The worst part was I was actually 10 years old when my father past away, people pitied me, but I pitied my father. That always confused me. When I hear those bells ring in the beginning I feel like my father's listening with me, it's eerie. He was a truck driver and long hauls was the only thing we shared. This past september 15th made a 10 year anniversary for my father dieing. It didn't really hit me untill a few days later though, that this companion, buddy, pal, confidant, father had not breathed another breathe in 10 years, walked down the streets he normally walked in 10 years, eaten at my kitchen table in 10 years. I haven't seen my best friend and closest person to me in a DECADE. I pity him for not having the privilege I have of living life everyday I guess I still mourn him till this day

I'm a musician, and this song is inspiring to me in so many ways. Not only is it incredible musically and structurally, but the lyrics are incredible. Not just for a musician but for any one with a dream or a willingness to live life and not just exist. So many of my friends simply exist, wasting the days. This song reminds to never waste a moment and always be improving my self and having fun doing it. I don't want to be 40 saying "what if" or "I should have..."

I don't have to be a celebrity, and I don't want to. I want to do something to benefit society. I feel like I should build homeless shelters. This song came on when I saw a homeless guy near the highway, and I could see how this relates to them, and life. You need to enjoy life, but be productive while you enjoy it.
