I learned the tune from the fiddling of Judy Hough, back in the '70s when I played in an Ithaca-based band with her. The banjo "arrangement" is simply how I play it, and is subject to change. :-) I have heard a few other banjo versions, but I rarely listen to other banjo players, as I find it influences my musical thinking. I much prefer to learn tunes from fiddlers!

Nope. I don't (can't) play. Too old to learn! Too young to have enough free time. I just love the ol time stuff.

Unless you are a lot older than I imagine, you probably AREN'T TOO OLD. I took up clawhammer banjo at age 60. I've now been playing for over three years and unless my math skills have completely failed me, I'm now 63. I don't know that I'll ever get super good but that's now why I started playing. It was to have fun and I'm having a BLAST!
