After hearing this stunning and moving presentation, the uncorrupted minds of a fourth grade class in the gallery observing the action, were literally dumbfounded to have witnessed a majority of Democrats vote AGAINST Articles 31 & 32 in the NH Bill of Rights to be mechanized in the House Rules. It just didn't make sense to them. The Office of Legislative Services fought tooth and nail against it too. The courts don't want this because then they will be accountable to the people.
It's a great point: OLS should be eliminated. Legislators should write and introduce their own bills, which should then be debated and/or amended on the floor of the House.
Keep the bureaucrats (like OLS) out of it. OLS is more efficient, but efficient government is dangerous. I want every possible roadblock in the way of additional legislation.
The killed the bill, but the issue is not dead. Itse worked with Legislative Services. They will take Bills for Redress of Grievance, even without passage of this bill.
Plus, it was a Roll Call vote... it will be on the NHLA Liberty Index :)
