Medicare services whose reimbursement rates are below hospital actuall cost , those shortages are also picked up by private sector. I just learned today in Texas, living under republicon leadership, we rank 39th in healthcare up from 40th a year ago. 1 out of every 4 people in my state do not have healthcare and 1 out of every 4 childrein are living in poverty. There is a $100 a DAY fine for employers who don't (even if they are small bus. and can't afford it) provide coverage to their employees 9pg. 297 line 21 through 299 line 15. It also has limits to care and services per yr. who am I supposed to take my claims denials to when the fed. gov denies my claims. I just found out I have Lupus what if my testing needs exceed the gov mandated limits?! Thanks a lot people.

Wow, everyone I know uses the Post Office. It is by far cheaper than UPS or FedEx. If you want a better guarantee or a faster service you go with UPS or FedEx. How is that in any way a comparison to health care?

Most insurance companies are on the stock market; as such they report their earning under federal regulations. More importantly they are monitored and audited by our federal government.
So yes, I believe the insurance companies earned an average of 2.5% profit last year.

(1) Get rid of pre-existing conditions as a factor for insurance companies to deny care, and (2) allow those that currently do not have health care insurance, who cannot afford to buy it, have access to a public plan. 2)number of people who don't have health insurance because they can't afford it negligible. 47 million that don't have health insurance most are young (don't need it), or make over $50,000 a year (can afford it), or are illegal aliens (not relevant), or already qualify for medicaid but haven't signed up.

People aren't arguing the we shouldn't take care of the sick. People are arguing that they feel the public sector can do it better. People are weary of the government and how it handles the post office, the dmv, and the veterans hospitals. Every medicaid patient with free care that over utilizes hospitals and doctor those cost are also passed on to private call. Medicare services whose reimbursement rates are below hospital actuall cost , those shortages are also picked up by private sector. We need a median and competition to lower prices and the only way is a true free market system. Get the Government out of healthcare. These bills ensure income will go down 20% over the next ten years.

The military IS the best run program, they have a purpose, it is not a PC charity like DMV, Dept Tranp., Public Works etc, they are complete failures. All are subsidised, yes they arent sustainable on their own, without Govt funding with taxpayer money, they are bankrupt, like this country is. you cant always have your hand out, it will destroy this country, whats left? If I wanted to live in EU, I'd move!

Anybody with 7 braincells knows we need reforms, anybody with 9 braincells knows you don't trash the entire system and bury us with irreversible debt so that our savior can save face. He wants a bill to sign, let him go to Mortons. This is not only farcical, but incredibly dangerous and we can not sustain this kind of spending. Just yesterday, Govt panel states breast cancer screening shouldnt start until 50, mamgrams are unnecessary. The rationing has begun. Girls, do we really want this?

Think about it, if you were the Chinese government and were owed trillions of dollars, . . . would you tell Obama he could borrow another trillion more and deflate the dollars he already borrowed from you? To "TheGraceofChrist," you have to realize how ironic your name really is. 1. You already have limits, look at your health insurance policy. 2. The public option doesn't have lifetime limits. 3. You can afford because there are subsidies for people who can't. 5. The small businesses who don't provide it are just lazy because, again, there are subsidies if they can't afford it. You don't think they thought of all of that when they drafted it?

Actually, my dad has terminal Barretts esoph, which developed from mis diagnosis by the VA. TheVA is as flawed as the Native American plan, whom I also happen to have first hand knowledge of. This is a poor arguement, as they don't pay attention to detail they give you cheap, basic, managed care. Don't tell me about who loves what, as actual experience dictates, it sucks big and it will get worse. Dont listen to the news, talk to participants in the program. You just might learn something real.

My name isn't up for discussion I'd appreciate if you stick to the point...that I will be forced on the gov. plan if ANY change is made to my policy?! Isn't that MY RIGHT to decide! pgs 91 and 92, it's in black and white, can't be disputed. If this was really about "reform" the gov. would enact laws to penalize ins.companies that engage in unethical practices and would increase eligibility to Medicade a system already in place that we know works.

Yeah, it's be great if how it worked as it stands under HR3962, individuals who dont comply & purchase ins. will be TAXED/FINED 2.5% of their income paid 2 the IRS, an estimated $1,800 per person! & the gov plan premium is higher than the fine. How am I supposed 2 be able 2 afford that?! On pgs. 91 & 92 ANY changes 2 your current plan & you are mandated 2 take the gov. plan. So when even a minor change is made 2 my $6 mill max benefits plan I have 2 go 2 the gov. plan?! Where's MY choice?!

The individual fine is on pg 303 lines 18-21. People REALLY should read this. There is a $100 a DAY fine for employers who don't (even if they are small bus. and can't afford it) provide coverage to their employees 9pg. 297 line 21 through 299 line 15. It also has limits to care and services per yr. who am I supposed to take my claims denials to when the fed. gov denies my claims. I just found out I have Lupus what if my testing needs exceed the gov mandated limits?! Thanks a lot people.

It is in black and white AND your missing one of the points I made. the plan I want and have now provides excellent coverage and I can go to any clinic in the U.S. with it. Read pg. 91 and 92 of the bill. ANY change to my existing policy ANY CHANGE and I have to take the gov. plan...where's my freedom of choice!? Shame on you! Read the pages I quoted and stand up for your fellow American's right to choose!
