Ok.. it is 12:34 am and I need some sleep. I just can't quit hitting the PLAY button! The Lord in his wisdom has all these little things play out exactly and his "mysteries" revealed at the appropriate times. It is never a "BIG" thing that he gives to validate his teachings. Heck.. he could just split cumorah wide open and reveal it all...treasures and artifacts unearthing themselves and proving to the world in one foul swoop.. but no.. colophon is the 1st thing to start us off. :-)

Actaully MrNirom, you make a very important and valuable point, a PRISTINE point! The beginning of wisdom concerning the BofM is NOT archaeology, but the actual BofM text itself. If we first know what the text says and means, then we can add from there, to our store of knowledge.

The Hill Cumorah (according to "LDS scripture" and "the prophet Joseph Smith") was the site of a massive battle where massive numbers of men were killed. The "mormon Church" owns this land. Why don't they excavate it and bring forth the DNA and archeological evidence. You always say "just because we have not found it doesn't mean its not there" Why not? Because its all a fairy tale, and "the church" knows it.
