  • yeah i remember this whole movie seen it like 5 times in 1984...everyweekend it stayed at theater..ohhh gosh dam that has been awhileeee ago...i am getting old..ughhhhh

  • When I was 8, I took a picture of the tv screen when the ghost was reading the book and sent it to my mom to say it was in our basement.. When she got it, (In work), she got scared and showed it to some of her friends to creep them out too. Lol.

  • "Stop that!"

  • lol scene made me rolf and made me jump out of my chair xD when i was like 8

  • I remember going to see this in 1984 when it first came out...loved it. still do. wish they could have made more.

  • That was your plan? Get Her?

  • I can't decide whether this scene is terrifying or hilarious.

  • man i miss the 80's, movies, cartoons, saturday morning cartoon, tv, sports, music, no money but at the same time no bills lol

  • Classic scene! I love it!

  • This scared me to death when I was little. When I watch it now, I just laugh.

  • Looking forward for the re release in the Cinema for Halloween of this movie. I saw it the first time round in the 80's and it was outstanding on the big screen.

  • that old lady's like: FUCK YOU I'M TRYING TO READ!

  • Get her! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Classic scene. I love the part where the ghost gets all menacing and screams to scare them away.

  • I know EXACTLY what to do!

  • Ray: GET HER!

    Ghost: RYAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Egon, Peter, Ray: AHHHHHHHH! (all run)

Guess you shouldnt try and grab a ghost

  • @mewtoo007 How can you? your hands would go straight through them anyway! XD

  • my favorite part is 0:30

  • Stop That! at 0:32 thats funny

  • "So, where are you from....originally?"

    "Shhhhhhhhhh!"

  • What is it that Peter knocks out of Egon's hands?

  • O.k. First, I love this scene. Too sweet. And secondly, how can someone like Peter be a parapsychologist? He's the type that wouldn't believe in this stuff. Very ironic.

  • GET HER!

  • the librarian ghost found this vid and clicked the like button 78 times

  • 1:20

    Get her!!!

  • 0:30 Stop that

  • This is the the one scene that had the most frigtening impact on me of my entire life. I was 7 when I saw this, and had never seen a scary movie before. I had nightmares for weeks. No movie has ever scared me like this since. I chuckle at those memories now :)

  • Same thing happened to me last Tuesday. And the Tuesday before that, and the Tuesday before that.....

Wait. Maybe I should STOP going to that library.

  • STOP THAT!

  • 0:31

  • @GuitarSG89 So violent XD

  • @GuitarSG89 ROFL

  • If thats the scariest they got there out of there minds lol

  • To be honest...this is surely more frightening than new horror movies. And this was made in the early 80's. Impressive, for sure! ;)

  • @pajon82 yeah, today's movies are all about girls with big tits screaming and getting bludgeoned to death but the older movies had more class.

  • I love the bit when Venkman hits the calculator out of Egon's hand. It's such a great little side moment. Movies don't have that stuff anymore.

  • LOL! Funny! :)

  • you better be quiet

  • The way Egon runs at the end...epic!

  • loooooooooooolz!!! It must have been ages since the last time i saw this scene :D however it still looked funny to me when i was a kid ... hahahahaha!!!!!

  • Classic movie, great acting, great effects. I am glad i was there to whitness this movie when it came out. :-)

  • It's like playing "Luigi's Mansion" lol

The ghost looks human and then everything starts to get quiet.

  • @TheSoulSearcher1 Very simple, it's basic addiction. Not very different than smoking or drinking , because all of these addictions lead to car accidents. But texting is far worse than any drug, because it is acceptable and frowned upon is you choose to "just say no" to it and it is given to children without any guidelines or addiction warnings. Also too many people are afraid to give it up for fear of loss of a false sense of connectedness but meanwhile it will not allow your mind to rest.

  • I would love to do what Bill Murry does to the calculator to every person I see here in New York texting too much , you know the kind of people that walk into busy streets while texting and seem to block out he whole world because they are so wrapped up in insignificant messages. Anyone else like the idea ?

  • "STOP THAT!"

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA þis is so funny movie

  • Aw, man, I've been in that library... at night... fuck that place. It's the underground portion of USC's Doheny Library, by the way.

  • i remembered the wind effect that keeps blowing their hair all the time..that was really cool and intense...

  • I love how they look when they run backwards. FRIGGEN HILARIOUS!

  • haha i luv it when she flys at the screen

  • In the new Ghostbusters game, there is a mission where it tells the story of the "Grey Lady"...Her name is Oliver Twitty I believe.

  • @Trea2030 her name is not oliver it's eleanor

  • yes this was the scene where i made audiences jump out of thier

skins when it was premiered at cinemas in 84 but i only seen it

on vhs when it was released and on tv every boxing day but

this scene give me the heebie geebies everytime i watched it.

  • THIS SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME WHEN I WAS A KID LOL!!!!!

  • @Trea2030 Got me jumping outta my seat too when I seen it in the theater!

  • @Trea2030 - Apparently, the ghost they originally wanted to use in the library scene was 10x scarier than this, but the studio ordered them to tone it down... I think I was terrified enough as it was by THIS ghost!

  • @Trea2030 me too, me too..

  • I hope they got a sample for Egon

  • GET HER!

  • This scene used to freak me out. Now I just laugh at it cause its done on a joke. Which it works very well. And plus Ghostbusters rules!

  • lmao, i remember the first time i saw this clip. it FREAKED me OUT. i had the volume up and i was wearing headphones, i jumped back, and i couldn't figure out how to make it shut up. i have no idea why i flipped out.

  • @onlypandorashope i had the exact same reaction. But I was in a cinema.

I am still ashamed, after all these years.

  • @dabogirl hahaha! i hope you weren't the only one that did that in that movie theater. it feels good to know that i'm not alone. =D

  • @dabogirl hahaha! i hope you weren't the only one that did that in that movie theater. it feels good to know that i'm not alone. =D

they are both really funny! (C:

  • Freaky ghost and well seroiusly their plan"sneak up on her,get her,get scared and run away"wow what a plan.

  • Do you know that this scene was inspired by the haunting of Williams Hall at Illinois State University?

  • @laurrrren

No, I hadn't heard of that one. Did they ever try to "get her?" :D

  • @KISSPhace Haha no, but you have to get permission from the University President to go to the place that is supposedly haunted. Kind of weird.

  • I haven't seen this since it came out...originally. Thanks ImprovEverywhere

  • @milliradian you WHAT? it's been out for how long now? lol.

  • HAHAHAHA THAS SOME FUNNY SHT

  • shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhs

  • That was you plan? Get her?

    Classic.

  • @RevLink LMAO!

  • @RevLink hehe, I agree

  • @RevLink Or in German:

Das war dein Plan? Schnappt sie euch?

    Really funny!

  • Venkman: So what do we do?

    Egon & Ray: .........

Me: Egon and Ray have nothing to say...?! That's... a really bad signal...

The way that Peter knocks Egon's calculator (Or W/E it was) reveals he was extremely tense. I was really expecting the scene where they run away from the library, with the Piano background music.

    Still, Thanks for the video.
