  • Could you make the cam a bit steady on your other videos. Peace

  • 512 graphics cards??? Wow, usually computers only have one :D

  • I don't have any idea of how to use the all the touch-pad functions... can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Im stuck between choosing this or a hp pavillion dm1. which is better?

  • I wish there was a 15" version of this laptop

  • you guys think that the display is really too glossy and annoying?

  • Does anyone else think this kid is hilarious? He had me dying throughout the entire video.

  • Just disable the wireless adapter

  • Bro sorry but there is a button to turn the wifi off.it's fn + f9...Sorry again bro thx for the effort but you have no idea what this pc does...

  • Bro sorry but there is a button to turn the wifi off.it's fn + f9..

  • I got this yesterday and I don't have complains so far..Gaming is good enough for me (Assassins Creed & Left4Dead2), no obvious lags or other problems..Basic applications like MS Word and Corel Video Studio Pro X4 work great, sound is fine, keyboard is comfortable and the touchpad is relatively easy to use because it is huge and it supports multitouch which allows me to use gestures, etc..The only thing I don't like is the fact that it looks like a Mac under the lid..Anyway, I still love it..

  • there is a button for wifi but it does turn on autmatically. at the top left there is a button

  • Would this laptop work for...

    -Watching HD YouTube videos

    -School work (online curriculum's)

    also Typing Reports (Microsoft Word)

-Light gaming such as Bloons TD4 or Roller coaster Tycoon (MAXIMUM would be CoD:4 on the lowest possible graphics settings without lag)

    -Long Car Trips

-Uploading and editing HD videos because I may get an HD Capture Card to record gameplays of Call of Duty and other FPS's on my Xbox 360 with clarity and quality.

    -Etc.

    Thanks!

  • Take all of those stickers off of the keyboard area. It will look so much better! That is the first thing I do when I buy a PC.

  • is it really thin? lol

  • is the cam 0.3 mg or 2.0 mgpix?

  • Can you post the Windows Experience Index numbers? I can see the 4.3 overall in your video, but I'd like to see the details. Thanks!

  • how do u turn the camera on

  • I also dont understand why you DONT USE THE LAPTOP!!!! You have a seperate screen, seperate keyboard, and seperate mouse...

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTaco864 That's because I dock it at home like this, on the run I use the laptop only.

  • 3:38 "Havent really used it...OH SHIT IT DOES!!!!"

On the the other hand great review man gettin this laptop in about 3 weeks it really helped.

  • Thanks for the review! This looks like the laptop I'm going to be getting!

By that way, I actually LAUGHED OUT LOUD when you found out your laptop had multi touch... "OH SHIT, IT DOES!"

I had to watch that part 3 times! Amazing!

  • is the touchpad easy to use?

    do you have charging issues?

  • @doverbeach714 The touchpad is hard to get used to, even today I have problems using it. Mostly it's a huge touchpad that reacts to everything but since it didn't come with directions on how to use it I'm lost. I haven't had charging issues, at all are you?

  • @therealxxtubbyxx

hmm that's not good about the touchpad.

i'm thinking about buying this. either this or envy 14, and this is obviously cheaper.

    thanks for the review!

  • @doverbeach714 samsung needs to have buttons as a touchpad but luckily i have a USB mouse you can buy for about 10 bucks

  • @doverbeach714 the touchpad is great..multitouch allows for easier and more convenient use..It's huge and there are instances when i swipe my finger only once to get the cursor from one corner to another..it's sensitive but not ultimately to the point that it reacts to everything

  • my laptop has a 4.4 windows experience rating and i have a core 2 duo 7200 ati x1700 and 2 gb of ram, how's that possible, what's the lowest subscore?

  • @pierronry To tell you truth I never understood the way Microsoft rates Windows computers, it's like those things people unless they are "IN" would ever understand, like stocks.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Is this a good computer?

  • ahh thats a goodlooking laptop! I had Samsung R780 the red one its so cool. Samsung laptop are great.

  • At CNET they say that the resolution sucks and therefore you cannot watch movies properly..what is your experience?

  • Does it have bluetooth?

  • How well do you think this would run a game such as world of warcraft with decent graphics settings? And can this run youtube videos in 1080p smoothly?

  • is a good gaming computer?

  • @gamerfreak082 yes it has GT 330m like I do I had video up playing black ops.

  • How's the battery life?

  • @HelluvaHorizon Really good about 7 hours of doing nothing but surfing the net and listening to music.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx You convinced me. I got it on Amazon a few mins ago :)

  • @therealxxtubbyxx What power setting?

  • can u play minesweeper on that laptop ?

  • @andeng567567 Yes on extreme mega hyper HD graphics. LOL

  • Sounds like you had a HP before. I can't wait to get rid of my HP!

  • @abbyappliances I did, those things get super outdated fast.

  • Do you think this laptop can run Flight Simulator X?

  • @damiantymkiw I'm sure it can.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Thanks

  • @damiantymkiw Thanks

  • lol i wish i was ur gf XD

  • @zabakkabou Can you bake pies?

  • Hi guys, I just spoke with Samsung technical support regarding video flickering problem in full screen, they just release a Firmware (Bios) update which fix this problem (update version 1.0.0.1, release date 01/12/2010. Try and let me know if the problem is solved.

    Thanks

  • @AkopianGegham Can you link us?

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Go to the samsung.com type in search QX410 and click on Firmware you will see it.

  • New firmware doesn’t work…The YouTube taskbar flickers when videos are played in full screen mode, my friend has one too he has the same problem.... I have all latest drivers for video, I have the latest BIOS. It’s only flicker in areas where the video is playing so if I'm watching 4:3 video the seekbar looks fine in the unused black areas. I've tried Hulu, Cnet, YouTube on IE / Firefox and get the same problem. I went back to the store and noticed the floor model did the same thing...

  • @AkopianGegham I fixed it with right clicking in a flash video going to "settings" and disabling hardware acceleration.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Thanks a lot ! it's worked for me.

  • This or macbook pro?

  • @Golzinbaf Depends on what you are looking for, price and speed or brand name and price.

  • Comment removed

  • I bought this laptop at black friday and it wipes the floor with mac book pro 17 and 13 inch btw which are both over 1000 doller laptops any way THIS Is the best laptop ever EVER also it runs great games without a sweat on full graphics its great for gaming this thing is a beast with a chillie up its ass turbo boost goes to 2.8 fastest laptop i highly recamend it HIGHLY !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Droid5767 I'm glad you are enjoying this.

  • which games were you running that were really fast (besides LOTR) because i cant get nba 2k11 to play smoothly, its kind of choppy and its on low fps like 15-25

  • So... Asus U35, Samsung QX410 or Toshiba R630? I can't decide...

  • ops NVM. its 799.99 now at best buy :P

  • got this laptop from bestbuy with black friday sale '699'. Im pretty sure its still on sale. so if anyone wants to get it, THIS IS THE TIME! :D

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Hey, i got this laptop awhile back and i was wondering whether it takes your comp like 2 secs for some videos to go full screen. It sometimes does that to me. Which, i must is pretty weird, given how powerful this laptop is (i5 processor).

  • ohhh nvm, found what you said before.

  • How's the battery life? I bought a macbook pro on black friday...and might regret it...

  • I bought mine for 1 622.98 USD, but it's a 510 not a 410. I were thinking about a M15x, but I changed my mind. :)

  • Hi. I just got this QX410 last night from futureshop for a stupid price. STUPID. I knew this laptop was good looking but the more I dig and the more I review I am glad that my choice rocks. I was curious how do you manually turn on the camera? As well what will you use to clean the screen if you were to smudge it? PS I paid $600CAD lol stupid i know.

  • @ardordaddy Go to Start, all programs and scroll down. There should be a folder that says something "Cam". You can drag it out so you can just click on it when you need it. That's how I got it to work at Best Buy and it works great.

  • Hey awesome video man. This laptop is what I've been looking for for a long time. A macbook pro look alike with better specs and no apple tax(overpricing). I just have one question that requires an honest opinion. Do you see this laptop lasting a solid 5 years of use(web,Open Office, maybe cs5, no gaming)? I don't work, im in college and dropping $699+ tax is a gonna be a BIG commitment for me. Let me know what you think

  • @BlackWaterAgent I honestly believe it will stay strong past the five year mark, this little laptop is pretty powerful for the cost. I don't do gaming but I tried a few games on this and they ran fine, I'm also using Sony Vegas and Photoshop and so far it has ran without a hiccup. I needed a laptop to edit raw MP4's and this has done so far without even breaking a sweat. Consider this a great investment.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx Yeah I think I'm gonna get. I went to best buy earlier and this thing is amazing. The track pad caught me off guard but after 10 minutes I got the hang of it, tapping left and right feels better than pressing left and right. The chicklet keyboard feels comfortable and the palm rest is good for my big hands. It handled 1080p like a piece of cake, the cam is good and it's all around down right perfect. I'm making the jump and getting it. Thanks for your input!

  • @therealxxtubbyxx

    dude plz help me

Im looking for a nice looking, portable laptop thats fast

im choosing between THIS laptop and the Hp pavilion dm4.

now im getting the dm4 for 100$ cheeper. dm4 looks better but the qx410 is little bit better machine

WHICH 1 SHOULD I GO WITH????

  • @therealxxtubbyxx have the same laptop it will last a long time very fast and easy to use but pretty bad for gaming

  • @BlackWaterAgent i got mine yesterday... black friday deal, i5 laptop 640GB for only 699!!!!!!!!!!!!! sooo worth it.

  • I bought the Samsung QX410 laptop from Best Buy this past friday. Everything seems to work fine except for one issue. Whenever I switch a video to full screen, the seekbar, the video controls, and any logos all flicker while the video is playing. It seems to only flicker in areas where the video is playing so if I'm watching a 4:3 video the seekbar looks fine in the unused black areas. I've tried Hulu, Cnet, and YouTube on IE and Firefox and get the same problem. Do you have the same problem?

  • @AkopianGegham I didn't buy the laptop because by the time I was gonna look at the specs online again I saw that it went up to $799. So I'm holding off until they lower the price again or get the Asus u52f laptop. But based on my test run at bestbuy when I played a video in 1080p in full screen from youtube I noticed a constant flicker in the bottom center of the video. Idk if its widespread so maybe therealxxtubbyxx can let you know first hand since he owns one.

  • @BlackWaterAgent Look at the answer I gave @akopiangegham I had the same problem.

  • @AkopianGegham Yeah, I had the same problem, Here's the situation your video card is trying to take over for fullscreen videos. What you do is you right click in like this Youtube video, and go to "settings" and uncheck "use hardware acceleration" or something along those lines. Restart your computer and your full screen flash video should work. It all has to do with the graphics card and the internal motherboard graphics card, this should rectify the problem.

  • hi! i just bought this laptop today because it went on sale in future shop. it was a really good deal. i was wondering whether you know how i can connect my laptop to my bluetooth mouse. it doesn't seem to be detecting anything of mine. any ideas?? do i need to download a drive? please help! thanks a bunch.

  • @chrmntuet What kind of mouse was it the brand name?

  • how is the cooling? I heard that CPU is overheating when on load, is it true?

  • @wrangleroooo I haven't had any overheating problems yet, I will notify you guys over a video if I have any laptop problems so far so good.

  • Just picked this up today, keyboard is going to take some getting used too but apart from that its a great lappy!

  • @AmritBanks Yeah, the keyboard and the mouse pad are freaking weird.

  • Hmm it's actually pretty cheap. There's one on eBay selling for $650 brand new. Samsung notebooks are rare among the US.

  • whats the webcam resolution?

  • @TheMopolopo96 I have no idea, but I will check for you.

  • Hello. Thanks a lot for review. I got 2 questions:

    1. What can you say about display quality?

    2. Can you check, what wireless card is in it?

  • @xQWERTIKx I'm at work right now but I will get you that info as soon as I get home.

  • i have a quick question for you, i just picked one up myself and was changing my power settings and i can't change the options of what closing the lid or pressing the power button does, they are grayed out on sleep. i was just wondering if yours is the same?

  • @otto21matic It's really weird this computer has both hybrid sleep and sleep but lacks "Hibernation". This is because this computer is one of the newest to carry a "USB CHARGING" option on the far left second port, if turned on via the BIOS, basically this means when the computer is in sleep mode it charges any USB connected device. I'm guessing Samsung removed Hibernation from this computer, for this reason. I hope this helps.

  • @otto21matic Actually I found out what it was! Go to the Samsung folder and you will see a Power Option or something like that if you disable the setting you get back your hibernation and all that other stuff.

  • @otto21matic Yeah man, mine is exactly the same! And all you have to do is click the Start Button (Bottom Left). Navigate to the Samsung folder and click it. Then navigate to the Fast Start folder and click it. Click Fast Start, and when the application opens, disable Fast Start, Apply, and click OK. Other options other than just sleep will now be available in the advanced power options.

  • @EverybodyHatesToby Dude, thanks so much for this!

  • @therealxxtubbyxx No problem man!

  • @therealxxtubbyxx thank you so much!

  • dude, do you recommend me this or a macbook pro 13 (im not a gamer)?

and hows the touchpad and the bottons, are they similar to a MBPs?

hows the sound? and does it get scratches/fingerprints easily?

    thanks!

  • @TheMopolopo96 I would reccomend this if you are looking into a midrange laptop and don't have enough for Macbook, if you can afford a Macbook get it and install Windows on it. The touchpad is great, however not alot of browsers or the o.s support much multitouch which MacOSX does natively. Sound is great it's loud and has equalizer options so you can set up to your liking. It's like a stainless steel design so there its not fingerprint prone. Hope I helped!

  • Hey I have this laptop too..picked it up from futureshop in Canada for $899. Just wondering how long does the battery last for you? they advertise 7 hours - but I can't seem to get above 5.5 at the very most, usually not more than 4.5. please lemme know. the onlny way I could see 7 hours is with the backlight turned off on the screen, which is useless without an external monitor. also, you can turn wifi off and on with Fn+F9.

  • @huffleboy It fluctuates as you do work on it, I got it to go to 7 hours by just surfing the web and listening to music. As soon as I started video editing, it went down to 4 and half hours. I started watching movies and it went to 5 hours. It's kind of dumb because it doesn't give you a solid number. But I average it out to about 4 hours.

  • @huffleboy futureshop raised the price on the laptop for christmas. i wanted it but it is now $999. need to wait for the price to go back down now. do you like the laptop btw??

  • @vinceparkd Oh sucks man. Futureshop is the devil. Best Buy had it for $999 included in a bundle with a digital camera. I'm sure if you wait a few weeks it'll go on sale for the $899. watch the fliers.

  • @vinceparkd I love the laptop btw. I wanted something small and portable but still powerful. It's exactly that. Fav part is how quickly it sleeps/wakes. I'll recommend to use google chrome and install flashblock to help increase battery. also, set almost every program to use the integrated graphics. lemme know if you have any more questions.

  • @huffleboy I was having a problem with VLC player and interlacing it hated using the graphics card. Can you please explain how to set everything up to use integrated graphics?

  • @therealxxtubbyxx You can specify what programs use which graphics card under what conditions. Do this in the nvidia control panel. on the left panel click on the 'manage 3d settings' area. in the main area there are two tabs: global settings and program settings. click on program settings- this is where you can select a program from a list (or add a new one) and specify what card to use.

  • @huffleboy Hey why is the integrated graphics better? Thanks!

  • @vinceparkd Good question. It's not better, but it does get much better battery life. This laptop is great because when you want longer battery life, you can use the integrated intel video card that's on the processor itself, or you can use the nvidia video card that has dedicated memory (a lot of laptops don't have a dedicated video card).. you'll only really want to use the nvidia card tho if you're gaming or working on something that's video or graphics intensive, while you're plugged in.

  • Since the battery is not removable, where do you take it when it needs a new one?

  • @mravn I'm not sure, probably use my insurance or warranty. I'm pretty sure I can open it and remove it, as soon as people get ahold of this laptop and put hacks up. The laptop does have a nice feature where it charges to 86 percent and shuts the battery down so you have it plugged in without messing up your battery.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx

Really? Are you sure of that? I never heard this about this laptop. Can you confirm please (and possibly let me know the source of this info. as well)? Thanks in advance!

  • @yourmurderer1 Confirm what? What was the statement or question?

  • @ookamidigital It's a really fast computer, I ran Lord Of The Rings Online the free download at max settings, I did some steam games and didn't have any problems. The only problem is when you reset the computer or turn it off and on the WIFI sets to automatic even if you turn it off. So when I'm at home on the lan I have to remember to turn off the Wifi.

  • this on black friday!!!!

  • @nepat702 Can you link me to this? I can go for another one.

  • I got two questions for ya...1) What is the resolution on the webcam? and 2) does the laptop get hot? Thanks and nice review.

  • @so1ution I actually don't know the resolution of the camera there's no mention of it on any of the manuals, I wonder if I can find out through Windows. So far it's not that big of a deal camera, however it does a decent job for what it is. Also the laptop doesn't get hot, to the touch or anything.

  • is it a USB external DVD RW drive ???

  • @wingnut4427 Nope, internal DVD-RW drive you can't even tell it has one.

  • @therealxxtubbyxx NICE !!! :D

  • holy crap. that was a triple post!

i am back again just to see the laptop in action again. :P

really liked the review, but you need a camera stand or something to steady it. xD

  • @guyana001 I will use it next video. Woot!

  • You make a nice review. I enjoyed it. The auto overclocking is great.

  • @underpathunderpath It's awesome, I thought I'd hate it, but I ended up enjoying it.

  • woohoo! thanks for the rapid re-upload!

thank you for the review. i'm thinking of getting this laptop myself for christmas as long as there aren't anything better out at the time.

Just curious, but is a 14" screen large enough to enjoy games?

i kinda want a laptop with great battery life, i5 with decent gaming capabilities for university. would you say that this laptop is it?

  • @guyana001 The laptop auto adjusts to what you are doing. Say you are playing on the net and reading emails, it switches to a low power and you get 7 hours of battery. If you are playing games, editing videos, you get 4 and half hours. It's rather smart and nice.

  • @guyana001 Also I thought the screen wouldn't be big enough but I didn't miss my 17 inch, it's also wide-screen so it's a plus. I recommended this laptop if you are not doing anything outside of playing games, surfing the web, or anything strenuous.

  • @guyana001 yes. i was looking at the alienware m11x but got this instead. reg price is about $900 but black friday got amazing deal for $699!!!!
