost his max deadlift and hes almost 19. i swear to god..he weighs 275 now.
Jda4160 3 years ago
lots of healthy calories plus consistant strenuous muscle work equals muscle/weight gain.
ZACHARRYTHOMAS 3 years ago
Hang on so the concept of what he is saying is eat what you want but go to the gym, that makes no sense whatsoever so lets take it to the extreme e.g. eat 1 bit of celery and go to the gym: well that supplies no energy to give the intensity he talks about in the gym, whilst, on the other hand eatin 20 burgers a day supplies the wrong sort of carbs and you will just put on masses of fat. What he says provides no common sense at all. Anyway just adding my opinion.
2k7nafe2k7 3 years ago
I think Steve means "do anaerobic workouts" instead of "going to the gym". Ofcourse you can do all the work at home as long as you have the equipment and knowledge. I'm sure Steve agrees.
SinisterSkip 3 years ago
You don't HAVE to go to the friggin Gym. You can get great gains at home with some decent dumbells.
nikovich 3 years ago
That's right! Gym doesn't teach you anything... Sport is the solution. Swimming for example. Gym is only additional and not even necessary
gomenaros 3 years ago
u would be constantly buying more plates since u will lift more and more weight..beside human body adapts to sertain exercice making them inefective after a certain period and since dumbell is all u have u cant vary..also how do u workout back with dumbells?
Blazerelf 3 years ago 2
so if you are working out really hard, do you still have to consume more food to gain the muscle. or can you eat the same amount of food but just workout
Daytonkid11 3 years ago

Hitting the gym does stimulate growth, it is essential, but don't overlook proper eating and rest!
jestes7 4 years ago
There are PLENTY of foods you can eat to help you become skinnier. Damn, when you blow it, you REALLY blow it!
You burn more calories eating celery than you get from it. A citrus aurentium fruit contains synephrine, a natural fat burner. Some foods contain HCA - hydroxy citric acid, which is a natural carb burner. Then there are foods that fill your stomach without providing significant calories. You really need to study more Steve.
KaseyAkira 4 years ago
I notice a lot of people posting stupid comments are over the age of 16 and that's really depressing, It's common sense, if you want to add more weight you just eat more, ok simple. and then he adds the important info about gaining MUSCLE weight, yes the only way you can do that is to ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Continue
usdevildoggmc 4 years ago
I'm pretty sure tofu helped me gain muscle a little faster. It contains a substance similar to estrogen. A natural steroid perhaps. It's also extremely convenient. I think people who are naturally very relaxed and have high testosterone levels simply don't get what some others experience. If I ate whatever and worked out intensely I wouldn't heal as quickly and couldn't maintain my schedule.
sickuglyloser 4 years ago
im sorry buddy but ur info is not gud, if u wana add 5 or ten pounds eat more of the food u like... what kinda advice is that! u eat carbs and do no workout if u wana put on weight or eat deep fried food with carbs...what if sum1's fav food was salad, dont giv advice if u talk shite

ok i've seen some of your videos and they seem to make good sense and are really good, but how can i put on muscle body weight but lose body fat at the same time in order to see my abs for example whilst developing a heavier muscular body?
thprest02 4 years ago
there are so many ways to work out and get bigger and so on like this gym tells, but... what worked for me was pushing the heavy weights that you normaly do but doing more reps... kinda like cardio in pushing weighs.
EG: regular bench 3 sets-70kg x 12;80kg x 10; 90kg x 8
what helped me was 6 sets 50kg x 15; 60kg x 15; 70kg x 12; 75kg x 10; 80kg x 10( im shitting my self by this point)85kg x 8-10 hits.
so you could drop the weighs a little and throw more sets into it.
cheers mate

Yea people , go to the gym to put on muscle . This was the secret for all these years and I did not know . Well I don't want to go to the gym ,I want to swim. That will not make me loo great though.

I've been skinny all my life. I'm 6'3" 152lbs. I'm trying to gain weight...it's kinda frustrating because I don't see much improvement. Any advice? I've always had a healthy appitite and can eat and eat and eat...but it's like i burn it off even if i just sleep all day. What's my problem??
Chriscjs 5 years ago
Menkema has the right idea about eating and lifting. Gaining a small amount of fat is OK but what we really want to gain is muscle so lifing consistently will be important.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
Um i think ill go with the theory that, IF i want to SHAPE my shoulders? or GROW my pecs? ill take MY chance with "CHALLENGING" My individual muscles thru "gym workouts". As opposed to relying on my food to fullfill these goals.. Put it this way? aynt work yet Lmao

But can I eat over my full point, work out and then put up muscle faster? Even if I'll eat at MCdonals?
Bohemists 5 years ago
Yes. As long as you workout hard (also cardio) and burn those calories off. Good or bad, if you burn the calories off, they won't make you fat.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
While fast foods aren't the healthiest, there is still some food value. I wouldn't make eating them a habit. Remember, it's working out, not food, that gives you muscles.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
actually, food is what gives your body the nutrients to make muscle. you cant build muscle if you dont eat. im sure what you meant to say was "to maximize muscle growth you need to stimulate your muscles by working out, along with eating a diet rich in proteins and carbs to promote repair of your muscles.
rugbyking01 5 years ago
I said what I meant to say. There is no food that will speed muscle growth or recovery faster than its normal metabolic rate.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
I guess you can drive a car without fuel too right?
deftone 5 years ago
thats true, but what you said was "its working out, NOT FOOD, that gives you muscles." you make it sound like food is the least important part towards muscle growth when really it is probably THE MOST IMPORTANT idea to grasp.
rugbyking01 5 years ago
You can eat healthy and it will not put one ounce of muscle on you. You can lift, have a poor diet (although not ideal) and still make muscle.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
Oh really, so I can eat a diet of fat and carbs only and make muscle? Do the amino acids just magically appear then?
iflturd2 5 years ago
Here's why. Contrary to popular beliefs and bodybuilding magazines, you don't need that much daily protein to build or maintain muscle. And that protein is easily supplied in the foods you eat without needed a special diet.
BodyPerformanceTV 5 years ago
Yes, this is correct. Amino acids do in fact appear, using only magic.
oneminutetomidnight 4 years ago
If your after mucle you need to lift weights and/or exercise, you can't make mucle by not doing that.
Eating good foods help by adding extra mucle onto your body, but you have to do something to get that mucle on your body in the first place.
