why paint the sky blue in the beginning? or you just go with the flow?

@saberj2x the 1st thing I do with most paintings is slap on a base colour to get rid of the white, the painting progresses from there. The way the colour is applied to the canvas dictates where it will go, for example the paint will be thicker in some areas and thinner in other, so from the rough background I decide where the next colours will go. I knew what I was going to paint when I started, but after the base is on I just go with the flow :)
