The part she calls the "stem" is the shank. "Stem" is another word for the mouthpiece. The proximal end of the mouthpiece is the bit. At the very end of the bit is the lip. The wooden part of the pipe is called the "stummel."
@magemager0 I would say no, you don't inhale so its not damaging your lungs, and if your only doing it once or twice a month you should be very safe. Just don't get the cheap tobacco from a small generic shop, its loaded with chemicals!
@PERRONmedia I'm actually looking for natural of organic tobacco if such a thing exists. I don't want to worry about unnecessary toxins in the tobacco.
@magemager0 you should look into Surf Monkey Coconut's all organic tobacco seeds and plants. He also has a deal with folks in eastern Washington state that are growers of his seeds. You could probably find out who they are and if they sell the tobacco they produce. I bought 500 virginia tobacco seeds from him for 2.47 a couple weeks ago and it was well worth it. Starting them tomorrow, all organic seeds.
My oldest (and still going) pipe is a Kapp & Peterson which is over 40 years old is on its last legs. It cost me £2/10s. I smoke Grousemoor & Cob Plug which I blend myself. Someday I may aspire to an expensive pipe - I reckon I will have to await to win the lottery!! All my pipes are by K&P.
I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly can see and feel the difference. I work in a pipe/cigar shop and own several Dunhills. Each one smokes different, and the quality is very apparent when you are smoking it. All pipes smoke a bit different, I own ser jacapos, castellos, savinellis, stanwells, and even a few custom made ones. I can't promise that dunhills smoke the best, just different. They are almost always superior in quality, and you do get what you pay for.
Aaah I used to smoke a pipe! Maan, waking up first thing in the morning and baaaam, hello mr nicotine. I'd have been dead before 30 if I'd kept that up.
wtf now everything thats not computer controlled is "handcrafted"?

magemager0 4 weeks ago
@magemager0 No i should not.
Eliaas123 3 weeks ago

What statement? These pipes are part of a lost age. People who smoke pipes are either dying soon or are hipsters lol

As a pipe smoker for over 45 years I have a question. Does the tobacco and smoke taste different in an expensive pipe, such as a Dunhill!
Or does a person who pays big money for a pipe sense or taste the difference.
goinghomesomeday1 9 months ago
Best pipe in the world but tobacco will still kill you in a cheap one or a high dollar one.
dickmartn 9 months ago
That's not just any pipe.... That's a Dunhill.
Starting at $450 and going for as much as $30,000. Best pipes in the world.

And when do they drill the second part of the wood? They say they put a hole as a marker, but never show it being drilled out?

There seems to be an audio problem. The music went fine though, which didn't really help at all.
