  • Great !

  • Perfection!

  • what album is this off of???

  • Hello Everyone!

It’s Music that’s keeping me alive.

My life is so difficult and the only thing to forget my problems is the Music.

All of you will think I’m crazy but you’re wrong

Because singing and writing I can be who really I am.

I’m so grateful because now I can smile, dreaming, screaming. (And I owe it all to music and to god)

Well, I made some covers and I just upload it to my channel and I’ll be grateful if you stop by my channel and check it out.

    Thank you so much!!

  • Im absolutely loving this tune, great harmonica playing, hes like the Tom Morello of harmonica players, i think he almost took the harmonica to another level in this track.

  • Que sonzera meus camaradinhas!! Zuaram demais!!!

  • BEST HARP PLYER EVER

  • MUCH better than Runaround and Hook.

  • Im late for work, and I dont care. !

  • lol OMG its rufus from the new street fighter~!!!!!

  • Best harp player ? Guy is in his own world :

  • @BluesJoints Man,he didnt hear any other harmonica player other than this one.

  • he may not be the best harmonica player but damn hes good.Love the band keep rocking!!

  • Howard Levy has acknowledged John popper as a supreme technician. No one is better qualified to say! As a harmonica player myself I am in awe of not only his harp playing, but his amazing singing and songwriting. John is a natural talent for sure, and a totally original artist. His harp playing remains original 'cos no one can copy it!

  • i hear a lot of zep in this song as far as the music goes GREAT SONG!!!!

  • You can tell that they were definitely influenced by the oldies/classic-rock/blues-rock/psychedelic music from the 60s-70s here on this song.

Young kids these days have no musicianship and poor fundamentals of rock n roll because they don't appreciate or even know about the oldies and bands like this

  • @jasonemilio That's an absolutely ridiculous assumption. I am only 18 but have been listening to Blues Traveler for 3 years now. I saw them live, and i personally think they are amazing. Some of my friends actually have a band that does covers of a few of their songs, including this one.

If you think that younger people don't listen to that kind of music you are sadly mistaken.

  • @AllenMeetsApocalypse

Did I say every young kids don't listen to the "oldies" and blues influenced bands like BT?

No, but as part of this generation myself, and watching the mainstream public , I can say that most of the kids my age are more enamored with lady gaga/justin bieber, green day and bands like that, etc.; and just because they listen or know a few songs by Led Zeppelin or the Beatles or Marvin Gaye doesn't mean anything in regards to being TRULY influenced by the oldies.

  • @AllenMeetsApocalypse

Case in point: I stopped by Hot Topic once , and one of the employees there asked me what kind of shirt I was interested in. I said mainly classic rock type stuff (I could've just said I as fine and knew what I wanted, but answered it anyways to hear his response) , and he responded: "well, do you like puddle of mud (or something like that)?"

    Yeah.

  • The harmonica player for CLUTCH is good too.

  • @diamondbuyerrt No such animal. Your thinking of the guest harmonica from 5 Hours Johnson. And yes, he's damn good.

  • @diamondbuyerrt No such animal. Your thinking of the guest harmonica from 5 Hours Johnson. And yes, he's damn good.

  • Listening to him on the harmonica is like listening to Jimmy Hendrix.. Absolutely amazing!

  • Awesome, Awesome stuff. This is what needs be around now.

  • Just found this , Man, so gooood

  • he also seems to be able to sing quite well lol

  • im blown away

  • ....found it cuz I searched my name XD.... loser but it brought me to this

  • As a harmonica player who has played out and recorded for 23 years here's my two cents. The assertion that anyone is "the best" anything is absurd, it depends on individual taste. For every person who loves BT, there are three that actively hate them, because they find the harmonica overwhelming and obnoxious. But the assertion that it is all fast scales and effects shows a lack of a musical ear. Popper is a Hendrix, he has permanently changed expectations of what is possible on the instrument

  • @ArturoSkandha and just think had you had the idea of playing outrageously moronic scales that don't exist you would have the money he does. From one player to another ....he beat us to the punch. people don't care if its actual scales or not. what they do care about is its different.

  • @0013mhobbs I disagree. Listen to songs like Believe Me or Go Outside and Drive, or listen to the little filly riffs he's playing behind the bass solo on But Anyway. If you think this is just moronically going up and down scales fast, and not the melodic products of an astounding musical talent, I think you are mistaken. Then, listen to the lyrics, which he writes, and the singing. You're right, it's different, and IMHO it is authentic musical genius. His politics, on the other hand...

  • @ArturoSkandha well put..being a Paul butterflied nut any player is the best on any given night.. i do hold a special place for Little Walter though. ;)

  • @ArturoSkandha get over yourself!

  • For musicians: From 2:15 to 2:56- the greatest Breakdown-to-Coda in all of rock music.

  • Ha Ha Blues traveler is the truth

  • man john pooper got on white socks and flip flops ahahaha

  • @slide1994 i think his feet are just that white lol

  • @slide1994 What did you expect from a man wearing a harmonica holster vest.

  • I liked that riff near the beginning. they should've played it more times.

  • Popper is one of the greats! his voice, his playing and his soul wreaks on and on and on....

  • Why the hell is there a high pitch whining through the whole video?!? SUCKS!!

  • John Popper: Uglier than Steven Tyler, fatter than Wynona Judd.. and STILL the BEST DAMN SINGER ON THE PLANET!!

  • God this gets my blood pumping! WHOOOOO!!!

  • @sires....great point, now could you imagine if the rest of the band matched poppers capabilities on the harmonica?! not that the band is great and it's probably best the way it's been, but imagining is fun!

  • I'm surprised Carolina didn't crash her vehicle

  • BLUES TRAVELERS.

  • damn i love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:44 Johnny Depp xD

  • DaaaYummmmm .... I love this song. (well, now I gotta bump one of my top 10 alltime faves to make room for this gem ...)

  • Great song Great Band Great Video

  • My 2 cents? Steven Tyler and Delbert Mc clinton !

  • Well i'm off to change my pants!!

  • @derangedandconfused I see your point but he is a very good player no doubt and from all the harmonica players I'VE heard, he IS the Greastest, no question! I've never enjoyed harp playing as much as his, that's all I'm saying!

  • why is it that when u praise someone while viewing THEIR VIDEO, some jack wagon has to talk about how someone else is better? And yeah I guess that pompous ass jagger can blow a harp when he's not blowing richards

  • @clarenceh75: Well talking for myself personally, and probably every other person that talking about harp player that are better, it's because the claim has been made by Sires83 that John Popper is "hands down the best harp player to walk the planet" a claim I, and clearly many other harp fans/ player, dispute! And the reason the "harp" sounds so much like a guitar in the second part of the solo is because that is the guitarist playing a solo, not Popper's harp!

  • Favorite BT tune right here.

  • His harp solo looks like a jonny lang guitar solo :-)

Popper has an extraordinary and unorthodox playing technique, all my respect; but you people are just forgetting who, without a question, the undisputed harmonica God really is... and that's Mr. Marion Walter Jacobs. Amen.

  • What about Howard Levy? He's a dang good harmonica player!

  • Jason Ricci and John Popper are the gods of harmonica!!!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE Carolina! And I've never been there!

  • @littlemissbliss I had the almighty luck to have been born and raised in the heart of the Carolinas(Lincolnton NC). I've been all over this great country of ours and ALWAYS end up back here. The mountains are 1 hour away and the beach 4 hours away. I have rode to the beach, drank a couple beers, walked down the beach and rode back on many a Saturday

  • @RAYNEALAVERY yea i used to live in NC in gastonia.. Im now in upstate NY i miss home so much.. GO PANTHERS!!!!

  • @adamrocks133 Hey neighbor. You are welcome to come back anytime. Yea, I have been all over this great country of ours, and always end up back here...at home.

  • I'm from carolina and i love this song ya know carolina girls ARE the BEST in the WORLD!!!!

  • Sires83, don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE fan of BT and John Popper. He is one of the best at his type of music, which I crave. Jason Ricci can also share the trophy, but his music is much different from John's. Then you have to include many of the black blues harpists, all great in their own right. We have been blessed to have heard them all. Peace

  • Does this have a similar sound that Bring It On Home by Led Zeppelin has?

  • @BBQFanNo1 - its a matter of the equiptment used ... the mic is run into an overdriven (small) tube amp which is, in turn, miked ...

  • John Popper...what a legend! Harmonica king of the awesome 90's!!

  • chan kicks ass

  • this is a great band i would love to see them live

  • Too many subliminal messages.

  • The Devil went down to the Carolinas and had a heart attack when he heard John Popper playing harmonica cuz he couldn't get that fiddle to do anything better!

  • @GovernorSwarzenegger Popper had a heart attack pleasuring himself. That is a strong sign you need to lose weight, which he did. Love Popper. He is a real guy. we need more real musicians like him.

  • @GovernorSwarzenegger lol! love this comment, it's TRUE! ;)

  • love this video!

  • @GovernorSwarzenegger oooo that would be a sweet cover. with johnny doin harmonica against the devil's fiddle. blues traveler should consider that.

  • this is an all around good tune, it all just comes together

  • John Popper is a god on the harp, hands down the best!!!! Like to see some new stuff!

  • @MrBIGJ43 just guessing but you meant the harc....as in the harmonica????? I really hope so

  • John totally wails on this tune. It's just raw and unadulterated pure in your face harp playing. I get the shivers every time I hear this tune. He tears it up. If I can ever play this song on my harp I'll be a happy man.

  • @Squeege85 Totally agree bro john is the best harp player I have ever heard in my life, probably the best in the world

  • @MrByrdman85 Check out another amazing harp player named Jason Ricci. He and John are about the same compared to how good they both are.

  • LOVE this tune!

  • John Mayall was great but Popper in this song takes you to another galaxy with his harmonica

  • John Popper looks so good in this video. This is favorite Blues Traveler song.

  • kinda like harp arpeggios and sweeps and shit

  • popper sounds like he's playing lead harp. incredible i say

  • Fills me with Southern pride. I could go for some Boudin sausage and some 'shine.

  • My favorite Blues Traveler song...this is classic...just a good song :)

  • gotta love the Harmonica bandoleers...this song is AWESOME

  • i love how john don't give a fuck and is wearin' tevos.

  • Great Song!!

  • Holy Crap! @ 3:42!!

  • Voodoo chile anybody?

  • hmmmz i feel like moonshine

  • pot smokers lol

  • with guitar players, and drummers and bass players, no one will ever agree on who is the best ever, but John Popper is hands down the best harmonica player to ever walk the planet, no contest

  • @Sires83 larry adler - FTW. John is outstanding. larry is a fucking god.

  • @Sires83 he is danm good but come to the stix were he got taught

  • @Sires83 FUCK yeah.

  • @Sires83 no contest indeed. Most people can't play harmonica without it being too annoying or cheesy. Bob Dylan was pretty good but at times it got to be a bit irritating. But somehow Popper knows how to play the shit out of that thing, no one can beat that man, great voice too.

  • @MisterTomServo - Jagger .

  • @MaitreyaRocket I've never taken note on Jagger's harmonica playing before. Could you give an example of a song him or The Rolling Stones did that I could judge by?

  • @MisterTomServo check out midnight rambler for an example of Jagger's harp work (although I personally think that Brian Jones was a much better harpist than Jagger: you can hear his harp on most of the Stones early blues stuff in particular instrumental tracks like Now I've Got A Witness)

  • @derangedandconfused Suggesting that Mick Jagger might be a better harmonica player that John Popper only shows your ignorance.

  • @God0Mighty1 I'd actually put Popper and Jagger on a simillar par level ( if you want me to change that view show me some of Popper's acoustic harp work i.e where he actually plays without the harp) I've found when playing harp that alot of John Popper's solo is just very basic scaling on a harp, but through an amp with simmilar fx pedals as a guitar (he got them from Blues Travellers guitarist.) You judge the quality of a player by what he can do without fx not with them

  • @God0Mighty1 and also despite what you think I do think Popper is a good player: I was merely questioning how valid the claim was that he was "without a doubt the greatest harp player" because I've heard many I think are superior, and rely less on fx pedals. And I'm curious, because you claim I'm ignorant in these matters, what harp players do you listen to/ like, besides Popper?

  • @God0Mighty1 each person's "best player" is a matter of personal opinion: what in your opinion makes popper's playing superior to jagger's? I personally like Jagger's playing more than Popper's because it's not just based on speed and fx pedals. Since when did something being faster necessarily mean it was better in musical terms? from stuff i've listened to it can actually be the opposite, the players that can hold notes impossibly long impress me more than those who just speed play...

  • @MisterTomServo That's cause most people don't know how to play harmonica: Popper isn't anything special really: check out Little Walter, or even the Rolling Stones!!!

  • @derangedandconfused you don't think Popper is anything special? I've never heard a harmonica solo that sounds that close to an electric guitar before, he's a very unique player

  • @MisterTomServo I think he's special from the perspective that he's one of the first harp players to use guitar fx and pedals while playing harmonica. But without those fx their's nothing special about his playing! Seriously I was more impressed by his playing before I started properly playing the harp: once I did his just stuff seemed simple, basically all fx and scaling, I'm not saying he's not a good player: I'm just disputing the claim he's the greatest ever...

  • @Sires83 - Jagger smokes him ...

  • @MaitreyaRocket kkkkkkkkkkkk....you are a funny guy :)!!!

  • @Sires83 I, for one, disagree. How can you objectively measure harmonica playing?

  • @Sires83 - hands down the best? while i would never say i was personally better a better harpist than him i would certainly argue that players like: littler walter, sonny terry, sonny boy williamson (1 &2), juniour wells, "shaky" horton, charlie musselwhite & even (although more debatebly) guys like brian jones and bob dylan (who can play a mean blues harp when he wants to) are MUCH better, popper maybe be fast yes, but not as fun or talented as sonny terry (looks him up!!!)

  • @Sires83 .... Carlos del Junco is better, sorry :)

  • Comment removed

  • @Sires83 i so agree

  • @Sires83 That's a pretty unfair statement, if you ask me.

There are plenty of harmonica players that are just as good as John Popper; if not better.

  • grandissimi!!!!! li vogliamo in italia..

  • Dang, wailin on theat harmonica

  • pause at 3:44 LOL

  • I don't get it...?

  • nice!
